Great location right next to the lake and a high end shopping centre, both a very easy walking distance. The hotel is fairly modern, good sized bedrooms and bathrooms and all the plumbing worked well. Some renovation was going on in the reception area when I was there so didn’t see this area in its best light. Spacious and well equipped gym, there was a large pool area but I didn’t get to explore this. Large bar are with subdued lighting. Very good free WiFi with excellent speeds. Breakfast buffet was exceptional with options to suit all tastes as well as the option of freshly prepared eggs. Stayed here for a 5 day conference and could not fault the food in any way at all. Would happily visit here again
The hotel is right by the Westlake. The sunset was stunning. If you have a lake facing room (and I highly recommend you book one) you can enjoy the sunset in the comfort of your room. Area is busy will malls and many restaurants. It is also near a Subway station. The hotel is under renovation but we did not feel any noises. Staffs are well trained and polite. I lost my cashmere scarf and they helped me to locate it. The room while not the most modern was comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back when I am next in Hangzhou.
Went to China to visit my brother and we stayed there for 3 days in 2016. The staff was very welcoming and it felt good to be treated with so much warmth and attention. The staff paid much attention to details.
This hotel looks very pretty outside. The room is small. The staff at the front desk are not enouph and made customers waited for long time. Staff are no warm to customers. No free breakfast. Room view shall be very pretty as the hotel is at the edge of the West Lake . However, we got little view of the lake.
We had a wonderful Chinese lunch at this nice hotel next to the lake. Stroll after your lunch along the lake. You can cross the bridge and walk 4 km around the lake. In summer the lake is full with orchids. But first go to the beautiful and China s most impressive tempel the Ling Yin Tempel. Wonderful!!
I stayed here for business. the Hotel itself is nice and right net to the lake. we stayed at the club floors and I can't believe that a hotel like this has such a horrible smelling carpet on the hallway. I was in china for 2 weeks and in hangzhou for 3 days. In this 3 Days my nose was blocked all the time because of this horrible carpet. it smells horrific. it must be so old! and it was only on the hallway not the ones in the room. I don't know if this is o every floor but the floor we stayed on (club floor) was awful. the club area with the food and drinks is amazing. very nice food and big selection for breakfast, lunch, teatime and dinner. the view on the terasse is very nice too.
Stayed in this hotel many times. it's like coming home each time. great staff and facilities. elegant, classy. nothing over the top. super service from all employees.Club Floor has unbeatable views of the lake. it's just a wonderful experience.
The hotel rooms and hallway are somewhat dated but the most difficult part of our stay was that the temperature control in our room did not work. We awoke every night to temperatures of 26 degrees Celsius. It was very warm and staff sent up maintenance who could not fix it. We were told 3 times that it takes awhile for the rooms to cool down. By day 5, it was still very very warm in our room, especially for sleeping.
Hangzhou is a local Chinese tourist hotspot; honeymoon capital of China. The hotel faces the famous lake and there are many tourists walking to see the beautiful area. Check in staff is efficient and super nice. The Café which is behind the checkout counter is a restaurant at night and breakfast area in the am. For dinner there are many hotel guests but also many locals coming for dinner. The hotel staff is extremely busy and need more support as well as training; some speak great English but did not necessarily truly understand the order which caused confusion and incorrect order. We had to go get staff to place an order and track them down to get the check. They offer Asia and Western options on a large dinner menu. All prices were reasonable. Room is large and tidy. Full size real hair dryer and it is not tethered to the wall. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast has plenty of options both Asian and Western. We will stay at this Hyatt location again on future trips.
it's right by the lake, a lot going on in the walking distance, shopping, food, attraction, etc. hotel itself is quite standard for any other 5-star in China one thing I didn't like is that if you check in late, your room will most likely be very far away from the elevator
- Walking distance to West Lake
- Free WiFi in rooms and public areas
- Onsite dining
