Our first trip to Key West and the Pier House offered us the location, water access, restaurants, great staff and excellent dining.
Excellent location! No need for a car. Hotel offers free tram rides up/ down Duval Street.
We were there to celebrate a family wedding. Everything went perfectly - including the weather! We even had a rainbow right before the start of the ceremony. The organizers were attentive and everything ran smoothly. The steel drum player was lovely and really added to the ambiance. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience for everyone! We couldn't have asked for a better location for the reception party afterwards. Close and amazing sunset and view.
Located right at the top of Duval Street, this hotel's location is close to everything but is still quiet enough to feel peaceful even in Key West. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The grounds are beautiful as well. Very small beach area and the pool area fills up fast and we were there on a slow week. Room was just ok. Not enough electrical outlets and the bathroom is small and poorly laid out. The shower was below average. Like the free shuttle service up and down Duval Street.
Loved this hotel! Location location location....very clean, friendly staff but most of all your own beach! Pool was awesome the bars and restaurants as well. Beds were so amazing and comfy king size!
Very good location Room location was a problem ice machine next to entry door very loud. A/c very loud
Close to everything, clean hotel. Even drinks and food were reasonable
This was our first trip to Key West and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Duval Street is where the majority of the action takes place. And right next door (within a block or so) is Mallory Square. The Pier House is a fabulous location to go and see just about everything and then go back to your room at the Pier House for a nap or to refresh in the pool before taking off for more activities! Breakfast every morning overlooked the water. The beach was small but very nice and right next to the pool area. The staff could NOT have been more welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We got restaurant suggestions from them that were exactly what we were looking for. They even have a couple of 5-passenger carts with drivers that will deliver you anywhere up and down Duval Street. We absolutely loved this trip and look forward to visiting again!
all staff very pleasant and accommodating. this has been my 3rd stay at the Pier House.. will be back for a 4th stay
Went for Fantasy Fest and selected 2 queen beds, Traditional Room as that is all that was available in August when I booked. Fine. I can always upgrade. Paid for a party of 3 to 4 with a rollaway request. Called the day before to let them know I didn't need the rollaway as we had a cancellation. They had me booked with a King and a pullout. Huh? Arrived late (7-ish) and asked to be upgraded (I said I would pay for it) as I have read reviews to get a room with a water view. Generic, robotic response We have no rooms available during the length of your stay. Fine. Got 2 queen beds - thanks. Garden view room, 2nd floor. No elevator. Cripes. Lugged luggage and beer cooler (it's Fantasy Fest, folks!) up the stairs. Enter the Hot Box (the room) with A/C struggling and a humidifier cranking next to it. Huh? All tiled room (remember this) was clean except nighstand had crud on it. No biggie. Bathroom clean. Beds made fine, mattress comfortable. Nice flatscreen TV. Mini fridge. Wi-fi a joke - slowwwwwww. Use the coconut telegraph instead. Hoped A/C would get cold but just barely got to a decent comfort level. This would continue throughout stay. I've lived in South Florida 40+ years and I would rather sleep on glass with A/C than have a nice bed and be hot. Balcony has 2 chairs but A/C was blowing hot exhaust and leaking water making it useless. View outside balcony was, well, a garden. Actually, the trunk of a palm tree and lots of leaves. It looked like an episode of Naked and Afraid. Speaking of which, Fantasy Fest! The Hot Box was located close to Duval and was in perfect spot for Mallory Square, Sunset Pier, Sloppy Joe's, etc. Location can't be beat. Ate across street at Rum Barrel with tall sexy blonde server - email me honey. Pool was okay. The beach was akin to a sandbox park but would suit anyone who wanted to sun themselves. No one was swimming as multi-million dollar yachts had churned up seaweed that was rolling in with tides and littering the sandbox. Not their fault. what was their fault was the lack of towels provided. Ronnie and Bonzo should have said Tear down these walls....and how about towels for room 4--. People who stayed there will get that quip. No bath mat, tile floors, 50 lb swinging glass shower door that wouldn't stay closed makes for lawsuit waiting to happen. Begging for towels helped. Did I mention A/C still wasn't working? Okay. Amenities were supposed to have a shuttle, (saw empty golf carts in parking lot and not mentioned on check in), spa (mentioned at check in but I can't review) blah, blah, blah. Grounds of the Naked and Afraid garden were immaculate. Probably because of the maintenance workers using their leaf blowers outside our door at an un-Fantasy Fest hour of 8am. Turtle and koi pond was nice. Hey little turtle...hey little fishies... Ummm....ummm....did I mention location was great! Homeless people on Front Street and Duval also had a great location. I might stay there again if room had a better view, A/C had functioned, towels had been serviced better, had an elevator....whatever, Fantasy Fest! Dasvidaniya! Towels, please.
We own a time share in the Keys, and wanted to add a few extra days. I looked at every higher end hotel, and decided on the Pier House. Great decision. First, all properties in the keys are on the high end, but we wanted to stay at the Mallory Square end of Duval Street, as our timeshare is at the southernmost end. Perfect location. If it's crazy and party that you want, that end of Duval is where you'll find it! Sloppy Joes, Hogs Breath, Irish Kevin's....all popular hang outs, and walking distance. So you can crawl down Duval and stagger back to your hotel, and feel fairly certain you'll make it back to your room! Our check-in was not initially ideal. We were not given the level of room we booked online. Yes, I booked through a travel site and not them directly, and I think they just stuck us in the least ideal room they had and hoped we'd live with it. Well, we travel a lot, and that's not how I role. So I immediately called the front desk, and explained the situation. I won't name names, but HE very rudely told me he was busy with other guests and he'd call me back. He didn't. So I went back up to the front desk. Same guy was obviously annoyed that I was back, let me stand in front of him without looking up, acknowledging me, growling that he'd be with me in a few minutes...nothing. For 10 minutes. Finally a sweet and very helpful young girl (Eva) DID come over and give me our options. To make a long story short, she went above and beyond to get us into two beautiful rooms.....and upgrades to boot. Thank you SO MUCH Eva!!!!!! Great job at keeping your cool, going above and beyond, and putting a huge smile on your guests face. I will return because of you. So after a rocky start, our stay was fabulous! There are only a few hotels in Key West that have private beaches, Pier House is one. It's small, but easily holds the people that want to lounge on the beach. The pool guys were great also. Bar drinks are pricey, but you don't come to Key West to save money. Go for the piña colada with a rum floater. Starts your morning off (or day!) right. They had a great live singer from noon to 3. My suggestion: go to the onsite Chart Room bar instead. Great ole town feel with Emily, who bartends with skill and personality. We had a great time knocking a few back with her and met new friends. And comp popcorn and peanuts!!!!!!!! Can't ask for better. The whole property is beautiful, not crazy huge, surrounded by a lot of Palm trees and garden views. Has a real Key West feel, as opposed to a larger resort with no personality. And girls, the bathrooms are large and beautifully done with granite and H2O shampoo etc...... If you want to be in the middle of the craziness that is Key West, yet amazingly quiet at night, the Pier House is absolutely perfect. We will definitely return to kick off our yearly trip to the Keys.
Great hotel, nice location. Will go down again without any doubts. Stayed in a two level suite, only con the bathroom upstairs (master bedroom) lacks a shower. Other than that staff very friendly, very clean. One Duval, excellent restaurant.
The place is beautiful and in an awesome location. The offer free shuttle on the island. The pool and beach are great and the staff was super. All very friendly
Hotel was just ok. Great location - view from room was hotel parking lot. Smaller room and pool. Beach location was good for area.
Hotel in a great location with a great view. Gardens outside of our room were beautiful and near the hot tub.
Pier house was the perfect Key West location for us. Everything was at our doorstep. Mallory square for the sunset celebrations and all of Duvall street for the restaurants and bars were literally just steps away. The hotel was great including their private beach and nice pool with music and food and drink service. We were able to check in 3 hours early when we arrived and the concierge arranged our water activities. We will stay here next time we visit.
Awesome hotel in perfect location!! Right on Duvall in heart of action. Right around corner from Mallory Square & right on water for easy access to water activities. Private beach area w/ nice bar. Gorgeous plants, gardens & vegetation. Stayed in Lani room overlooking gardens & pool. Wonderful room & setting. Ate b'fast in restaurant. Very good but service a little slow. Definitely would stay there again! Staff very attentive. Beautiful facility.
This resort is in the middle of everything but offers a secluded deal. We went during off season and rooms seemed a bit over prices for what you get but overall it was a great place to escape the cold and sip on tropical drinks while watching sailboats float past.
Everything in this hotel is brandnew and well provided. I love their bathroom. Closed to the famous place such as Little White House, USCGC Ingram etc.. They also have a private beach.
