Sunshine Beach Resort

This is a very cheap but basic place to stay on the Gold Coast. Nobody in reception during "staffed" hours to check us in - had to ring after hours number. Room was tidy but smelled terribly of bleach. And we were woken up at 630 am when the cleaner tried to let her self into our room because apparently our key had been returned (and then again at 9am). On the plus side it's in a great location, close to beach and still within walking distance to shopping etc (about an hour to Pacific Fair) or just a few minutes in the car.

I doubt you could beat this place for its price on the Gold Coast. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. Bathroom was clean and the water pressure was superb. It is in an excellent location with strip shops, Aldi, Coles, great cafes and restaurants just down the road. The beach is in walking distance as well. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you are on a budget and looking for a great place to stay then this is it. I would gladly stay here again.

The Sunshine Beach Resort in Miami on Gold Coast Hwy offers travelers and holiday makers very good value in a good location close to all the shops and the beach. The swimming pool is immaculate and clean. Has BBQ area. The rooms are a good size with a private balcony and there is a really big inbuilt desk space big enough for two people to work / surf online without rubbing shoulders. Free secure WiFi available and a friendly helpful host. The usual microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge full size ironing board and Iron and private bathroom. Off peak rates mid week were From $75 per night so I think this place rates very highly in terms of value for money. Miami is close too all the Gold Coast action and airport.

Stayed overnight here while visiting the Burleigh BBQ Festival at North Burleigh. I chose this place for two reasons, the closeness to the venue (was within walking distance) and it was the cheapest place in the area. It is very basic accomodation, but I found the motel to be very clean, the reception lady was very friendly and helpful, and the bed I slept in was probably one of the best nights sleep I have had for some time. Also the water pressure in the shower was fantastic (even better than home). I have no problem in recommending this place for good comfortable budget accomodation. Would be happy to stay again anytime.

This is a lovely place to stay with the family. Very close to the beach and you can walk along the beach to Surfers Paradise. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. Great facilities! Great Location and the staff were very friendly

Fantastic accomodation easy to find and super comfy beds, pool was fantastic, would been 5 stars if there was a restaurant for dinner and breakfasts but other than that I would definitely recommend staying here

This place is a very good value for money motel. Clean, big rooms (ours had a queen plus 2 x single beds, even though we only needed 1 queen size bed - so very handy if you travel with family). Also has a nice small pool, even though you are not far away from the beach (you do however need to walk/drive about 1km around the Gold Coast Hwy to reach the beach - beautiful beach there by the way). Wifi is provided but didn't seem to work for the 4 days we were there.

Price wise you can't do much better on the gold coast. Basic rooms and facilities but comfortable and filled with friendly staff. My partner and I extended our stay here and absolutely loved it. Would come back!

Firstly - THEY CHARGE AN EXTRA 2.5% to pay on any kind of credit AND debit card.. so its going to cost you more than the quote you get on any of the booking sites.... I've never had this issue in any other accommodation booked via any websites. It was nowhere near any kind of shop, so no way of nipping out to buy milk, or anything for breakfast. You would NEED to have a car if you are staying here. The room itself was pictured here with a balcony, we didn't have one and when we asked reception the next day we were told that actually only 4 rooms within the whole place had balconies (surely don't put that on their pictures then as it's a massive disappointment for people choosing this hotel over others due to the fact of having a balcony). We felt really disappointed and let down by this so asked if we could cancel and move hotels - we were told that we'd not get any money back, which is ridiculous as it is unlawful advertising to show amenities that you will get in a room and then not supply them. Our room was a tiny little box room. We only had one window which was almost at ceiling height and let no light in, it was like living in a cave. We could get more light if we left the bathroom door open as the bathroom had a window - but it stank horribly - so we couldn't. AC worked but was sooo loud!! WiFi didn't work at all during our 4 day stay. You also have to call the reception to get your key – so if you aren’t from Aus and your mobile doesn’t work, you’d be totally stuffed – I was lucky that I brought my Auzzie friend to check in with me. Also no plates or cutlery to actually be able to cook anything… It doesn't take much to impress me, and I think this is the first bad review I've given. However, overall an extremely awful stuffy place, far away from everything. Stay in Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach or somewhere at least near a shop. It cost us a LOT in Ubers to get around. Staff were friendly, we complained about our room and she did offer to move us, although not into one with a balcony as there are supposedly hardly any of them! There is plenty of parking. Pool is nice and clean, but small and could benefit from some sun loungers (these are pictured, but not actually there when you arrive).

When I checked in at 4.45 pm I was put in an adjoining room and found that I could hear everything that was going on next door. After 20 minutes I realised I had been placed in a room next to a prostitute. Was disgusted and went to reception but they were already closed. Had to ring an after hours number and finally got re-allocated another room. Trouble is is was cheap and nasty with minimal lighting, no bedside lamp, clock, clean cutlery or natural light along with a putrid smell. When I approached reception the next day I was told they do not discriminate and the prostitute was more than welcome. Endured this hovel for 2 nights and will never return.
