First off, the owner is an extremely nice man, and his staff also speak highly of him. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a fridge, microwave, and yes, a Kuerig coffee maker! Excellent location just one mile from the airport, a 5 minute walk to Main street, and 3 very good eateries literally next store. The 3 staff members I met that worked the front counter were all extremely friendly and helpful, and Brooke has a really cute puppy, if you're nice, she might show you pics ;-). I am returning in September and will not even look at another hotel, what's the point? I do recommend one thing if you make a reservation, and that is book it directly with them instead of using a travel service which takes money from the owner. Even if you pay a couple extra bucks, it's really a nice gesture. Anyway, I hope this helps somewhat. Dave
Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was small for a king bed. On the other hand,, the bathroom was very large. A big negative for me is that a nightstand and light was only on one side of the bed. This made it very difficult for one of us to read or put anything next to the bed. The mattress was good but pillows were hard so we had to retrieve our personal pillows from our car. Shower was good. A/C was effective and not noisy. There is no freezer compartment in the fridge. We like to have one so we can re-freeze our freezer packs. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs and bacon plus the usual items. Very good coffee which was appreciated. Hotel is on the main road through Gunnison and convenient to local restaurants and shopping. This Econolodge is definitely a step up from the usual budget hotel, if you can consider these prices budget ones!.
This motel has no elevator. The beds were just ok. The room seemed clean. The breakfast was yuck, they had the cheap cheap paper plates for us to use, they actually cut the fake egg omelets in half, the potato patties were inedible, they had been microwaved I guess. There was no meat available to choose from, no butter for the waffles. Not my choice of motels, we probably will not stay here again.
I was charged a 250.00 fee and was told I smoked in my room!!!! I did not smoke inside the room ... but the card was charged the fee . Beware. I was right next to the back door and made numerous trips outside to smoke . The rooms were nice . The beds great , there was a coffee machine , fridge , Microwave. The towels were great . Very nice staff . But the unjustifiable charge for smoking , road side robbery . Shame on you .
Average, budget hotel. Clean enough, was worried about noise with children nearby, but wasn't a major issue after the fact. Slept well enough. Breakfast was weak, we went to The W Café in town instead. Super friendly staff at check-in and check-out, thank you! Went above to accommodate additional request.
We would happily stay here again, as we had a very good lodging experience at this hotel. The room was nice, the breakfast was good and included bacon and eggs, and our stay was restful and quiet. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Since our stay coincided with an unusual late May snowstorm, we were glad to be in a hotel with room access through an interior hallway rather than a motel with exterior door access. Our only complaints were that the hotel has no elevator to the second floor and there wasn’t a security chain on the inside of the room door, neither of which was a big deal. Gunnison had a good choice of restaurants, and this was a great place to lodge following a day of hiking at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, which is a little over an hour away.
This place it what you expect from a modern, well run property: cleanliness, efficiency, but no frills. Since we were there for the Gunnison Sage-Grouse we didn't have a chance to sample breakfast. But there was coffee early in the morning. Check-in and -out were easy. Room was clean, bathroom as well. We slept well. I would stay here again!
Rooms were exceptionally clean, free wi-fi worked very well and the included movie channels were a welcome surprise. Washer and dryer on site was very convenient. Great rates, would definitely stay again!
Room was Awesome, great to stay. I just love staying here. Gunnison, Colorado is the best!!! I love the service. My friend's love this too! The Keurig, the breakfast is awesome. The facilities are great with nice touch. Laundry is available 24/7 and its easy to use and close to my room
This is a nice property that seems newer. I had a very clean, room with two comfortable full size beds. A mini fridge and microwave, as well a coffee maker were also in the room. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower/water pressure though very little counter space. The internet was solid which I really appreciated. The breakfast was plentiful and decent - with scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, and oatmeal, cereal, apples, bananas, etc. Great management and I enjoyed my stay.
