We really enjoyed our stay at Little Bear. Loved waking up and seeing the mountains from the bed. There are a few quirks, but you work with it. Beautiful location. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Nice cabin, but the over abundance of ladybugs and rats under the floor made the stay a bit unsettling. A lack of privacy due to no window covering on the lower half of the cabin was a down side. I’m not sure I would stay in this cabin a second time.

There’s a narrow spiral staircase that made me nervous. It’s wooden and creaks as you step. But it’s ingenuously made, possibly by hand. The cabin has lots of little touches like that that tell you it was lovingly built and decorated. The mural downstairs is the most obvious example, but there’s also an antique dresser for the master bath’s sink, etc. The hot tub was great. It has a bar that makes it possible for one person to remove the cover. The description on the Jackson Mountain rentals app warns that a 4-wheel drive is recommended. It would’ve been good to know that when we reserved it. It’s okay in warm weather, but the narrow and steep mountain roads are stressful. There’s a plug outside that we used to plug in our EV, which made us happy. The shower is a bit narrow, so I used the big tub with a spray nozzle. That was interesting. I think somewhere it claims the cabin has a gas grill but it doesn’t.
