This former convent has a lot of character and unique rooms. On arrival they served a glass of wine which was appreciated after a long day. The service and parking were great. Breakfast in the morning was also very good. Plate of fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, nespresso coffee, bread, beans, and eggs. Very glad to have stayed!
This hotel is warm, romantic, quaint, in a great location.... walking distance to everything like the city square...(very relaxing and cool at night) the best restaurants are all around and just plain great for local sightseeing...you don't need a car.....why because parking is quirky and directions may be hard to follow and you're gonna waste a lot time trying to figure it out! So what do you do....you hire the best guide in San Miguel...and that's from San Miguel Magico Transportation & Tours...they pick you up at the airport in Guanajuato International Airport, and it's and hour and a half drive from San Miguel de Allende with direct flights to Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. The Queretaro International Airport is closer and receives Continental and Aeromexico flights. The right tour guide will speak great english and will also talk about everything from the airport to San Miguel...and beyond and they know where to go and the best way to get there.....and they know what's going on so you don't miss any big holiday events. So kick back and enjoy all the reasons you came here...
The hotel is a very gracious and affordable place in the heart of the town. Located on a quiet street halfway between the center square and a beautiful park, it is still a great place to relax after walking and the festivities. The breakfast is good and the staff very warm and helpful.
Stayed here for four days and loved it. Low key, beautiful charming grounds & building, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, definitely recommend it and would stay here again. Location a few blocks from the main plaza is convenient, yet quiet.
This small hotel is well located in the town of San Miguel de Allende. The outdoor common areas are lush and charming. We stayed in a room with a barrel ceiling built of bricks with a large, private patio outside overlooking a garden with a fountain. Our room was air-conditioned and comfortable in every way. The advertised "continental breakfast" turned out to be a full breakfast served in a patio filled with bouganvilla. What an amazing bargain. We would gladly return.
We were so pleased we booked this lovely hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast in the courtyard was delightful. No need to walk up a hill at the end of the day which I see as a bonus. Other pluses are the quality toiletries, good wifi and comfortable room. Would definitely come back.
This is a great location for wandering around the center of the town. Beautiful rooms, large bathroom and comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful. The outside courtyard is picturesque and most rooms open onto this area.
We got a room called Jacaranda. It was quiet and had a big and beautiful balcony. Nice toiletries. The breakfast was very good. Hospitality great. I highly recommend this hotel. I would stay there again.
This hotel really grew on me. It is unassuming when you arrive at the front desk but the courtyard and the rooms are fabulous. The hotel is not in the square but it's only a couple of minutes walk away. Our room had the most fantastic bathroom with pineapple tiles all around and lots character. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
You will love Hacienda El Santuario. Just a few blocks from the center of the town, this peaceful, beautiful boutique hotel is a perfect base for your trip to San Miguel de Allende. From a yummy free breakfast (ask for Abraham to be your waiter - what a hard working gentleman) to a very helpful front desk (Luis in particular), to a clean, spacious room with a comfortable bed (ask for the Golondrina room or one in the same general area - towards the back area, a bit more quiet courtyard than the main courtyard), we could not have asked for more. All this for less than $600 in total for four nights. Stay here and you won't regret it - we can't wait to go back!
