Rainforest Retreat

Comfortable deluxe hotel room with hot tub.

This new space at Treetops Retreat in Franz Joseph is lovely! We had 2 bedrooms, a living room and full kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a hot tub on the deck! A breakfast basket of fruit, cereals, yogurt, milk, juice, bread, butter and jam was provided each evening. What we didn't finish for breakfast we took with us for a picnic lunch. The only difficulty we encountered was sometimes it got crowded with vehicles in front of the main reception/entrance and was hard to navigate with our car.

Sunset Motel

Modest room, but very comfortable

Satisfactory accommodations for the two nights we were here. Room was rather small for three adults, but was okay.

The Westhaven Motel

Very Nice Hotel

I had requested a non-smoking with 2 twin beds and en-suite bath. We were escorted to our room by the reception which I thought was a nice touch. We were offered milk for our tea or coffee. The non-smoking room itself was a very nice size with a nice size bath. In fact it was the largest room on our trip. We had two king size beds with good pillows. Fox Glacier is very small and the motel was in a perfect location. I can highly recommend this motel. We rated all the motels we stayed in during our trip on a scale of 1 to 10. We gave this hotel a 9. And yes we did have some hotels that were a 6.
