While my previous stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port was pleasant, this visit was disappointing.
I checked in early and added my name to the wait list. After seeing guests who arrived after us receive rooms, I assumed we were next. When I approached the desk, Kim rudely informed me that I needed to be added to the “two-page wait list” instead of simply verifying how many were ahead of me. Her tone was unnecessary. She then engaged in conversation with a guest behind me who commented on my frustration rather than professionally redirecting and continuing service.
The manager apologized and issued 5,000 points, though I was under the impression it would be 10,000, which added to the confusion.
This morning we came down 15 minutes early for the 3:00 AM airport shuttle, which runs hourly. By 3:25 AM it still had not arrived. An Uber was ordered, which I appreciate, but it was too small for our party and six pieces of luggage. Fortunately, the driver accommodated us.
Small details and professionalism matter. This stay lacked both.
