Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton3.5 out of 5.0

Not much to say except the charging plugs in the room are all obsolete. Delta should remember that technology changes faster than their room renos. If you have to be in Fredericton, this place is fine.
I had a wonderful stay at the Delta Fredericton. The hotel is very modern with clean large rooms, comfortable beds and a friendly staff. The hotel is on the banks of the St John River and offers beautiful views while sitting by the pool, drinking at the bar or eating lunch outside. The Delta is very close to downtown Fredericton but you will need to drive and park downtown.
We traveled down to this hotel from PEI where we had stayed at another Delta Marriott. We found the same quality we had up there and our room was beautiful. Once again, I upgraded to a 'river view' and was thrilled with what we got. Our room faced northeast so we were also treated with a gorgeous sunrise without even getting out of bed. We were also very happy with the eating facility downstairs. All 3 venues surpassed what we saw offered locally outside of the hotel.
My husband and I stayed at this Delta hotel twice last week. Our check-in was quick; staff were friendly and helpful; room was clean; bed was comfortable; and bathroom is spacious with a rain shower and bath robes. The hotel is on riverfront with indoor and outdoor heated pools. The only thing missing was in-room safe/security locker, but my husband explained - this is Canada. For those of us who are used to lock up our valuables in the hotel in-room safe should bring our own lock for our suitcase so that we could lock up our valuables. For travelers who are used to have slippers from hotels, make sure you bring your now slippers - this Delta hotel does not have slippers. During our trip in Canada last week, we stayed at 3 Delta hotels. We also stayed at a Delta hotel in Ottowa last summer. This Delta in Fredericton is one of the best Delta hotels we have stayed. Oh, parking is free and easy - in front of the hotel! I will definitely return to this hotel when I visit Fredericton again.
Very clean spacious quiet room. Bed is very comfortable. Temperature controls easy to use and a quiet air conditioning. Many electrical outlets and charging ports for devices. Lovely relaxing room. Hotel is easy to find and is along the St.John river. Handy to the exhibition grounds.
I stayed for one night during my holiday to New Brunswick. We did not use the pool or most of the restaurants. The Good: First, the lobby is very large, pretty, and well designed. The desk staff were very polite and helpful. They helped me find places to eat downtown and directed us appropriately. The room was a good size and very comfortable. The Room Service was delicious (though it took a long time to prepare). The Bad: We had breakfast in one of the hotel restaurants on the morning we left. We waited a VERY long time to even be seated (apparently the hostess also worked the Starbucks counter, which is ridiculous). Once we were seated, the wait staff left us alone for a long time, and even when we ordered it took a while for our food to come. No one came by to check on us, or to offer our bill. Completely unacceptable. Also, the bowl of little jams contained maybe one honey, one raspberry, and 12 or so orange marmalades (small, I know, but the little things matter). I tried to purchase a soft drink from the convenience store, only to learn that there was a minimum purchase size to use Debit. How is that still a thing? It's the only convenience store for quite a ways; if a customer just wants a drink on a hot day don't say "we don't accept debit on a $2 purchase. The toilet was so loud that it woke my baby. I should never have to ask myself whether I should or should not flush. Conclusion: I would give it 3.5 if I could. Everything looked very nice and clean, but given that this was by far the most expensive hotel I stayed at during my trip, I am annoyed by how many little things added up to making it the least pleasant.
For a hotel that is in a beautiful setting, part of a major hotel chain, with a wonderful staff, I cannot understand why they cannot hire someone who is competent enough to run the food services. We loved the setting. The pool area and outdoor bar/restaurant is spectacular. However, why do people have to wait over an hour to receive overcooked and cold food. I didn't know before we stayed but apparently this has been going on for a long time. The staff just tell you that they can't handle the crowds. Delta/Marriott. Hire a food and beverage manager who has the capability to solve this problem. Then you will have a great hotel. Not just a good hotel. Then your guests will not run the risk of going to bed hungry as we did. Then you won't ruin anyone else's evening.
All the little frills, amazing view of the river, outstanding service. Ordered some late night treats and I accidentally dropped one! Despite my protests, the gentleman who brought us the food hustled back down to the kitchen and procured us a replacement. Great stay, highly recommended.
And barThe room was a good size. Lots of room for our luggage. The room had a well laid out bathroom, lots of counter space, I like that they replaced the tub and shower with a large walk in shower, lots of room to have a good shower. I'm not sure about the clear glass enclosure, some people may not like that you can see the person having a shower if you are using the other facilities. We had a room that overlooked the Saint John River the view was great, the sunsets where spectacular. The rest of the hotel was very well laid out, large bar area, outside patio and bar along with outside and inside pool. No lifeguard. Restaurant on site and one right beside property. It is a short drive or walk to downtown area. 20 min. walk along hiking trail by river, flat paved easily traversed. Overall a great location. Staff where very friendly and helpful. The property looked to have great conference and meeting facilities. Pricing seem a little high. If you are visiting Fredricton this is the place to stay.
From past experiences the Delta has been amazing. Since being bought by Marriot things have changed. Like how now they will no longer have a plate of strawberries covered in chocolate while you enter the room for the first time. I do miss that. But I still love the Delta!
