Arrived here for a great weekend away. Reception staff were nice but first night we paid $140 per night and the next 2 nights were $480 for the same room only a little dirtier. Feeling a little ripped off. Floors very slippery pool was dirty and spa was cold. Very standard room for a superior room. After a day of walking around the beaches we arrived back at the motel exhausted to find there was no parking. The man at reception so rudely told us to park elsewhere. The closest park away was around a half a kilometre away with a steep hill. We know management doesn’t care with the attitude from the front desk staff and no signage anywhere stating that there is only around 20 parking spaces for 50 odd cars. As an older couple trying to soak the beauty of the surrounds don’t waste your money here
Great location, rates a bit high for quality of rooms, layout of rooms not really suitable for a family trip, no cooking facilities, needs a bit of updating! Not sure if we would go back for a long stay but maybe a weekend would be ok!
Can remember going to this Hotel in my teens, now in my 70's, it has had an obvious upgrade since then, our room was very comfortable but bathroom needs a do over. Very pleasant staff but give the breakfast buffet a miss, luke warm scrambled eggs and bacon and didn't bother trying sausages etc. so try a short walk to numerous cafes on esplanade. Otherwise a pleasant stay.
This stay featured the following problems Room not ready on time No parking available Room not clean Staff not friendly Long wait to checkin Pool not clean Pool chairs dirty/rusty Expensive for what it is Overall an unpleasant stay
A hotel located in greenmount, between the Rainbow Bay and Coolangatta beach, ideal for those who want to practice surf, because it is very close to Snapper Rocks, mythical surf point throughout Australia and where each year have one of the events of WCT. Hotel that appears to have some years but properly updated and well equipped. Since we were present in the Australian winter, we don't enjoy the swimming pool because in much part of the day, this is mostly in the shade and the water don't stay warm. In addition to the swimming pool there is an area where there is a jacuzzi and there the sun is allways present throughout the day. There is also an area where there is a pool table. The hotel is in a strategic area for quiet and easy access to beaches, but to move to restaurants, bars and fun areas is necessary to traverse some distances, some between 500 and 1500 metres. The hotel is relatively remote to areas that have more nightlife with more noise, we fill this at the friday and saturday nights. Is the ideal hotel for anyone who needs to recover energy, very close to the beach and quiet in day and night (that was what we wanted). The only point that we regard as less positive is that the wi-fi is paid in any point of the hotel, taking in the hall of entrance input 3 computers to access the web (payable too).
Booked one night here in August 2017 with my husband and two children. We were lucky enough to get a parking space in the very limited car park. The spacious lobby/reception area is quite deceiving as it gives the impression of a more superior hotel. This is not the case! We stayed in 502. The room itself was awful. It was dirty, dated and had broken fixtures and fittings including electrical switches and the curtains didn't even close! We complained and were offered a choice of two other rooms either side of our original room but these were of s similar poor standard. We chose to move to 503 as at least the curtains closed but again the room was dirty especially the bathroom. Luckily, we didn't spend much time in our room and we had only booked for one night. The breakfast was of a poor standard with poor quality produce and a minimal selection. Whilst on a positive note, they didn't charge for the children. This hotel would suit backpackers, surfers or people who are looking for a place to simply lay their head. Its in a great position and its proximity to the beach is fantastic. I wouldn't recommend it though as I feel it is well over priced for the standard offered.
2nd September 2017 to 3rd September 2017 We stayed here because we have a wedding on 2nd September the room was clean okay for 1 night (I wouldn't like to stay for a week). We were in 510 you could slighly hear the road noise at night but of a day you could hear easily but wasn't a problem for us. My only complaint was we went to the wedding but when we came back there wasn't enough room to put our car as not enough parking for the guest. Luckily are relatives were somewhere else and we could park out car there but it was a hassle. But I don't see them fixing that problem any time soon.
I love this old joint. Brings back plenty of memories from when we would stay here in the 80's & early 90's. Got to take my old school mates here on the weekend. We finished school in the late, late 80's. Perfect place for us all to step back in time. Its not super modern & definately not 5 star but, the rooms are clean, beds are comfy, the linen is fresh, the breakfast is sensational & the staff do a cracker of a job. Thanks again to all the team at Greenmount Beach Hotel.
Understand hotel is to be demolished next year and site redeveloped. Wish we had known this before we booked, as room & service both below expectation. Fittings extremely dated and tired, and staff levels too low. Breakfast reasonable. Best feature of Greenmount is the location - beautiful views.
More of a motel room than a hotel. Fittings a little old and tired but the bed was comfortable. You probably get what you pay for at this hotel ... if all you're looking for is a comfortable bed and a basic bathroom then this will be fine. If you plan to spend time in the hotel then another, more modern, resort would be worth the extra $$$
