Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort

This hotel was great overall. I just have a couple of notes. First, I was given a key to a room where the previous occupant had not checked out. I was told there was an "issue with new checking software". The second room was for a first floor unit. I wish the floors were thicker, as I could hear the stampede on the second floor when that occupant has boisterous kids running around, and dragging furniture.

It is clean and cozy; I love the landscaping. Staff are nice and accommodating.

Wonderful facility for six people to stay comfortably

Traveling with my mom (who has never traveled like this) they made my experience easy! It was like living in our own apartment by family and we did things on out time. Staff at the front desk (LOVED Albert!!) answered all our questions and made us feel like family!! We are able to book a tour all right there by the front desk and had an amazing time!!

Friendly staff, well-kept rooms and grounds. Parking can be difficult

When driving into the property we were pleased with the grounds and buildings. They were well kept, if not quite new. Initial staff was friendly and helpful, but it was mandatory to speak to activity representative. This was a lengthy "pre sale" of the property, i.e. timeshare. We had just driven in from a 14 hour flight (3 planes) and just wanted to relax. We did NOT attend any of the breakfasts or activities that would further push their cause. Actually we really liked our bungalow, but we were on the lower floor and the 2nd floor was occupied by the "gallumping Goliaths" as my husband so aptly named them. When we both occupied the building at the same time, we were surrounded with stomping, jumping and during the day, shouting. So, a word of warning, ask for the top floor! We did have drainage problems with our air conditioning system twice with resulting wet carpets, but these were attended to. (Although maybe something more permanent needed to be done.) The day we were flying out in late afternoon, we wanted to swim in the pool closest to us, but were unable to do so as the water clarity and chemical level was not conducive to swimming. The pool was therefore closed. We just went back to the room, packed up and left. We were able to get a noon check out, but ideally we could have left at 4:00 pm.

We LOVED this 2 bed, 2 bath bungalow. Full kitchen, awesome lanai, huge bedrooms and bathrooms. Complete with a washer/dryer! We will be returning to this hotel!

So happy with our stay here - wish we would have been able to book it for the whole trip! Went with a large group of people (5 of us) and stayed in one of their 2 bedroom bungalows. The condo was immaculate and super comfortable. Beds, bathrooms, and kitchen amenities were clean, newer, and oh so luxurious! We stayed here at the end of our trip (started at Aston Kona by the Sea which was a nice location but a bit run down/outdated and then drove over to Hilo and stayed at the Hilo Hawaiian in a tiny single room that was clean but cramped and expensive), and it was absolutely the nicest hotel of the trip. It was also the cheapest, amazingly. The rooms were more updated then was shown on their own advertising pictures - I'm not sure if all the units are updated or not. The only reason I gave it four stars on location is because it would have been nice to be directly on the beach and/or within easier walking distance of downtown Kona. Regardless, if I go back to Kona this will absolutely be my top pick!

I had been wanting to stay here for awhile. My wait was worth it. It was a fantastic experience. If I needed to find anything wrong it would be the place is sparsely lit outside at night and our unit could use newer carpet. Otherwise, our stay was perfect. Staff was incredible friendly, helpful and made us feel special.

A good location to events in Kailua Kona without feeling in the middle of town and the hustle and bustle.

I took my family to Hawaii and it was good stay. Room is clean and big. Especially we liked BBQ area in the garden.

Large room with kitchen, wash machine and everything, great location.

We had very nice stay at Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort. A convenient location on the Ali drive.

Great place for couple to get together and relax and see what Hawai'i has to offer.

We were disappointed with the Wyndham. First, they told us they would work on early check-in and then never called us to say our room was ready. The internet speed was terrible and we were unable to upload photos or do the work functions needed. We called several times and they tried to fix it but it was still awful. The insulation between the floors was terrible and it sounded like there were elephants above us whenever someone walked upstairs. The shower doors were made out of bamboo and the design was poor so water easily leaked through them. The floor would get very wet and my daughter fell and hurt her hip. The staff was very into selling you a timeshare and the whole place was geared on that, you had to see the timeshare salespeople just to get your parking pass and they tried to pressure you to attend a timeshare talk. I was on vacation and wanted to relax and did not like feeling pressured. On the positive side, the grounds looked nice.

Made our trip very comfortable and easy. Had everything you'd want to make a perfect "home away from home" experience. Really so much better than I expected. Was looking for a relaxing getaway and got that and more from this resort. Thank you.

The hotel is a little off the main drag but well worth it. Great rooms at great prices.

Loved the setting & location, furnishings could be more up-to-date. I thought the price was a little high for what we got.

The resort was very comfortable and the facilities kept in great shape. Two pools to choose from. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Easy walking distant to town.

The facility is well laid out. Rooms are comfortable, clean and every thing is well maintained. Staff is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. Linens were changed mid-week. The security was also very professsionl
