Went to New Brunswick to drop of a couple dogs that were being saved from a cruel world in Quebec. Once we arrived to our hotel, we realized it was Remembrance Day and not too much was open.So we decided to check in and eat at the restaurant that was located at the hotel. Check in was pleasant, the lady at the desk was polite and knowledgeable. She gave us a room with two double beds even though we were a couple. I asked if I could pay cash or debit at checkout instead of charging my credit card and she assured me that I could The room I booked came with breakfast, which was served at the same restaurant we were to eat at that evening. We went up to our room, which was 413. We were situated in between a bunch of hockey children that seemed to have control of the whole floor. There were some shenanigans but most of it was over by 10:30. The room was cozy and a good size. The décor of the room was tasteful and modern. The beds were comfy and clean. The bathroom had some up grades but did not look like the pictures on the booking site I was on. It served it purpose and was nice to wash up after snuggles with doggies for 10 hrs. The room had everything you would expect to have except robes. We ordered a bottle of wine to the room and made a reservation with the restaurant in the lobby called The Catch. We booked for 7:30pm. The Catch We showed up a couple minutes early to get a seat. The place was pretty empty, which we were surprised as the hotel was packed. We checked reviews online and it came with 4.5 star rating. We were excited as the reviews boasted of the chef there and the elegance of each dish. We started with a bottle of white wine that was Canadian. It was good and reasonably priced. We went on to order our appetizers which was the charcuterie board which consisted of rabbit sausage, duck, wild boar and possibly bison, It was to also have chutney and candied nuts and the cheese plate. Which the waitress needed to ask if they even had a cheese plate at the restaurant as it was on the dessert menu rather than the main menu. She returned 5 min later to inform us that they did not have the charcuterie board available, which was a huge disappointment. After waiting about 40 min we got our cheese plate which consisted of 5 types of cheese cut into small triangles and was paired with some grapes. We were hoping for some jellies, compote or even chutney but was sadly disappointed that it didn’t even come with bread. We asked her to get some and she returned with two hot rolls and some butter😒. About ten minutes later she returned with crostini’s and let us know that they were suppose to go with the cheese plate🙄. She also took our main orders. Troy choose the filet and choose the maple glazed salmon. We both added lobster to our plate from the customize your dinner list to be denied once again as they did not have any lobster to offer. 😡 When we got dinner it was tasty and actually quite good. We ended it with a glass of red which was almost 16$ bucks and the crème brûlée with bacon. The next morning we woke up to our bill slid under our door with my credit card already charged, which annoyed me as I wanted to pay by debit. We packed up and went to deal with the credit card charges and check out. We sorted all that out and went to out our luggage into our vehicle and return for our inclusive breakfast, which was at The Catch. We get seated and told them we are there to eat of free breakfast. She informed me that we either needed a voucher or to charge it to our room. We had to go back to the front desk and figure things out. Turns out I have to eat breakfast before checking out and paying for the room as the voucher only covers 41.00$ and we will be charged for anything above that cost. Which I found weird as they had already charged my credit card as of 7:30 that morning. Anyways we got checked back in and went and enjoyed the buffet that they offered which had all the amenities that breakfast would offer. My boyfriend loved the fact that they left a craft of coffee on the table instead of having to wait for a top up. The buffet was warm and the food was of decent quality. After we ate we went to check out again and had to wait as all the hockey kids were checking out at this time as well. 😕 we owed an additional $2.45 for breakfast. We paid and that was the end of that. Grounds were nice and I can see it being a happening spot in the summer as they have an outside bar, pool area and a great view of the St. John’s river.
I almost could hardly wait to return home to write my review to express how wonderful our stay was. We were greeted with a warm welcome by all staff and were accommodated without any issues with my added requests. My son and his new bride booked several rooms for their wedding and everything was just perfect. A SPECIAL thanks go out to all staff, especially the Manager of the CATCH restaurant and her staff...namely Mindy who helped organize having a 'secret' wedding cake made - which was just beautiful. Thank you Janice Godfrey! Thank you to Andrea who was so helpful and assisted with the fine details of having the cake presented! Thank you to lovely Fany - a treasure indeed. All my wishes were granted even though she had no idea what was to come. Last but not least a big thank you to Ken at reception...you were such a pleasure to deal with and made it all fall into place without a hitch! You all made our stay at the Delta such a memorable one for a wonderful occasion. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
I stayed at this hotel for five nights and it was fabulous experience. The service was amazing and the rooms were clean and beautiful. The surrounding area is lovely and I enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. Top-notch service and excellent food are also included. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. You won’t regret it!
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the last year. We travel to Fredericton for business. It is a really nice hotel. We have platinum elite status so we usually get a suite upgrade. The rooms in this hotel are very nice. We really enjoy the club lounge at this hotel. The lady who works at the lounge in the evening is so pleasant. We had a very enjoyable conversation with her on our last stay. We really liked the snacks in the evening at the club lounge. I wish I had gotten the lady's name, but she is always there in the evening. I couldn't read her name tag ( no glasses). I find the beds here very comfortable although I would prefer a heavier comforter. The hotel is located on the St John River. The setting is very tranquil with incredible river views. There is a lovely path that runs along the river to downtown. We enjoyed it immensely. The food in the dining room is great. The staff is fantastic too. Andrew served us on a couple of occasions, he was really nice and professional. The gift shop in this hotel is one of the best i've seen. I'm sure it is not just used by hotel guests. I always go look around and I almost always buy something there. They have great hours, they open early and stay open late. They have a great gym, that we both enjoyed. The indoor pool was closed for maintenance the last two times we stayed here, but I have used it before and it is really nice. I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to Fredericton and you are looking to stay in an upscale hotel with all the amenities. Walk around the main level and the second level and look at all the amazing artwork. The nicest collection I've seen in a hotel in Canada.
I like staying at the Delta in Fredericton because it is close to the city centre (20 min walk), but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. It is situated right on the river, giving it the feel of a resort. In the autumn, the colours across the water are spectacular! The rooms are a good size for a family to spread out in. I like the work station in the room. Lots of space to plug in devices, play games, etc. One cool thing they provide is the ability to connect your laptop, game system, or other device directly to the big screen tv in the room. My only complaint are that the mattress was too firm (as in most hotels), the toilet whistled all night (rm. 521), and the shower valve fell off and I was forced to do a little late evening plumbing. Can't wait to come back here the next time I overnight in Fredericton.
Lovely hotel along the gorgeous Saint John River. Perfect for staying the weekend, a week's holiday or even just to enjoy a meal and the view! Staff are very kind, very professional. A jewel in a very pretty city.
Just spent a great fall season week-end in Fredericton, NB. We stayed at the Delta Hotel and had a great time. Our fifth floor room had a gorgeous view of the St. John river and the trees with their pretty fall color change. The room itself was immaculate, spacious, with very comfortable beds. There is a beautiful river walk from the hotel to downtown Fredericton, which we went on daily, during our stay. I also want to mention the food in the dining room is absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, often using local ingredients. Friendly front desk/reception/dining room staff- people with always helpful information, made our stay even more pleasant. Thanks Delta Fredericton, for your tremendous hospitality.
Beautiful views of the river from the 7th floor, the room was spacious, extremely clean and quiet. Easy access parking, the time between waiting for elevators and getting to your room is unusually short for a hotel this size. Each floor has a snack room, the room itself has a small coffee maker. Definitely recommend including your breakfast when getting a room - you're allowed up to $41 per couple and it's well worth the investment.
We had a nice spacious, clean room and the bed was very comfortable. It was very busy and noisy when we stayed as there was a big wedding party. There is a restaurant on site, which was empty. Overall not a bad place to stay.
During a recent business trip I stayed 3 nights at the Delta in Fredericton. I could mention a number of things that made it a positive experience but let me spotlight one that really stood out. Fany. She was a server at the Grab-n-Go cafe. I had several interactions with Fany over the 3 days. What a lovely person. Warm, engaging, professional, proactive, knowledgable - just a stellar example of why people are so critical to a business. If I wasn't quite sure about a menu item, she had a recommendation. She answered every question I had. After we introduced, she referred to by name. Seeing me more than once in a day she would ask about how my day went. She offered pleasant conversation - neither banal nor intrusive. Yes, my experience at the Delta overall was very positive. Yet what truly stood out, were my interactions with Fany.
