This complex is reasonably priced and quite tidy with decent sized rooms. We had a large group of women who booked many rooms for a hens weekend and a few of us didn’t quite get what we expected. For Eg I ordered a 2 bedroom apartment to share with my friend and when we arrived on the Saturday at about 3pm, there was no one on reception, even though checkin was not until 2 anyway, but had to talk to someone through a phone outside the door, to be told that they didn’t have any 2 bedroom units left and they had put us in 2 separate single bedrooms. Even though I booked 7months in advance. So not what we planned for but thought it should be ok. However on checking the rooms, one of the rooms absolutely wreaked with the smell of old Chinese food that had been left in a hot locked room....gross. We returned to the phone to advise them, to be told they were simply an answering service so nothing could be done until we saw reception the next morning. So we tried to air the room out by opening all the windows, turning the fan on but after a couple of hours it still smelled so we just locked it up and shared the other room. Upon complaining to the very young guy at the front desk the next day he really didn’t seem to know what to do, I pushed the issue saying that not only did we not get what we booked 7 mths in advance, the other room smelled. He said he didn’t know what could be done as we booked on a travel site and not direct with them. Another couple handed keys in while we were debating and complained that their aircon didn’t work at all (in Qld Jan summer!), the guy just looked at them dumbly and said “oh ok”. I continued to strongly assert how unhappy we were, and just decided to complain later. The guy did then call me about 1/2 hr later to offer an $80 reimbursement. So that was better than nothing. I know the other girls who booked other rooms had issues also, one of their rooms aircon didn’t work well either. Other than the smell the rooms were otherwise clean and tidy, the pool looked pretty good, but I wouldn’t rate the service highly, especially considering there is no assistance onsite all of the time if you have an issue. Location was fine for what we needed but it is a bit of a hike to the beach and shops.

I stayed for five nights when relocating for work and was happy with the price. My room was spacious and clean. The swimming pool and spa are great. When the drier needed fixing it was done within 2 hours of reporting. No elevator but good value.

I got a good deal for the accomodation so it was worth what I paid. No elevators which suck, was stuck carrying luggage feom the carpark up to 3rd floor. mismatched crockery with some only having 2 to the set. missing utensils and no pans???? the staff were helpful and very friendly. pleasantly surprised at the spa pool. good temperature for the cool nights. the saving grace for this accomodation was the location. 7 minute walk to the heart of surfers.

Rooms were dirty, staff were rude and there was a lack of pillow and blankets. There isn't an elevator, so I was stuck carrying 2, 22 kg bags up a lot of stairs. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star! Wasn't a pleasant stay and we will not be returning here ever again. Definitely don't recommend this place to anyone.

The penthouse. The shower door was broken, the toilet leaked, the hair dryer made a noise, the fry pan dirty, it had dried food on it, we had a crockery set for 4 there was 6 of us, dishwasher broken.

mould in both showers, the toilet is leaking, grime and scum build up everywhere, the room was filthy like it doesnt even get cleaned. Not worth the money you pay. No pram access and the stairs smelt like cigarette smoke because they have smoking allowed in rooms! Will NEVER go back.

Hotel was in a great area, but as for our room it was not worth what I paid. Had mould on the ceiling, carpet was filthy, shower door was broken, no air con as it was broken, bad smell in the rooms. Would not stay at this hotel again.

Great staff and good location. Extremely expensive wifi. The pool area was nice and we really liked the big apartment. It was clean and walking distance to the main city. We would definitely go back again!

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days in January 17 and I found the place to be quite good. I have stayed at various ageing hotels and resorts and found this one to be the best. People need to consider that most of these places were built decades ago and unless you are prepared to pay the $ for places like SALT newly built on the beachfront then its hard to make comparisons with anything else. We liked: • Secure car park • Clean spa and pool • Beautiful garden • Ceiling fans in bedrooms • Beds are ok (ie not bad) We know that most rooms are fitted out differently so my comments are based on the room I stayed in. • Couch is very groovy but not comfortable • Freezer was temperamental did not freeze well.

My girlfriends and i stayed here on our girls weekend away the parking was secure the room was lovely and clean the pool and spa was great we all enjoyed our stay it was only a 10 min walk to the main streets of surfers paradise staff were lovely too we will be back thank you sunset island
