I recently have been staying at the super 8 in fort st.john b.c. my only issues with that hotel is the times for breakfast! While.their breakfast for.eggs and bacon are not until 6a.m and we leave for work by 5 a.m. so we do not get to enjoy any bacon or sausage! While the rest of the hotel is perfectly comfortable. The hot breakfast times would my only complaint. Maybe they could figure out the times to accommodate us patch workers a little better because sometimes that's my only meal before noon! Thank you
I have stayed with this Super 8 many times. Every time been happy with my room this time I was given a complimentary upgrade. No idea why but wow was the room beautiful. Thank you very much for the upgrade.
everyone was super friendly, the service was great from start to finish.had our 2 dogs with us, and everyone treated them as well as they treated us ! Super pet friendly place, would highly recommend it.
This is a great hotel with great super friendly staff. Unfortunately breakfast is falling by the wayside lately and is not in line with the high quality this type of hotel offers and should offer for the rates they are charging. Out of yoghurt, limited choice of bread, microwaved eggs. The rest is great: staff, rooms, gym, pool, Internet, tv; all on or above standard.
I always stay at this hotel and other super 8 hotels. I used to work for super 8 as a front desk rep and I know what it takes for a good company to run smoothly. They are great and the rooms are clean!!
We stayed one night in this Super 8 in Fort St. John with our 4 children. The room was ok. Not the cleanest but didn't seem too dirty. The pool area however was not at all cared for. The floor in the women's change room was disgusting. There were NO towels on Friday night and again on Saturday morning NO towels and no change in the cleanliness of the bath/change rooms. Whenever we went to the front desk there was no one around. After standing there for a few minutes someone would eventually come in from outside. The breakfast wasn't amazing and I was especially turned off when I took a bite of a breakfast sausage and their was a hair attached to it that did not belong to anyone in our family! There was no water in the water dispenser and when one of the staff came and pointed that out, the guy in the breakfast area acted like it was too much effort to fix that problem. Over all our stay was just ok and we were glad it was only one night. Also, we have also never stayed in a hotel that was so heavily decorated for Halloween. Maybe that isn't a big deal to most people but we have two sensitive children and some of the decor was just over the top. My 3 year old daughter kept saying "mommy there's a ghost over there", "mommy that ghost is looking at me..." My 7 year old was fully willing to walk into something trying to shield his eyes from the "decor". Just not what I would expect from a professional establishment.
The room was not cleaned during the day. When I called the front desk, they answered that the cleaner reported that someone was sleeping in the room and they could not clean it. I left the room at 6:30 for the day. My garbage was not emptied and the towels were not replaced. For the amount of money that we pay per night, these services are expected. During breakfast, staff that was in the dining room was playing on their phone and talking to someone. Coffee was out and so was bacon and sausages. Person did not seem to be interested to help out until reminded.
Hello to all who need to read before cautiously experiencing for themselves this review is for you. I have stayed at this Super 8 a few years back and was pleasantly encouraged to see a tremendous improvement from that time. All staff were friendly and very helpful, room was clean and the food was good, the staff even found me a quick ride to the hospital after I had a wipe out on my bicycle during my morning ride when I got back to the Hotel. If there is one thing I could suggest needs improving is the coffee, it could be a bit better. Sincerely Big House
Great hotel to stay at in Fort St. John staff has always been very helpful and friendly every time I have stayed there. Walking distance to a number of restaurants and shopping
We have been staying at this Super 8 in Fort St John since they first opened their doors. We have always had a good clean room and service. Not this trip. When we arrived to check in there were people out front of the lobby smoking and drinking beer. We went up to the counter and waited a minute, the clerk then came in from outside reeking if cigarette smoke. We checked in. We got a room with 3 beds and an assigned parking spot for that specific room. When we went to park there was a Pick up in our assigned spot. We went back to the front desk with the license plate number and asked the clerk to notify the owner to please move. You do pay more for this room with parking directly outside the room. The clerk said she would look after this situation. We entered our room and my first thought was is this room clean? The beds were all lumpy. I pulled the sheets back and yes they were clean. Just no care or attention taken in making the room presentable. The toilet bowl was dirty with a black ring and black stuff coming down the inside bowl. There was no hook behind the bathroom door to hang anything on. Some of the towels were stained and some were very worn and thin. I asked the front reception the next day to clean the toilet. It was never cleaned. They informed me that's if was probably glue they used to secure to toilet that had stained it. I don't care. I want a clean bathroom. I was also informed by the front desk they had some new cleaning staff and they were not doing a great job. Not my problem. Parking wasn't resolved for two days. We were told to park in another spot as that room was empty. The family that reserved that room wanted that parking spot also got the run around until they insisted the truck that didn't belong in our parking spot be moved. Finally the front reception listened. The truck moved and we got our parking spot. The breakfast was still pretty decent. The work out room was consistent as always. They need to put disinfectant in there to wipe down equipment after use. They have a water dispenser in there but no glasses. I really doubt we will be back to the Super 8. There are many more options for rooms in Fort St John now. Hopefully cleaner than what we experienced.
