The taxi had difficulty to find the location, although area itself is the best feature of this hotel. Generally speaking, the hotel is average, the rooms reasonable - but the breakfast is terrible (the bread was so old you coudn't even cut it with the knife!). The staff speak poor English. It's no the kind of place you feel he wiil to return to.
I have spent 14 nights in this hotel. Its not so bad in overall however location is not so usual and its tough to get a taxi. As you might seen in some other reviews you gotta ask help from the concierge for calling a car from Didi (local uber) as they would tell you no taxi's available. There a lot of complications with this. Breakfast is average only 1 maximum 2 types of tiny che3se options available. Rooms are comfy unless if you have very loud neighbor having an overseas phone call in language that you cant recon in the middle of the night as sound insulation is almost none. Would i stay again ? Well i'd rather look for a better option at the same range price for sure.
i am currently staying in la perle international, i had a few incidents that i would not expect to encounter in any supposedly high end hotel. first unlike the other high end hotels that i stayed in guangzhou near the pazhou fair the staff lack the knowledge of simple english which is very annoying to myself. i had to use my translator for almost everything. the second and most unwelcoming moment was late at night i had a delivery which i had to pay for and partly my fault i thought i had enough cash but i was short 2000 rmb which isn't a big amount but i tried the cash machine at the reception but it wouldn't despense any cash, so i went to the reception and explained the answer of the person in charge was this only accepts chinese cards, still it's understandable. so i asked him if he can charge my card and charge me interest he refused so i told him that he is already holding more than double that amount as.deposit and I'm good for it but his answer was sorry I can't, which really ticked me off. so i asked him at least can you help me find a soloution he replied " i only answer hotel problem" so i said isn't this related to the hotel since I'm a guest and he said plainly NO . his name is benny li and he works as an assistant manager. so at the end he told me to roam around and find a machine that will accept my card. i was so angered, confused and frustrated. anyhow i wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy. sorry but i didn't have 1 good experience to praise this place. I wouldn't come again even if it was for free.
Stayed here from 21st to 26th October 2017. The location is extremely difficult to find after getting out from the subway station, even with map app on my phone. Two taxi drivers I took the next day did not know this hotel. The TV shows it has CNN, Discovery, NHK, HBO, but when you tune in, there are no such channels, instead all these channels show the same Philipines TV show. When I checked out, I asked the concierge to get a taxi for me, he said I need a large taxi as I had 3 suitcases and there are three of us and immediately said the price to airport will be 180RMB. I have been to Guangzhou many times and know it will cost around 130-140RMB from TianHe district. So my friend booked using mobile APP instead. When the taxi arrived, the concierge couldn't be bothered to help us with our luggage when he did helped us earlier and gave us the look. The final taxi fare (including the 15RMB highway toll) was 140RMB. I would not recommend this hotel during the Canton fair when one pays over 800RMB per night, simply not worth the money.
As other reviews have said, this property, although billed as 5 star is not. It’s no more than a semi-passable 4! It’s very convenient for the Canton Fair and lays on a courtesy coach to and from the fair daily which is more than welcomed. I fully agree with previous comments regarding the staff and their ability to speak English. For a hotel that bills itself as international, language is a HUGE barrier here, the simplest requests - taxi, ordering food/drinks & room service is not easy and unfortunately leads to frustration on all sides - not the staffs fault per se but management need to address this as it without doubt led to numerous ‘situations’ in the lobby area. While centrally located, it is on what can only be described as a back street & it ain’t pretty! I took 4 taxis during my stay and each one had difficulty finding it. The rooms are perfectly adequate, most importantly clean but are far off a 5 star grading. For a short business stay it’s fine - any longer and I think I’d go mad!!!
Newish hotel in behind the busy Tianhe district which is our favourite for the Canton Fair. Modern well equipped rooms with beds not as hard as we usually find in China. Priced low to medium for a medium to high hotel. Please give a helpful vote if I’ve helped you,
Have been staying at this hotel for the pass 5years during every canton fair. Had seen them grew from a basic business hotel to where they are today. Basic Chinese standard rooms with hard beds, smokey scent and modern interior. However, this hotel comes up with Creative ideas like lobby shows during evenings that engage guest while serving complimentary refreshments. I had seen traditional Chinese calligraphy, tea appreciation, dance, lucky draws and even mini concerts with Chinese musical instruments. Found it really entertaining and sometimes enriching. Will be back here again during canton fair as they provide shuttle services to the convention centre.
The stay was OK. Was affordable. It is a bit to the back of where the main road is. For the average tourist nothing really in the vicinity. Seems more like a business local hotel for workers, thou some tourists including foreigners. Room was decent, a view that look at the back with carparks and stuff.
I stayed here for 4 nights during Chinaplas. The room is comfortable and clean. The staffs are very polite and helpful. The location is very strategic, which is 3 - 5 minutes walking distance to many departmental stores, gadget malls, restaurants & subway stations.
Always a variety of reviews. I'm discerning but I don't look for faults. I don't expect perfection whilst expecting others to speak my language. To this end, I had a straight-forward stopover at La Perle International. I found the staff courteous and helpful at all times - and any language difficulties were worked through without any stress. The room and bed was comfortable and had everything I needed. The metro is very close. It was my first time in this city in more than 30 years and I was a little anxious. There was however nothing to worry about. Taxi driver tried to charge me CNY200 but I insisted on him using the meter and it cost me CNY164 from the Airport. The buffet breakfast at the hotel met the local standard but didn't exceed it.
