The Shepherds Hut with Farmland Views Fox Glacier

A unique and cozy hideaway to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fox Glacier. Tastefully decorated in a vintage style theme, enjoy a drink in your own private garden and be entertained by our farm animals. An idyllic spot for honeymooners and solo travelers nestled near the base of the Southern Alps as part of Rocky Creek - a 100-acre farm. Continental breakfast is included. The space features a Queen bed, a private ensuite, a kitchenette and a porch. The Shepherd's Hut has a lovely private garden and farmland valley outlook and you can catch an exceptional West Coast sunset from the porch. It is located within walking distance to the Fox Glacier town center, close to bars, cafes and restaurants, guided tours and walks. Access to the entire hut, private bathroom and the grounds of the entire property surrounding The Farmhouse, Pods and Hut. The Hut is independent from The Farmhouse (where we live) and offers self-check-in - I take my guests lead on guest interaction and generally leave you to it but if you need me I am only a message away or you are welcome to enter The Farmhouse and say hello. The Shepherds Hut is located in a very safe neighborhood surrounded by farmland, in nature yet only a stones throw from the town center where there is a great selection of cafes, bars and restaurants as well as guided tours, walks, glacier access and experiences and even a glow worm dell! Just down the road you will find Lake Matheson - a globally famous must-see. We recommend lunch and coffee at the Matheson Cafe after or before a walk around the lake. Lake Gault is a fabulous walk for those looking for a little bit more of a challenge and a visit to our local beach - Gillespies Beach and its walking trails offers a great half to full day out! There are a few different ways to see the glacier, if you want any tips please send me a message. The Hut is walking distance to town but you will need a driver or vehicle to explore the wider area.
