The food was horrible. The bathtub was difficult to get in and out of as well as stand up . The room itself was nice and clean and comfortable staff was friendly but not overwhelmingly helpful
Enjoyed everything about our stay. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
We booked one night and found the room not well kept or in good condition. The toilet plumbing gurgled for 10+ minutes after each flush, the shower knob was corroded and broken, the bathroom light buzzed loudly and the worst of it was the silverfish that scurried around the bathroom floor in the middle of the night. Awful and not worth the money. Plus walls paper thin - pub music heard until midnight.
The staff was friendly, it looked like the amenities were pretty nice but we did not use any of them. Everything was nice enough but there were a few issues with the room itself, ie. the sink, toilet, bathroom door not working as they should. In addition, wifi is ONLY available in the lobby which was not clear on the description. overall it was ok but too expensive for what you get.
The place reminded me of one of the large motor hotels you see along the highways in the States. It was okay, but there was nothing exceptional about it. We ended up there because all the hotels in town were full because of the Volvo Ocean Race festival. It's too far from town for people without cars. The local bus service is ideosyncratic at best (that's an understatement). Taxis are okay, but can get expensive. We spoke with other American tourists who had better experiences at the Galway B&B's. One last comment, on the live music in the bar. One of the duet was over-amplified and drowned out the other. And covers of Cat Stevens, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams were not quite what we were expecting.
