Tru by Hilton Fayetteville I-95, NC
4/5 Good
"Clean Hotel, but Disappointing Customer Service at Check-In My family and I arrived at Tru by Hilton in Fayetteville, NC, around 11:30 PM, expecting a smooth check-in after a long day of traveling. Unfortunately, our experience at the front desk was extremely disappointing. There was an issue processing the virtual credit card provided by Hotels.com, which is the third-party website I used to book our reservation. Despite the front desk employee being able to see my confirmed reservation and booking number, she informed me that "this isn't her problem, it's a third-party problem"and insisted that I contact Hotels.com customer service myself. What bothered me most was the complete lack of compassion or willingness to accommodate my family. We were traveling with children, and it was already late at night. I would have gladly stayed in the lobby to resolve the payment issue while my husband and children settled into the room. Instead, the employee refused to allow anyone to check in, leaving my entire family sitting in the lobby for over an hour and 20 minutes! I have a serious issue with hotels treating guests who book through third-party websites as though their reservations are somehow less important. Hotels choose to partner with these booking platforms, and guests should not be made to feel like an inconvenience when technical or payment issues arise between the hotel and the booking company. A little empathy and problem-solving would havea tremendous difference."
