The best option for businesses. Nice room with enough space, excelent service, everything clean and an excelent bar to spend a couple of hours. Excelent breakfast with lota of diversity and well done food.
Stayed here for one night as my flight was cancelled. The hotel itself is ok but the rooms are a little dated. One issue in the room, at least in mine. The light switch is in the middle of the bed so when you move at night it switches on, quite annoying really. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and professional as well as the reception staff! One good point is the DB station is a two minute walk.
The rooms are OK (except you have to find the well hidden ironing room and they wont let you have an iron) but every single interaction with every staff member is awful. Rude and without any consideration. I have been to the hotel several times as there is little choice but the company I work with have finally had enough and refused to use them ever again for any conference or overnight stay. Genuinely awful.
The Maritim is a rather large hotel and it is located along a busy road near a railroad. Rooms are comfortable, beds are comfortable, the showers are great. The main restaurant offers a good selection of foods. Breakfast buffet offers all you want. Staff is friendly, would return there and then I would want to see more of the downtown areas.
I reserved the hotel for 7 nights a number of months ago and halfway through my stay I tried to reduce to 5 nights and discovered I had to pay 90% of the rate for the last two nights. This is the definition of terrible customer service. In addition the WiFi was terribly slow and the room was hot. When I complained about the temperature they explained the air conditioning for the building was off and would not be turned back on. I tried opening the window, but since it is next to the train station it was too loud to leave open.
I picked this hotel because of the location but wouldn’t stay here again. The lobby is tired and old fashioned in desperate need of modernisation. When I exited the elevator I was surprised to see corridors that had clearly been modernised. This partially continued into the room but other than the bathroom the makeover was largely cosmetic. The room had the usual single beds which were very hard and uncomfortable. There is no iron in the room and you need to trek to a special ironing room on the 3rd floor and then queue to use a dirty ironing board and old iron. The WiFi in the hotel is a complete joke. Easy to connect to but massive latency and no throughput. (See speed test pic). In the end I gave up and used my 4G connection as a hotspot for my PC. It was the only way I could send emails. The food in the bar is ok and the staff friendly. So definitely not the hotel for a business traveller.
I have stayed at the Maratim Konferenze previously and did not particularly enjoy my stay but it has been refurbished and it is now much improved and now is much much better. The main criticism I have is that when busy the breakfast room could not cope.
Stayed here for a long weekend, was one of the best hotels in the city, a bit dated could do with a renovation but could not fault anything much else, hard to get a coffee from the lobby machine not very good Room clean and large nice balcony, large comfortable smoking room inside besides the bar The bar itself was good and reasonable rates
Nice, spacious, quiet and comfortable room and bathroom. The breakfast buffet is really impressive with wide variety of choices (20€ though). Well located, very close to train station. A pity that the wifi is not up to the rest....
Stayed here overnight on route to austria. Fantastic evening meal. Plenty choice for 4 course meal. Breakfast was amazing all you could want plus lots more. Cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, jams, fish, rolls, breads etc. Also juices, tea and coffee. Rooms are roomy and lovely . Fantastic bathrooms too. Staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
