Hotel Drei Raben4.0 out of 5.0

We made a two day visit to Graz and stayed at Hotel Drei Raben, which is located an easy 15 min walk from the center of town. Rooms are good - we stayed in a 5 bed room, which was perfect for us, being a family of 5 - with beds that are comfortable enough. We came late to breakfast the first morning, but the lady in the breakfast room immediately made us fresh and perfect scrambled eggs and bacon. Would definitively stay there again!
We ask for a family room and got big and comfortable room. There was some noise from the street, but not too much. The hotel is in walking distance from the main tourist attractions of the city. Breakfast was ok. Parking and transferring the suitcases to the room was bit challenging. People at the reception were very polite and helpful.
I am the world traveller and I know many hotels in Europe, both Americas, Asia, Australia, New Zealand....I am never going to hotels below 3 stars, as I don't like hostels and travelloges. Drei Raben has excellent location, confortable rooms with tea/coffee facilities, safe and mini bar, it has clean rooms and bathrooms and is non smoking. I also like to come back because of the pleasant staff, especially Mrs. Monika and Mrs. Carmen in the Breakfast room and Miss Suzana at Reception. It is possible to borrow the bicycle in this hotel free of charge.
Nice hotel, only 10 minutes to downtown. Arrivable with car and bus or tram. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Free Wifi in the rooms and also at lobby andbreafast room. Great house for a weekend trip.
This is not a four star by any standard. They apparently try to cut cost, our room was not made up by late afternoon. Can't say anything about the breakfast, it wasn't included and they ask a steep price. Otherwise it was OK. Room was simple but clean. Soundproofing windows did their job well. Location is acceptable, about 15 minutes to the old town by foot, even less to the train station.
I recently visited this hotel, it's in an excellent location and very close to the city center short walks to everywhere along with close to public transport, trams run throughout Graz The hotel room itself was very spacious however the only thing that let this down was that there was no bath, it might just be me but when I stay in a somewhat nice hotel I expect to have a bath to soak in. (Although I stayed in a few hotels in Austria on this trip and there was only a bath in one). Overall this was a lovely relaxing place to stay, great air conditioning system, loads of space very clean and in a great location.
I've only stayed in Drei raben for one night, but I can say it is a nice hotel. We arrived late in the evening (midnight) and we almost missed our check-in, since there is noone at the reception desk from 12 to 6 a.m. Noone told us before, that this is not a 24h hotel, so that was a pretty unpleasant surprise. Other than that the hotel is nice. We stayed in two separate rooms for 1 person and they are huge, nicely furnished and clean. My shower was malfunctioning a bit, but otherwise the room was awesome. In the morning we had breakfast that was honestly a disappointment. There was little to choose from, no meat or eggs (ran out), no fresh fruits ... I've seen better in 3* restaurants. So to summarise - it's a nice hotel, but not worth its 4*.
Few minutes to downtown, quiet comfortable rooms and great breakfast. I had a great weekend there. Graz is worth for shopping, but also for culture (museum, jazz,...) Will come again on a weekend in autumn.
The hotel has been refurbished not too long ago. The room was clean and bright. Although it faced the main road, I could sleep with the window open. Wifi was reliable, and the breakfast offered some choices (though €16 are quite hefty). Parking in Graz is a nightmare. Fortunately, they offer underground parking (at €13 a night). The location near the station and old town makes the hotel a good starting point to explore Graz.
The location is not far from the city centre, but a bit outside. The hotel offers 4 star rooms and breakfast, but no restaurant or bar. Nice, spacious rooms, good beds. Parking is available, either in the yard or in the underground garage. If you are on business and just need a room and wifi, it is a very convenient place.
