We had a pleasant stay of 3 nights are the Wyndham in Surfers Paradise. The room is actually a one bedroom apartment with well equipped kitchen, a living room and nice views to the lagoon. The pool is on the back of the hotel, nice and quiet and a jacuzzi to relax after a long day. We loved how close it is to the center and the beach.
Had a short stay recently. Lovely big apartment with double balcony. Comfy bed & pillows. Full kitchen & everything you could want. Lovely pool & hot tub. Free pool towels. Parking in underground basement. Very close to bars, restaurants & beach. Almost opposite the sky tower which has fantastic views. We went at sunset & was wonderful. Staff all very friendly, helpful & informative. We were staying on the day of the "fire". Staff handled the evacuation very professionally & everyone got out quickly. Was kept informed at all times. A worrying situation but staff were very calming. Well done & no one hurt. Definitely recommend this hotel if visiting surfers paradise.
I had a top floor ocean view apartment. The apartment was clean and large. There are all needed equipment as: kitchen, wash machine, terasse, TV, WiFi, dining table etc. The bed was very comfortable and big. The view was amazing and especially sunrise. It's worth it. However, several equipment didn't work - microwave, lamp at work desk... Missing more sockets.
Haven’t stayed here before so thought we should try it out. Stayed in room 1706 which was on the top floor with high ceilings and it was fantastic. Very nice room. Very quick trip so didn’t get to check out anything else at the hotel but it was an easy walk to Cavill ave for dinner etc. only downside was housekeeping. Dirty microwave and empty beer can on the balcony so not very thorough but all in all a nice stay.
Stayed for two nights with our young children. Room was nice and location was pretty good, short walk to the beach and Cavill Ave. The main let down was the pool, the pool is lined with sand which appears to get stirred up and make it murky and uninviting. My wife and I didn't swim in it at all. It is a bit of a safety issue in my opinion because while my kids were swimming if they went under water it was that murky you couldn't see them until they resurfaced.
Very spacious rooms for a family holiday. Great location, although not exactly AT the beach, but only a short walking distance. Staff at reception very helpful. Very prompt service. Overall... Very good experience.
Good location. Close to all amenities. Paid extra money to be able to get an extra bed(was advised at the time of booking) phoned twice before arrival to confirm this but only to find out an outdated and absolutely useless sofa bed in the lounge. Slept two nights on sofa cushions on floor despite paying extra. Please take my advice and remove this sofa bed from room 1702 before someone sues you for their bad back. Visited this place on someone's recommendation but will not stay here again.
Staff have been nice so far but not at all an impressive hotel. When we visited the Wyndham at Fiji it was the most spectacular hotel but certainly isn’t here. Many hotels in Queensland have much better pool areas and although we have a lovely room with a beautiful view which looks clean at first, upon further inspection things are filthy and very worn which isn’t nice to see when you have children with you. See pictures attached. Not hard to dry clean a filthy lounge or clean curtains that have things spilled on them. The hotel needs a much better maintenance upkeep. We have another 10 days here and will still make the most of our holiday but definitely wouldn’t stay again. Not worth the price you pay at all.
I would not class the Wyndham Surfers Paradise a hotel, let alone give it any more than 2 stars! For the money they charge you could get much better options and actually feel like you’re staying in a hotel. Besides when you check in/out or pass staff in the lift you will not see anyone. The rooms are only serviced after a 6 day stay and you will be charged for everything. You get a limited number of towels (2), toilet rolls (2), dishwashing powder etc and then you have to pay. You will even be charged for a pool towel. They will charge you extra if your rubbish bin is not emptied and the dishwasher not emptied! Surely this is just a normal service in a hotel charging over $150 per night! Yes, the rooms are big but they are extremely dated and all the furniture needs replacing (at least 5 years ago) with big scraps/chunks taken out of things. Oh, and if you enjoy the sound of slamming doors this is the places for you because that’s a constant. You can also hear everything that is going on in your neighbours room, word for word. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else, this is nothing more than a holiday rental.
overall the locality is great but as usual the pool is bloody filthy. This is not just recent either , with parents being timeshare owners. The grime on the waterline is disgusting nd if on a good day you can see a foot below the water , well that would be lucky. Removing the sand that is making the water murky would be a solution. We had complained before and the response is obviously falling on deaf ears. Will be staying once again here soon though with friends so lets see if the problem is rectified.
