Room is fine but lack privacy. CCTVs monitoring guests outside door and inside. Great seafront with waves 30 metres away but the 8 Dec 2025 earthquake (and advisory for tsunami) struck when we were preparing to rest. Had to walk far to get to mainroad. Have to balance between seafront living with safety.

We are a family of 4 (husband, wife, 8 yr old boy and 1.5 yr old boy). We stayed in this property for 4 days and 3 nights. The property is in excellent condition and very clean (tiptop clean). It is a seaside property and the view of both the city and the sea is spectacular. Although there are only 4 of us, it can accomodate up to 7 people. It has 2 queen beds and 3 twins which is ideal for a big family. The parking accross the road can accomodate 3 big cars or vans. We rented a car on the entire duration of our stay. Driving is preferred because we don't know how to get around. They also have taxi or uber in the area if you prefer not to drive. I don't know about the bus. It looks like a long walk to the bus stop. All the attractions and restaurants are close by (driving). I would love to just stay in the place and just relax but we only have limited time to visit the city. Sunset and night lights are beautiful. The check in and check out process is also easy and straight forward. There are rules that are typical to Japanese hotel/household which is easy to follow. Only drawback is we should have stayed 1 more day to just enjoy the house. Thanks Nesaki Native. We will definitely go back! PS: We only used 1 bed because the floor is so clean that my boys opted to just sleep in the floor mats with blankets.

Inner peace and tranquility
This house is a bit hard to find on Google maps, and sits exactly along the shores next to other beach properties. It's is best to Google 小浜理容店 barber shop (179, 179 Nesakicho, Hakodate, Hokkaido 042-0924, Japan) next door because the address given on the website doesn't register with the taxi services.
The view is breathtaking and the back side of the house gives a panoramic view of the water through windows that run all along the back of the house. But the small beach is not accessible or inhabitable.
The house is modest and modern. The style is like a Matisse painting with orange, mustard and red squares and tatami matted floors that makes great use of space. There is a main bedroom with 2 inside bedrooms that are only accessible through the main bedroom, and are closed off with separate doors. The inner bedrooms are much cooler and darker because they are hidden from the sun.
The feel of the house is quite relaxing and zen-like. It's a wonderful place to sit and watch the sunset with a cup of tea, on very comfortable oversized chairs. A unique and peaceful experience.
