Walking distance to Encana Centre, big breakfast room, helpful front desk staff. Wifi was a little spotty as I kept having to re sign-in. Hot breakfast was tasty with good coffee, though unfortunately everything was served on disposable plates, plastic cutlery and one-use items. Would be easy to use at least cutlery and real coffee mugs!
The hotel is fairly new and very clean. The room was comfortable and the bed was the best we've slept in. The continental breakfast was very good. There is no restaurant here but there is a very good one next door. If you like gambling there is a Chances next door also. Overall not a bad place to stay the night when travelling. The only complaint, and this isn't really the hotels fault, was that there were work crews staying there and the parking lot was full of mud falling of their vehicles.
This is the 2nd time in two years I've stayed here and both times the staff has been exceptionally friendly, and the facility continues to look in great shape. It has a luxurious look with a mahogany stained wood trim through the lobby & breakfast areas. Laundry facilities and a nice exercise room also are handy. This trip they put me in what they call the "Bachelor Suite" and it's amazing! A large living room & kitchenette area with full fridge ( no stove but microwave) and a separate room with the bed - I've never seen that arrangement in any other Holiday Inn Express and it's a treat!
A slight mixup on the first visit. We were compensated with a suite and the manager surprised us with a phone call offering us a free nights stay on our way back. It was a suite as well. Now that is going above and beyond.
The hotel is clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was surprisingly good for a included continental meal.they had fresh baked biscuits, and cinnamon buns as well as option for fresh pancakes, premade omelettes and bacon. It was quiet even though the hotel appeared full. It is located at the entry into Dawson Creek and across from the Encana center. i would recommend booking in advance as it appears to be full most of the time.
I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and new appearing this hotel is. Sure, there are a lot of muddy boots and dirt tracked into the lobby, but they do their best to keep it out of the upper floors and rooms. The room was well maintained and very large. The facilities in the room (fridge, coffee-making, etc) were a nice addition, Wireless worked well, however right after using it my account was hacked, so I can't comment on the security...... The hotel is located a short drive from the downtown area and restaurants, but too far to walk. No views to speak of from the room (unless you like watching the highway or fuel stations). Staff were friendly and efficient. This is a very busy place and seems to be almost always fully booked. Free breakfast is served in the lobby and the selection of items is impressive! You can even get it to go for those who have to be on site early. Definitely the place to stay in Dawson Creek!
Stayed here for two nights. Check in was fast and staff were great. Breakfast was fantastic. Beds were comfy, slept very well. Rooms were clean, and big. We were stuck here because of another snow storm but it was nice to be here. I have to say again, staff were fantastic.
I have stayed here for work many many times and every time the rooms are always clean and nice. the staff has always been nice and accommodating the only draw back to Holiday Inn is the breakfast, it is a decent breakfast especially when it is free but after you have eaten it for a month straight it starts to got old pretty quick.
Hotel is fine, room was clean and well appointed but I'm not going to stay here again. Wifi wouldn't connect to any devices and then when it did connect there was no Internet. I had to use a mobile hot spot on my phone to get my work done. I'm well aware of how hotel wifi works and that you have you go online and accept the terms but this wifi couldn't even get me there trying with two different computers, three browsers and my phone. When it finally started working later on I was watching Netflix and had to disconnect and reconnect 3 times to continue watching.
