We had a great time going to the malls where things were very cheap. The bar was great although the drinks were very expensive. I think it has the record which beats Singapore.

Stayed 1 night in deluxe room: Room size is ok. Toilet size is also ok. Good shower area with a lot of space. Wifi connection in room is available but the speed is not consistent. Parking inside the hotel is available and quite a lot of empty lots on saturday night. Check in was a bit slow.

We stayed 3 nights in Eastin. Our room was damp and smelled so. When we got in, the sink stopper didn't work. The hotel immediately sent people over to fix it, The hotel hires a band and a couple of singers on that sang on the first floor each night we were there. The music was too loud and in my opinion was a minus to the style of the hotel. The bed sheet was dirty (as if a shoe had stepped on it before the sheet was spread) when I looked on the third day. (Before then it was dark when we went to bed.) By then I didn't want to guess why it was that way. The location to us was great because we didn't want to stay in Georgetown. It's next to the Queensbay Mall, which is quite nice. Right between the hotel and the mall is Ultimaxx Cafe, which offers a good variety of local dishes. Before we went, we had read a lot about how taxi drivers in Penang don't like to run their meters. We knew why during our stay. For example, the meter fare is about 12 Ringgits from the hotel to the airport, but the hotel told us upfront that the "standard" fee is 35 Ringgits, and that's how much we paid. This says more about Penang than the hotel per se, I think.

Had everything I was looking for, good amenities, good service, restaurant, bar and a great location.
