The rooms are great - Comfortable Bed, Great Shower and modern room. Auto blinds are are good way to keep the room cool and the low sensor lights are a nice touch in assisting with night visits to the bathroom. The pool area is good with plenty of shade umbrellas (heated pool) The gym & sauna are dated, but I would imagine that they would be included in the renovations that are taking place. Breakfast was honest, but again the restaurant that hosts the breakfast is a bit tired and as with the gym & sauna I am sure that will be in the renovation plans. The casino itself is nice, but standard as casinos go. The whole complex is undergoing renovations- the rooms have been completed as far as I could see and during my 3 night stay had no noise issues (I stayed Tues to Thurs) The Staff were nice but not outstanding.
I was here only overnight, quite briefly (a Saturday). It had been many years since I'd stayed at Star/Jupiter's and my last visit wasn't outstanding so I had some trepidation. All that said, I was impressed. The recent renovations have given the place a clean, modern feel. The room was very good, bed comfortable and importantly, free wi-fi and a blackout curtain. I had a light meal in the casual, 24 hour restaurant and it was pretty good. I didn't partake of night-life or gambling - I think it's fair to say that on a Saturday night, the atmosphere changes dramatically. Important to note that the Star isn't a Vegas-style casino and resort. There's not the same emphasis on garishness and glitz and for anyone who loves Vegas, it's likely they'd find Star a let-down. So, go in with the right expectations and it will be enjoyable and indeed, Broadbeach offers more than a few excellent places to eat and drink if Star doesn't meet your needs.
Booked an overnight stay... Room great. Staff excellent.. But that's where the compliments end.construction was everywhere. Limited our resort time.. But worst off was the food!! Dreadful! Who pays the money for their 5star dinning experience!?? Long lines. No communication to the guests. Only to be greated with sub average food! Truly unacceptable.. Still hungry and wanting room service. Dessert... Just as bad! 3scoops of ice cream with sprinkles $18! WTF.. Not good enough
I have been here with my girlfriend, the staff is really friendly and prepared , they try to help you in everything, The room was really nice, clean and spacious I will definitely go back next time I will be on the Gold Coast
lunch at Star Casino Food fantasy is a top place to eat, well set out, the food was fresh and plenty of it, the staff were very helpful and nothing was a problem, there was value for money with space between tables
The hotel casino is a choice to stay on the Gold Coast. Rooms are clean and bright and location is also quite good. The staff are friendly and helpful but I would say they are someone short of 5 star standards.
from when we pulled up in our car, the staff had a smile and were very helpful.. Reception was excellent and efficient...Our room had two queen beds which were really comfortable, looked out over the pool..There was no noise to trouble us..We were there for a concert, the venue was very good...Have seen people complain that they can't stand up and dance, well we were very happy that they can't as then everyone gets to see and enjoy the concert.. WiFi was excellent and free...Breakfast had everything you could have wanted, my omlette was great....Only downside, we wanted to stay longer but they were all booked out for a conference... Will definitely be back for a longer stay
What a beautiful place to spend an afternoon! It has amazing scenery both inside and out. Great for families, beanbags supplied for the kids & plenty of room to run around. The balcony is great for adults with reams of comfy seating. There was live music by a good female singer & a smokehouse BBQ outside. Also plenty of interesting food inside
The recent renovations to the hotel are first class. The rooms are excellent. We had a room with twin queen beds and it was very very comfortable. Well set out and even have a coffee machine. The bathroom is small but very very nice including the Locatine bath products.
Looking for a little reprieve from the blinging flashing noisy slot machines? Pop into the Garden Bar for a break! Great friendly efficient service. Good coffee menu Then off again to the Casino for more fun
