Just got back from this fabulous hotel. First of all it is in the best location to have a relaxing beach break but close to the city also. The hotel reception is huge and luxurious with massive fresh display of flowers, comfortable chairs and at breakfast coffee tea and cava is available in this area. On arrival the reception staff were welcoming and informative. Our room was a city view room on the 6th floor and we slept well as there was double double glazing to stop any noise. We were in632 which had the morning sun. The room was spotless and very roomy built in wardrobes, safe deposit box which you had to pay for. There was a fridge but no tea or coffee making facilities. Large single beds put together to look like double really comfortable. Balcony with table chairs and dryer. The bathroom was spacious with a huge walk in shower which was powerful. The cleaning was immaculate. All the staff from top to bottom were friendly, helpful and professional. The restaurant for breakfast and evening meal was run really efficiently and the food choices were amazing. You could eat in or al fresco at breakfast and take a coffee or cava and sit on Terrence after breakfast until 10.30ish. The pool spa and gym area were also spotless and with breathtaking views. There was only entertainment on on tues and thurs in the roof top bar which was singers. Would have been nice for a few more evenings. The hotel had a marina bar on front of hotel with reasonably priced drinks from where you could watch the world go by along the beach promenade. We found this week long break so relaxing as it s on the beach front which is 3 klm long with loads of bars restaurants and shops, yet the other side of the hotel leads you into the vast city with numerous side streets in which you can get lost and discover different areas. It's a bit like a Pandora's box. There are also two indoor shopping centres one near the docks and one right at the end of the beach called la arena which has numerous brand names and designer shops. The local buses run not far from hotel and we caught the no 12 to vegueta which is the old town which is just 15 mins away and is full of culture and shops and bars. Well worth a day out. This holiday had a bit of everything but not for you if you want English bars and entertainment. This is a totally Spanish local experience so if this is your type of holiday we fully recommend it. The hotel is the best in the area so would definately recommend a stay there and we look forward to returning to it.
I travelled here with my partner and our three children aged 11 15 and 16 years old. We had a package with Jet 2 holidays, which did not include transfers but we used a company called canary forum who were great. It took 25 minutes from the airport. The staff here were all very friendly and welcoming from reception to chamber maids everyone had a smile and was pleasant. You will need to pay for your safe but it's only a small amount per day. You also can have a beach/pool towel but if you which to have a fresh one you will have to pay €2 per change. Our room was spacious and had a fold out bed for my youngest daughter she said it was comfortable and so were mine and my other daughters. ( my partner and his son were on the floor above us and their beds seem quite hard) I was on the first floor and paid extra for a sea view, it was lovely but received hardly any sun so hard to dry your towels and swimming things and as we were on the first floor the view was a bit more concealed than the floors higher up. The room is not ultra modern but had a great bathroom and was clean. There are not facilities to make a drink but an empty fridge to stock up with your own things from the local super market. We loved the roof top pool it was perfect and was heated. We all loved the Spa too, it's restricted to over 16 years of age after 12pm every day. But both my daughter loved it so much, there's a great view from the roof of the city and the beach. There are free sun beds on the beach just walk out the door and there you are. The sea and beach were clean and many people surf and paddle board along here too. There are walks along the promanade in both directions one way takes you to an auditorium and large shopping centre the other cafe bars and restaurants and lots of rock pools and views. It's easy to catch a bus to Vegueta which is the old part of Las Palmas and well worth a visit. Go up the cathedral tower for fab views. Breakfast in the hotel was lovely many breads pastries hot dishes fruit and drinks to suit any taste. Dinner was nice too a buffet style, I was happy with something freshly cooked on the grill most nights with salad and potatoes. My partner said something's in the hot trays were not overly warm. The desserts were nice and there was ice cream and a chocolate fountain every night. It could become quite repetitive after a while. But overall it was good. A special thank you to Rosi who was there every night to help my daughter with her egg allergy so she knew what was safe to eat. She even bought her some special pastries one morning. We had drinks from the bar and every thing was good. On our last day we left quite late and we're able to store our bags and use the facilities until our taxi came. We all had an excellent time here. It's not a super lively place but it suited us perfectly and would come again ❤️
This is a very good 4 star hotel, in a 5 star ,location. I agree totally with all the praise heaped on it. Any criticism in previous reports would seem to me to be mere niggles. The hotel is run efficiently and has excellent facilities.
There is a certain feeling that most of the money ran out after the entrance hall, restaurants and spa/pool had been built. "Oh merda, the rooms!", someone cried. "No money". But they are ok. Not big, crazily shaped Spanish pillows (long, very thin), no tea/coffee facilities, no kettle, safe not free (a stupidity if you ask me) and usually a shower, no bath. We couldn't get the air conditioning to work. But on the plus side it had a balcony, free wifi in the room, and beds were comfy. Lovely spa area with sauna, steam room (max 3 people), salt pool for floating, salt air room, small warm pool with jets and jacuzzi chairs. Very well thought out. Breakfast is amazing with every conceivable thing, even champagne and vodka (presumably for the visiting oligarchs).
Great city & marvellous Hotel - can't wait to return. Highly recommended. Staff, food and ambience were all excellent. Listed as a four star hotel but feels like five stars. Location is great right on the beach but on the doorsteps of the city as well.
Lovely clean hotel overlooking the beach & sea. All staff were very helpful throughout the hotel. Booked half board & pleasantly surprised at quality & choice of food at both breakfast & dinner - including fresh food cooked at the grill to order. Nice walks along the prom after dinner.
Have stayed in this hotel many times .It is in a superb position on the Playa Canteras a lovely long sandy beach . The hotel has recently been refurbished and has superb bathrooms. The Summum restaurant on the top floor is in a lovely position and serves good food Small pool on the top floor and a gym and fitness center. Roma restaurant and Marina bar on ground floor are good .Good breakfasts. My only complaint is that single rooms are allocated at the back of the hotel although they are good a sea view would be better.
Third time at Reina Isabel. This time for two weeks on halfboard. From the moment we checked in to the moment er left, just pure pleasure. The food is of high standard and the free spa is a nice bonus. This is obviously a very well managed hotel.
I can recommend this hotel , it's interior is beautiful facilities very good especially the gym on the 8 th floor over looking the beach , roof top pool is clean with plenty of sun beds . The staff were friendly and efficient , breakfast catered for all with gluten and dairy free
Booked this hotel through Trivago because it seemed good value last minute, but the photos didn't do it justice. The spa area on the roof was the best I've ever been in, Great location on the beach, good location for getting into the old town via bus. Have been to Gran Canaria before but stayed in the Brit resorts on the south side, can't recommend the capital enough as a place to stay. The Canary Islands are a true gem and Reina Isobel is where we will stay next time in Gran Can.
