Having been to Guam many times this was my first stay at the Oceanview Hotel & Residences Guam. We were greeted warmly at check-in and with big smiles. Very nice to be greeted so warmly as we had just completed a long flight and were very tired. Near the airport, about 10 minutes travel time. Hotel was surrounded by malls in front and just a short walking distance to the beach. The view of Tuman Bay from our room was awesome and the evening sunsets were at time breath taking. The hotel has a large and very clean pool. Local restaurant in hotel which was ok if you like Guam food; however, you are next to an Outback and close by are many fine restaurants. There is a local bus stop a short distance down from the hotel that will take you to all of the shopping areas and hotels. The bus is the way to get around Tumon Bay and I recommend if staying multiple day to purchase a daily ticket. The hotel rooms were large as we were in a two bedroom condo and the furnishing were not up to current styles but nice, clean and serviceable. Flat screen TV and two bathrooms, one with shower and the other had a tube. For the price, we paid, this hotel is a great bargain. Keep in mind most Guam buildings appear to need paint. The heat and humidity are hard on painted surfaces, moisture causes mold and mildew on the sides and government restrictions makes it difficult to import more workers, so paint and construction are expensive. If visiting Guam again, I will stay here.
Pros: location, large condo, great AC, easy access to all parts of Tumor and the Island. Great service and staff...immediate response when there's a need. Wonderful for a long-term stay. Good price for the value! Cons: limited number of things in the kitchen (if you are not cooking, then no problem) and limited parking. We will likely consider for another long-term stay.
Pros: Great staff--very friendly, available, and responsive!! Awesome views, with small oceanside balcony! Good A/C (air-conditioning). Spacious rooms. WiFi and Ethernet available. In building laundromat. Nice clean lobby. In building convenience store open 24/7. Outdoor pool with spacious deck seating/lounging. On grounds Spa. Bus stop nearby. Very convenient to popular tourist spots--only 1-1/2 blocks to Tumon Beach. Cons: Limited parking spaces. VERY STEEP uphill trek for walking to nearby spots. Cable TV has poor channel selection--but at least it has SOME basic ones! Balcony not appealing to use, because HUGE A/C (air-conditioning) unit on it--VERY LOUD, and takes up 1/3 of entire Balcony!
Hello Family trip. 5 adults/2 toddlers. - Great to have kitchen/dining/living room. Only way we travel now with kids. - Units are in good shape. Not 5 star, but very nice. - Staff was friendly and helpful - Pool was nice. - Great morning and sunset views of the Ocean - Pretty close to Tumon, but it is a 5-10 minute walk. And the hill that provides the Oceanview is steep. If you want something where you can step from your hotel onto the beach, this isn't the place for you. - Parking was free/available...but spaces could be hard to find sometimes. If you couldn't find one close, had to park down the hill a little bit.
I been traveling a lot for work and this hotel is the worst hotel I ever stayed in and it's not even worth a review. Light in the room is really dim, bed need to be replaced because it's really hard. Mold all over the bathroom.
location - very near westin and outrigger and dfs. beach access also nearby we got a two bedroom unit with two toilets and baths. kitchen, living room and dining room. one bedroom had 2 queens and one bedroom had 2 twins. check in and check out were fast. we checked in and out in the wee hours of the morning. housekeeping was unsatisfactory. i called the attention of the front desk staff, and the following day, the house keeper did a better job.
Oceanview offers very comfortable rooms at the heart of Guam plus excellent service. Thanks to Mr. Ruben, the general manager, makes sure guests are having a great stay. He offered complimentary transportation when we are headed to Chamoro village. The front office team Rey,Yuki and Cathy are very friendly and accommodating. Princess needs to chill sometimes, she doesn't seem interested in taking extra care of her guests. Please know everyone deserves to be treated in a way you want to be treated in return. Guam also offers great diving to be added on your bucketlist. Check blue hole! We definitely had an excellent experience on Guam!
I went to Guam for a family wedding that was being held at the Dusit. Didn't want to spend that kind of money. Room at the Oceanview was not "oceanview" but it was quiet. The hotel is built like a bunker. Super basic accommodations but it was clean. They had new towels. The A/C control didn't seem to do anything so I angled the vent up towards the ceiling so I wouldn't freeze to death. Guam has the longest traffic lights. If you're walking, look both ways and then go for it if it's clear. Otherwise you'll spend your entire holiday waiting for the walk signal!!!
This hotel was perfect for our family of 5. The price was right, and the space was great...kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Reading other reviews, I was expecting a hotel, high on a huge hill, unfriendly/uncooperative staff, and dirty rooms. Yes, the hotel is on a bit of a hill, but get some exercise after all the food you eat :) The pool was basic, but our 3 kids basically had it to themselves. The staff were cordial and I appreciated that my encounters with them seemed sincere. The sheets on the bed were white and very clean. The sleeping area and living areas were very clean. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean (not immaculate), but I read a lot of reviews of various hotels in Guam...and most said "outdated, need a renovation." Our friends were staying at the Hyatt, and paying much more than us, and they said the knob fell off when they turned on the shower. While the fancy resorts have such beautiful pools and wonderfully kept grounds, I liked that I could keep an eye on my kids at all times, and that I paid a lot less for the week than my friends. I would stay at this hotel again, and I would highly recommend it to families or large groups.
Stayed here with a group of my friends during a 4 day trip in Guam. The room was spacious and clean and fit the 4 of us easily. I would definitely stay here again. Pros: - The hotel is very convenient (10min walk, 2 min drive) to the central hotel/restaurant/beach area of Tumon. - not far from Kmart (7min drive) - water bottles provided (only once) but coffee every day - provide extra towels and beach towels! (A big plus because you are always going to be getting wet around Guam) - basic shower toiletries provided - cheap rates - clean and comfy Cons: - Many rooms don't have a very nice view but top floors do - Not enough parking so you may have to park in yellow zones at night (everyone did this, just don't do it in the daytime) - up a short incline (annoying if you don't have a car) - air con was a bit cold, couldn't be controlled inside the room
- Free WiFi and wired Internet in rooms and public areas
- Onsite dining
- Outdoor pool
