Very noisy room on highway. The kettle had dirty water in it with floaters. It was ok for overnight stay. At checkout there was no customer service and a lady yelled at me from car park, to leave keys on desk.
They would not honour the online booking made through hotels dot com. Even after I logged in and gave them every detail requested they still just wanted to sell their walk in room. And with the manager away they said there would be no refunds for over a week. Made me sit and wait an hour for a manager to come down to check the booking. Rude phone service and other guests also reported having trouble trying to get the room they paid for. Choose another place
Lots wrong with the cleanliness of this establishment. The mirror was completely cloudy and the finger smear indicated it was probably even checked and not bothered to be cleaned properly. Tap beside the fridge was greasy and dusty, and the tap behind the loo was dirty. The window tracks are filthy and black with whatever, and there were a couple of hairs in the shower recess. I couldn't get wifi, although it was apparently provided. The freezer was chockablock with ice that was freezing outside the freezer door too, and whatever you do, don't look behind that curtain in the kitchenette thingy. The mismatched cups didn't bother me too much. AT LEAST THERE WERE TOILETRIES :) basic as they were. I am quite sure the filthy, used bathmat was an accident though.
I was looking for Gold Coast accomdation with easy access to the hinterland. The Sunshine Beach resort met all my needs. It is about 500 metres from the beach - esy for a pre breakfast swim and then breakfast at the beach front cafe. Local eateries are plenty and within a 5 minute drive. While the motel looks mid 1970s it was clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only concern was that I wasnt given a key to the dead lock on the door. I didnt ask for one.
I booked this hotel over the Christmas/ New Year period and from the other reviews I wasn't expecting a lot, but I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly and quick check in. Had booked for 3 people and was expecting 1 queen and 1 single bed in room, so was happy when we arrived in the room to discover 3 beds. Meant no one had to share. Basic Kitchenette. However there were only 2 plates and cutlery for 2 people. Not a huge issue, we made it work. I am sure I could have requested more if I really wanted but wasn't a big deal. Close to Shopping Centre just a short walk down the street which was good to get some basics. Close to Burleigh Beach. Beds were comfy and air con made room comfortable. It's an older hotel, but the TV and air con looked like it had been upgraded recently. Wifi was very slow, couldn't connect to Netflix on the TV, so we just gave up and didn't use it. Pool and spa were good. Overall an enjoyable stay and would definitely stay here again.
People smoking and drinking around pool area and outside of designated asreas as stated in the guestbook. We were unable to use thepool because of this. Rooms are very very old and dated. Previous guests pubes in the bathroom. Not a place to chill out and relax.
For the price paid it was fine. Easy check in out of hours. Comfortable and spacious room with off street parking. Only gripe would be out dated bathroom. The wifi was also very slow and kept cutting me off.
This is a very cheap but basic place to stay on the Gold Coast. Nobody in reception during "staffed" hours to check us in - had to ring after hours number. Room was tidy but smelled terribly of bleach. And we were woken up at 630 am when the cleaner tried to let her self into our room because apparently our key had been returned (and then again at 9am). On the plus side it's in a great location, close to beach and still within walking distance to shopping etc (about an hour to Pacific Fair) or just a few minutes in the car.
I doubt you could beat this place for its price on the Gold Coast. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. Bathroom was clean and the water pressure was superb. It is in an excellent location with strip shops, Aldi, Coles, great cafes and restaurants just down the road. The beach is in walking distance as well. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you are on a budget and looking for a great place to stay then this is it. I would gladly stay here again.
The Sunshine Beach Resort in Miami on Gold Coast Hwy offers travelers and holiday makers very good value in a good location close to all the shops and the beach. The swimming pool is immaculate and clean. Has BBQ area. The rooms are a good size with a private balcony and there is a really big inbuilt desk space big enough for two people to work / surf online without rubbing shoulders. Free secure WiFi available and a friendly helpful host. The usual microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge full size ironing board and Iron and private bathroom. Off peak rates mid week were From $75 per night so I think this place rates very highly in terms of value for money. Miami is close too all the Gold Coast action and airport.
