It's on a main arterial road in Guadalajara, quiet and not bad at all for the price. I stayed here 3 nights and they were gracious enough to reduce y stay by one night on request. The restaurant has limited options but it's ok. The pool is well maintained and they have small feeding pots for hummingbirds.
We visited the hotel in November 7th, 2016, we were very hungry and asked if they had room service and they said yes, when we try to make an order they told us, that restaurant was closed. We told them that we wanted to leave and they didn't reimburse our money. We left any ways. It was awful.
I stayed in the queen room, the room is a bit small but well organized. Beds are very comfortable. I stayed for two weeks and was very pleased with the staff. They are very friendly and always eager to help. The food in the restaurant and valet parking are very good. The location is very ideal because it's close to a Main Street and easy to navigate from. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for a good nights rest and friendly service.
The room me and my boyfriend were staying at was relatively clean. Although we both thought the bed was awfully hard and the bathroom had a peculiar smell. Well, nothing we couldnt tolerate. The problem started at night when the rain came. The roof had a massive leak! And all our stuff was on the floor, wet! Including shoes. I woke up because of the wattery noise!!! When i call the desk they only send a guy to our room with towels and a bucket!!! (!!) and they denied us another room untel both my boyfriend and I get totally pissed!!!! Spare yourself troubles of this kind and look after another hotel.Specially if thereis rain expected!
I spent in Puerta del Sol 5 days for business. The place is good for families, since it has a good swimming pool in its park besides the appartments. Rooms are very basics but are large and the service is good. Also the personnel at the reception is very kindly and helpful. The breakfast is not amazing like in such luxurius hotles, but I have enjoyed a lot the real mexican style of the dishes. I can advise to visit this hotel for travellers. Is not good for business because it's a family hotel and there are not meeting rooms.
Second time at this small, VERY clean, charming, quite spot!!! Loved it! The staff is lovely and very helpful! The breakfast that's offered in the morning is tasty and very convenient to get you started. Great and very inexpensive! Looking forward to our next trip!
Only stayed one night but enjoyed the quiet peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. It was nice too, that since I know almost no Spanish that most of the staff spoke English. So great for tourist. Plus hotel is walking distance of a big outdoor mall as well as casino.
Stayed here on my first visit to Mexico from India, and the stay was extremely pleasant, in spite of my lack of understanding of Spanish. The staff is very polite and extremely helpful, the rooms are clean, well maintained and well stocked, and the ambiance is pleasing. The restaurant too is quite good, and even though it got difficult to communicate at times, they always were able to arrange for a member of staff who knew English to assist me. The hotel is just a steal: I don't think one can get such a stay at such low prices. It is situated a little away from the centre, but is perfect if one is visiting Expo: you can either walk down or take a bus for 6 Pesos. A cab to the centre takes 90-100 Pesos.
I have visited Guadalaraja six times and recently stayed at Hotel Puerta Del Sol..The hotel may be far from the central area but its a nice hotel with a pool,,,garden area and very friendly staff..My Spanish is fair and was able to check in with no problem..The small restaurant is good and food is fine.It is within walking distance to Plaza Del Sol,,,restaurants and in a safe area..Abraham the bellman was friendly and called for a taxi when I left and Francisco at the front desk helped me connect to wifi...I look forward to a return vist...
We love this hotel more each time we book it. This wasn't the first time we stayed at this hotel, I'm always pleased to see that they are improving the property and making it a better experience for guests. The hotel has a beautiful garden area and pool. The rooms are very clean. They have a great staff - always friendly and helpful. The restaurant has amazing food. I recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for an inexpensive hotel with excellent customer service.
