Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk

The hotel was clean, the staff lacked English language ability but that was not a problem my Japanese is OK, the WiFi (which is my biggest problem) was on the website free, this is not the case the WiFi in the room in the hotel details was said to have been under renovation so I had to pay an additional $10.00 for it as well as another service charge for the room.

Hotel is behind times. NO FREE WIFI. I have stayed in cheap hotels in Thailand and Philipines and bali and all had free wifi. For price this hotel can give wifi. No wifi for even Executive rooms without paying for it and again - need to make phone call every time you want to connect using MacBooks. Previously one had to plug in cables for internet - but I informed them my MacBook and all new ones do not have internet cable hookup and use High Speed Internet. Easy to keep pace with technology - but maybe not for this hotel which has an on the premises Internet office and internet manager. 2. Wifi does not work with MAC/Apple Macbook Pro, etc until you call a number (in India) each time you want to use your Macbook. This hotel's wifi supports Microsoft computer no problem apparently. But what a hassle in this day and age of technology to have to call India every time want to use the Macbook. 3. This hotel remodeled there fine sushi bar 2 times in 2 years - 1st turned it into a MacDonalds look a like or KFC, and then into a Denny's type booth restaurant - definitely no longer Japanese sushi or elegant atmosphere as previously. Wasted money which they could have done to have good Wifi for all computers.

Every time attempted to connect to internet had to call a phone number to get it connected (in India ?). This hotels wifi supports ONLY Microsoft laptops. Very surprising. Couple years ago they only had landline hook up for internt, but as everyone knows Apple stays up with new tech and did away with landline connection in favor of High Speed internet. This hotel was in the 'dark ages' ahahaha. They remodeled their sushi bar 2 times in 2 years. Now what was an outstanding sushi bar looked more like a MacDonalds and now looks like a Denny's vs a sushi bar. Sad waste of money by what used to be intelligent management. Accordingly I did not return and go to Nikkos Hotel in lieu of Seahawk. If you have Apple laptop, I do not recommend this hotel. If you do not care to use your professional Macbook - then have at it.

Everything was very good! All staffs were so nice and food was so tasty! I give A+ for this hotel! I think this hotel has so beautiful location and I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone! In order to make this hotel more better and perfect, the hotel management should make all rooms non smoking!!

I paid over $ 200 for Executive room; but no wifi. 3 years ago I told Hilton Seahawk Hotel, Fukuoka that newer computers were removing connection for a 'land line" computer internet hook-up and going to only wifi. Not only was there no wifi in Executive room but in no rooms in this hotel. You must pay 499 yen for 24 hours or 999 yen for 48 hours, however, it is not compatible with Apple computers. Every single time it is used - must call an 800 telephone number to get it to work again. I have stayed at very cheap hotels in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Bali and all had free wifi. Only the very cheapest hotels required you go to lobby to use wifi. China hotels have free wifi and all work with Apple computers. Ah, but this Seahawk hotel also has wifi in the lobby (no chairs not tables but areas to sit), but who wants to sit in lobby to do their work or needs on computer when you pay or Executive or other rooms? I was up all night trying to get some things submitted and check status of important items to no avail. Finally at 5:00 am I called for assistance again. He said MS products work perfectly fine on their ISP but not Apple products. So why not tell guests this in big letters and save them from wasting their time and money? I finally went up to the Executive Lounge and there free wifi worked with Apple computers. However, it is rude (I think) to sit in Executive Lounge (it is small and few tables) for hours during breakfast, tea time , or cocktail hours to use computer and prevent others from access to ExecLounge. I saw people being turned away due to no empty tables in the lounge, however, they would expeditiously call the room for those persons as soon as a table opened up. They have changed their sushi bar 3 times in 3 years. In 2013 the sushi bar looked more like a McDonalds or KFC than a sushi bar. It was always empty when I went there. It looked like who ever designed it had never seen or been to a sushi bar in their lifetime. Now 2014 has 3rd sushi bar and it looks more like Euorpean bistro than sushi bar. It is more like a cafe/pub mix now. The best Sushi bar was the 1st one they had up until 2012. I am positive Mr Hilton, nor Ms Paris Hilton had any say in this wasted money and effort for such low standard in sushi bar.. just call it a bar now or Denny's. Instead of wasting their money on remodeling the sushi bar 3 times, this hotel by Hilton should spend more efforts to get a working and dedicated ISP which can support Apple computers. To have people pay or wifi in such a hotel is absurd and it is ludicrous to hire ANY ISP that does not work with Apple computer products. They should IMMEDIATELY terminate their contracts with their present ISP and get a good wifi that is on same standards as Hilton. There are many other hotels in Fukuoka and they are where to go now since Hilton Seahawk is being so picky to get every single yen out of you possible and provide no service for real working people. If you do not have an Apple computer or do not ever want to use it in the hotel, then Seahawk is fine, but if you expect more from hotel providers then look elsewhere in Fukuoka at this time. I prefer Apple computers so I will not be returning to Seahawk despite that I go there every year. All things change and it is time or me to change hotels also thanks to someone's idea to hire such a low quality and insufficient ISP.

Excellent hotel! Plus: great decor, friendly staff, large clean rooms, nice gym, located right next to baseball stadium, 24 hour mini mart in hote; Minuses: not centrally located, needed to walk a bit to the subway line Overall great!!

the location was number one for us, near shops , walking along the beach, near baseball stadium. the view of the waters and the islands was spectacular , plus the mountain ranges, the view breathtaking ....the sea hawks were flying everywhere amongst the crows and that was great fun to watch outside of our bedroom window. There is free WIFI in the lobby, that is a plus. One thing we really disliked, agressive MESSAGE services, I tried to ignore in the middle of the night but the TV comes on ,over and over and over again when I try shutting it down to remind me there is a message for us ....we were trying to sleep . I didnt like hauling our bags to the room, service wasn`t tops, the only pool we had to pay for and that was okay until the kids arrived and then it got loud within the indoor pool...the saunas and steam room worked well and included in the price. I like a cool room and there was no adjusting the temperture in the room, so I thought it too hot for my taste. The foods were expensive and tasted okay, I prefered the snacks in the Hilton grocery store, very tasty fried fish cakes etc

The view was awsome and the room nice, but the bed was too firm for me, still a great one night stay.

Absolutely delightful hotel and staff. Great value on the this site. There are add-ons such as JPY1500/night for parking. The gym is free but the pool is not. About a dozen in-house restaurants but quite a walk to others.

Taxi ride (via toll road) is 3,000 yen but quick and less / no traffic. Shopping convenient inside hotel shops and also nearby Seahawk town (cinema, starbucks, Hard Rock Cafe, and sports shops from bicycles to clothing, are few of many available to you). Hotel has wedding dress and beautiful wedding area. You can rent wedding Kimono or buy wedding dress all here in one stop. Also close walk to tower, beach, and beautiful sea views available from hotel and from many restaurants in hotel as well. Every time I stay here I feel like I am home and everyone wants to assist, no matter if you want to get hair bleach blond or need emergency sewing. The staff is amazing at what they can find for you needs, and not far from hotel. There is also bus transportation from airport to hotel and train under hotel at low prices. Kabuki not far from hotel if your like me and like Japanese theatre. Sea Hawk baseball team stadium next to hotel (1 1/2 minute walk) and you can shake team members hands or put your hand in theirs just like California's Chinese theatre stars hand prints - but here they also have bronze molds of players hands so you can hold and shake if you desire. Great for children also !! Rooms have bed robes, but if too small they can bring larger yukatas from upstairs to fit you if requested.

We enjoyed our time at the Hilton, but we were a little discouraged by the fact that just about everything cost extra. When I mean extra, I mean a lot. To go to the pool cost an extra 1,500 Yen! Very nice staff and a very nice hotel overall. Our room however was pretty small and we had a view of the hotel's lounge area. I guess that is what you can expect if you book without upgrading.

it was a nice hotel, however, I thought the price was a little too high. Location isn't that good if you want to travel around.

The Hotel is located at the foot of the Sea of Japan and makes for easy leisurely walks along the sea with gentle sea breezes. The public transportation orignates at the first floor of the hotel. If you need a taxi there are always a dozen or more waiting. The location is perfect if you want to walk to a local park, the Fukuoka Tower, visit the Major League baseball team the Soft Bank Hawks, or enjoy an evening at the Hard Rock Cafe. The dining and bar at the top of the hotel is a must visit both during the day and in the evening. The views are spectacular. The views from our room on the 17th floor were also spectacular. On Sunday we enjoyed the best breakfast ever with both Japanese and American style breakfasts. The French Toast was the best we have ever eaten anywhere.

The hotel was beautiful and most convenient to my business with the Korean Consulate in Fukuoka. But the best thing about it was the standard of service...definitely deserving of five stars and then some! The staff went all out to be helpful and friendly. I would recommend the hotel to anyone just on the service alone. I was there on business, but tourists might also want the shops to be open longer hours and to feature a few more locally produced items. But everything else was perfection!
