The room was disgusting in no uncertain terms - cockroaches, bedbugs, and a mattress that matched the decor, literally looked like it’s from the 1970s. Now they did switch us two floors up into a much better room, but not before we endured a night of misery in what appeared to be a horror movie. It’s time to update these disgusting rooms people, disgraceful.
The location is good. Staff are helpful. The washroom is a huge problem. No shower curtain or door. So the floor becomes wet and very inconvenient. No housekeeping the whole 4 days stay. So continuously living in filthy conditions. Had to take out our own garbage. Also because no housekeeping and no phone in room, had to keep going to the reception to ask for simple things like toilet papers and fresh towels. No fridge, had to use fridge at the reception. Won’t really recommend unless you are on real tight budget. It was $30 a day.
I liked the room, service and location.
The bathroom though is annoyingly a wet room, so after showering tge whoke BR is a mess, and with only one faucet in the sink
Very traditional, in the old part of Penang. Very basic, but the price is righr

Disliked: Room comfort
Be wary
Staff were fine. Room was very basic, no amenities provided at all. Was awoken every night at 430am by some strange noise, I think coming from the pipes, then again at 6 from the mosque call to prayer nearby. WiFi wasn't great, could only use it on 2 devices. No housekeeping
Check-in was smooth and efficent and staff there was very helpful, especially the lady working at counter who later we found out is the female boss was very helpful with directions and suggestions. The housekeeping was done very well, even though he or she forgot to provide us with free bottled water after we check-in to our room and forgot to change our towel after staying 1 night. Overall was a very pleasant stay at the hotel.
in the center city. walkable to some of the attractions place. quiet and easy to get food nearby. it is an old type of building but u have what you need in this hotel. elevator, hot drinking water. free car park. air cond. hot shower water. just you have to bring your own brush.

Liked: Staff & service
Walking distance to most of the street food areas.
Problem with water. Without water for over 24 hours. Offered a room to take shower
Halfway through lost water presure, had to rinse with bottled water.
Very good location, but very noisy in the night. Certainly not a 3 star hotel.
Rusty and smelly hallway, lift and room. Not like the pictures on the website, no towel, hand wash, or shampoo.
