We stayed at 13 hotels in Scotland/Ireland and one had to be last and this was in the mix. Nothing special, not good location. No coffee pot in room, no outlet near bed for medical machine. The front desk had to come manipulate are keys to get the elevator to work. Stay elsewhere

We enjoyed every second of our stay from the moment we arrived. The receptionist that greeted us called Aisling was extremely helpful, friendly and bubbly. She genuinely went above and beyond to build a personal rapport with customers. The facilities on site were second to none. The bar/ restaurant area were constantly busy which an obvious good sign. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. This hotel would be ideal for business trips, couples and also great for family visits. We will be sure to stay there when returning to Galway.

Just back from a one night stay in this hotel. This hotel is not located in the city centre but a bus runs regularly outside the hotel to Eyre Square and back. Great facilities, fantastic staff, they couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the buffet food being topped up regularly so it was very fresh. But it's the small touches that make the difference. It was our anniversary and when we arrived in the room there was card and chocolates on arrival. Just a word of warning on booking treatments they will ring you to confirm your booking this was great but not at 9am on a Sunday morning when you don't have the kids with you. They probably get a few non shows so I can understand why they call. On the flip side the treatment was very good and they have a hot tub outside. Overall I think this hotel ticks all the boxes. Is good value for Galway, we will turn with or without the kids.

We have spent New Year 2017 & 2014, we had a great time on both occasions. 2014 we had the Wren Boys visit raising money for Charity. Most Irish people have never come across them. Great food, crack(laughter & jokes) & a true Irish Pub.

The Clybaun was a very pleasant surprise! My niece lives in Knocknacarra, and I chose the hotel based on location. The lobby is large and grand. The spa, gym and swimming pool, which are free to guests, are wonderful. Don't forget your bathing suit and swim cap. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet complete with eggs, sausages, Irish bacon and black pudding. The price of 9.5 euros seemed reasonable. My niece has had dinner there and said that it was excellent! All of the furnishings at the hotel are in need of updating, but that will not deter me from staying there again. The staff is lovely and friendly, especially Ann, who made me feel very welcome!

We visited here for New Year's Eve 2017. On arrival - we arrived about 3.30pm travelling for four hours from County Armagh - our room was not ready!! Were told it would be 20 minutes - we never got our room until 4.45! They were extremely busy but this is not really acceptable for a 4-Star Hotel. Other than that the hotel was excellent - really beautiful and cosy and has everything you need. Rooms are lovely. Service very good. We had a meal the first night and the food was excellent.

We had a Nollaig na Mban lunch here on sat 6th Jan 2018, 24 ladies enjoyer a wonderful lunch. The food was excellent the staff were friendly and efficient. Overall it was a great afternoon. Compliments to all concerned keep doing what you are doing. We will be back

Came for a weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary. The staff were friendly and accomodating, the girls in front desk were very helpful, giving recommendations for restuarants. Got a hot stone massage which was excellent, they also have brilliant deals for treatments. Hotel was in an excellent location, 5 minute drive from the city centre and even less from the main part of Salthill. Would definitely come back!

We (2 adults and an 8-year old) stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August in a "Family Room Standard" paying an average of 139 euros per night. My daughter loved the hotel and the staircase, in particular, because it was "so fancy." This hotel catered to a lot of bus tour guests so there were quite a few seniors around but only one elevator. It was much faster to take the stairs. We ate supper in the restaurant twice; very suitable for family dinners with many booths and child-friendly food. We enjoyed the indoor pool; there is also an outdoor hot tub. The parking lot was quite spacious so easy to park. This hotel seems to be out in the suburbs which could be an issue for some people if you like walking around town. With a child, though, we were happy to stay at the hotel for the evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel although keep in mind, it is more of a suburban location so better for those who enjoy quiet evenings.

We enjoyed our stay here, beautifully decorated and spacious reception areas and clean comfortable rooms (these could be stuffy at times). The food was excellent, clean plates every time and it was nice to see some seafood on the menu. Our only complaint was that they wouldn't do a child's portion of carbonara. We've experienced this before in other restraunts and find it a bit shortsighted. The leisure facilities were excellent and we enjoyed the Canadian hottub. However what made this hotel stand out for us was the service, all of the staff were keen to help and food was served promptly.
