Not walking distance to Zona Viva. 15 minutes to Cathedral. Can't really catch a taxi. Restaurant menu is in English but waiters are rude and get mad when you order in English

I enjoyed the staff the room, and that its centrally located within the city. I would highly recommend to my friends.

This hotel had a huge room with four or five beds in the same room. It was in adequate place to stay during our trip to Guatemala. Nothing really stood out as good or bad but the air conditioning was a welcome respite from the Guatemalan heat! The service and staff were acceptable and overall the room was clean.

Great location, Great room and Service, would recommend this hotel given the location and quality of service for the money.

Staff & cleanliness was great. The room itself, however, was so tiny. I could not even open my suitcase anywhere but on the bed all the way!!! Did not expect that for the amount of $

The Hotel Location was great, but the staff forgot to give me a wake-call in the morning. I was very disappointed when my Cell Phone was stolen en the lobby. I reported the situation, and the only thing that was offered was to call my Cell phone. Did not bother to asked anyone, or put a temporary notice that a cell phone. The next day in the Local Newspaper a front page was posted stating that Cell Phone theft was a major problem in the Area. It would have been nice if the Hotel would have given us some advice on any current events that I myself was not aware of.

this hotel is so great considering the price. Right across from the Embassy!

hello again we choosed howard johnson in guatemala city. the hotel is nice, clean, friendly stuff, good breakfast and excellent shuttle service. downtown to the busstation, or jandycraft markets, as well to the airport about 20 ride... next to the hotel save banks, good shopping and excellent restautants. we will come back! sincerely uli politt

I had a great experience at this hotel. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, the restaurant is good, is within close proximity to everything

I stayed here one night-- just a place to sleep before flying out the next morning. The desk staff was very courteous and quickly took care of both my check in and my request to change to a room to the quieter side of the hotel. I didn't want the noise from Avenida Reforma--many rooms look right on to this busy street. What I got was an inside room with no windows. Rather cave-like, but nice and quiet. For this type of a stay, quiet is more important to me than a view. The hotel is charming in an odd kind of way. Ornate colonial touches mixed with brown almost-shag carpeting and modern bathroom fixtures are a strange but not unpleasant combination. The bed was reasonably comfortable. They get extra points for having a power strip with grounded (3-prong) outlets--something I never see in hotels. There really aren't amenities here. The elevator is the smallest I've ever been in--my two suitcases and I just barely fit. The airport shuttle was on-time and very convenient. The restaurant where the complimentary breakfast is served is a branch of a local small chain attached to the hotel. I chose the fruit salad, which was not very good, and I had to ask for a second cup of water for tea because the first one wasn't hot enough. Other breakfasts looked like they might be better. The hotel is a few blocks from the restaurants and night-life of zone 10. I walked over for lunch, but I'd take a cab at night. If you need to go to the US Embassy, it's only about a block away. This would not be my choice for an extended stay, but for anyone looking for a lower cost hotel with free airport shuttle, the Howard Johnson Inn is a good option.

Visited family while Guatemala. The hotel was good for the money but far from any restaurant.

WE HAVE STAYED HERE BEFORE BUT THIS TIME THE MANAGEMENT STAFF HAD CHANGED. THE BIGGEST CHANGE THAT AFFECTED US WAS AT THE RESTURANT. THE SELECTION NOR THE FOOD WAS NOT AS GOOD AS BEFORE. THE PERSONNEL WAS FRIENDLY AS ALWAYS IN BOTH THE RESTURANT AND THE HOTEL.

Nice & clean; free shuttle to & from airport. Average food in restaurant, tho it doesn't open til 6:30 a.m. Complimentary breakfast if you don't have to be at airport by 6:30 a.m.

We travelled to see friends. The location was central to our activities, the staff very pleasant and helpful. I chose the hotel for the price and because the hotel only has three floors, a feature very important to me in case of emergency! All in all a good value.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The reception and restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay, not much to choose from. The dinner menu needs to be more extensive.

I appreciated the shuttle service between the airport and the hotel. Very warm welcoming upon arrival at the hotel. Comfortable living quarters, with non-smoking environment. Excellent breakfast choices included every morning. Well positioned to go into town, for shoping, bars and clubs.

The room had air conditioning and everything you needed. However, there are very few surrounding restraunts and no shops. If you just need a cheep place to stay for a night, want a free breakfast and a free ride to the airport this is the place for you.

very nice location and people where very friendly

The staff was courteous. Rooms were very small but clean. The bathroom was clean but the shower had no pressure at all and the drainage from the shower was very slow. I was constantly in a pool of water. The restaurant was good, and waiters very friendly. Rooms had no window, like living in a small box. OK for somebody who will just come back for the night to sleep.

It's easy to move from the hotel to different places. The room is small. The food is very good and good prices.
