This Kalani Hawaii Private Lodging is a must stay if you are staying on the North Shore. The accommodation is very clean and will equipped. Bernie and Maria are very helpful and welcoming. Nothing is to much bother. We are looking forward to returning next year.
We stayed four nights at Kalani and can't wait to go back. Bernie is terrific, as was his hospitality. Highly recommend staying here for a couple, a group or solo. For anyone who wants to make this trip about surfing, this is a great spot as Bernie will be able to tell you where to go. Have a blast!
Beautifull home-feeling lodge ever!!! Since the moment we got in everyone and everything was spectacular, specially Maria & Jenny, they both are the best hosts. All is clean (I a m a pain in the .... for cleanliness) and Iit is so relaxing. I definatley have and will keep recommending KALANI. Thank you for a wonderful experiance!
I spent 4 nights at the lodge. Only one other person the first two nights. Turned out we hit it off immediately. The third and fourth night a friend stayed with me and a couple of others showed up. I will definitely stay at the lodge when ever I get back to the North Shore. Bernie was great. I didn't realize it was the "Bernie Baker" until the last night. The spot was absolutely beautiful. Mahalo!
Our stay here was brief and thoroughly enjoyable. After our evening arrival at Kalani where we were in a dorm room with bunkbeds, we slept so sound! Mind you, we are grandparents who hike, bike, xc ski, and backpack a lot. We awoke the next morning completed rested! With mugs of freshly brewed coffee, we strolled out to the beautiful lanai and enjoyed the chirping birdsong, and lush tropical foliage. Bernie was so friendly, engaging, and helpful! It was a delight to have met Maria who was helpful with our reservations via email. We did not rent a car; we bought a daily pass and hopped off and on bus #55 on the north shore, catching the sights and a plethora of food trucks, and also bought a few groceries at Foodland. We also walked a few miles on the bike path and got caught in the rain (had umbrellas with us) but got to see the famous Rocky Point, Pipeline, and Sunset beaches where we saw spectacular waves! We’ll definitely come back for a longer stay as Kalani is relaxing, clean, orderly, and relaxing!! Did I say relaxing😊 Also loved hearing English spoken with different accents from around the world. All the guests were so friendly! We were ALL enjoying Kalani’s genuine aloha vibe. Definitely our kind of place!
What can you add to all the comments ? Nothing !! The hosts look after you , the place is Mint ! and just a great place to hang out and relax or use as a base to explore . Bernie's local knowledge makes everything easy . And will even go above and beyond and take you for a drive to the shops himself . Highly Recommended .
My husband and I have been at the sunset studio for the last 7 days. Bernie was so helpful — ensuring our comfort and fun. He took us on a tour of Haleiwa our first morning. Pointed out all of the places to eat and made sure we went and did the best activities. Almost every day he checked in to see that we were ok and provided more recommendations. I would highly recommend the sunset studio!
Stayed at this beautiful property for 5 nights and loved every minute! Bernie and Maria made my friend and I feel very welcome and went above and beyond. The property is very well kept to a high standard and exceptionally clean. The lodging is in the perfect spot right at sunset beach and a short walk to pipeline! I would definitely stay here again without any hesitation :)
I have stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom and firstly I have to tell you the place is spotless. I was a bit worried about the shared bathroom but had absolutely no problems with it. The place is very clean, the cleaning lady doing a wonderful job. The bed is big and comfortable and I slept like a baby. It is more like a big house with a nice garden and a friendly and helpful host. It is near to great beaches and there is a small gas station nearby. When you arrive you'll see mobile phone numbers for Maria and Bernie at the door. You need to call either one and one will answer immediately. That is how I've checked in (Maria was away on vacation so there was only Bernie at the time). The kitchen is big and there are enough supplies and enough space to keep your food (both in the fridge and larder). There is a coffee and tea whenever you want them. There are washers and driers that work with coins. They provide beach towels too and there are showers outside. The clientelle was mixed with some young surfers, 30 something yoga people and 40 somethings just enjoying the beach and nature like myself. Bernie is a great guy and a wonderful host, providing information and assistance when required without being intrusive. I really liked him and would like to thank him here as well (he was so kind in providing medicine for me too God bless him). If you want to stay at North Shore definitely consider Kalani. I'm so happy that I chose it over a five star resort. I get to meet people from different walks of life and enjoy the beaches and nature to the max.
I have such fond and happy memories of my recent stay. It felt like staying with family in a really cozy, clean house. Bernie is like the happy relative there to help with with everything and dispensing the best local advice. It was so comfortable, relaxing and natural - all going back to just this amazing feeling of feeling at home while on vacation. It's an amazing location and a pristine clean place which is so welcome. I traveled solo and stayed in the dorm and it was nothing like a typical hostel experience. I consider this far more a B&B but truly it's so different and special and you won't be disappointed if you are a laid-back traveler who likes experience the authentic spirit and vibe of places you visit. I highly recommend renting a bike the entire time as there really aren't many food options nearby as well as grabbing a few items from the grocery store and keeping in the kitchen. I loved my trip - so special and so gracious!
