So happy we booked here, it's locally owned by a brother sister duo who were the nicest people ever! We requested for the river view room & the balcony was cute & lovely. The room had a cool old interior touch to it. It was clean & the staff were prompt. The location to the main sights is perfect walking distance, loads of cafes and shopping around the hotel. Close to train station. Would definitely recommend to any of my friends for a perfect stay in Florence ♥️
This hotel has character, its in a great location and the room with the balcony overlooking the Arno river was fantastic. The hotel is minutes walking distance from everything and the host Francesco was brilliant. I would certainly stay in this hotel again if I was to visit Florence and highly recommend this place. I have nothing but good to say about the hotel. Thank you Francesco for the lovely stay and your assistance,.
Loved the location of this once family residence. It's a block or so from the US Consulate along the Arnos River. Views of the Pointe Vecchio from the window! The owners are incredibly helpful and generous. Complimentary wine and free water. An incredible espresso machine in the room, too. But what made this room the most favorite of our trip, was the bathroom! The most exquisite claw foot tub, and lots of hot water. Worth a look if your looking for a reasonably, well located, room in Florence.
Good location to see Florence. We were a bit disappointed to be moved from one room to another due to some mixup with their booking. The first room was superior to the one we were put in for the last night, so it coloured our stay. Not as good mattress or pillows etc . However it is clean and the staff pleasant enough.
Location by the river Arno, balcony facing to the river, friendly hostess and housemaster. We enjoyed our 4-night stay. Room was spacious and clean, clean towells were waiting every day. Short distance to railwaystation, Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.
We loved the Vespucci. The location is terrific -- on the river (our room with balcony fronting it) yet only a stroll from the main shopping streets and most of the historical sites you are likely to visit. Another advantage is that if you walk anywhere west of here you are out of the main tourist areas and can find much more local-style restaurants and bars to unwind in. The owner and his main factotum are delightful and very helpful, and the suite we had on the riverfront was spacious enough and comfortable (two bathrooms came in handy, too). The parking arrangement was good -- staff from the garage come and pick up your car upon arrival and drop it off again at the Vespucci when you are ready to leave. I would strongly consider staying here again on a return visit to Florence
Our family of five decided to go to Florence on short notice and stayed in this beautiful and welcoming place. The owner and his staff are personable and professional; the facilities are spotless with ample space in the rooms and bathrooms. Highly recommend.
Beautiful room! Balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Arno, walking distance to everything and the staff helpful above and beyond! Comp wine upon arrival, comp liquor, clean and elegantly Italian! Would absolutely stay again!
This hotel is a lovely little Italian get-away. I see that some people (in the reviews) were not satisfied with their stay. In response to that, I think it is important to remember that this is not America. Expectations about customer service and luxury must be adjusted. But I have been traveling Italy for the past two weeks and this was the best place we stayed. It was very clean, the bathroom was beautiful, and it was right on the river. We were in walking distance of nearly everything, which is important because it is impossible to drive into the city. Additionally, they provide free drinks and there was a coffee maker and a refrigerator in our room. We were very comfortable and the staff was incredibly friendly. We especially loved Edwin, who was very accommodating and constantly checked up on our needs. We definitely recommend staying here :)
Our stay at Residenza Vespucci was, unfortunately challenging. I had booked 3 of the same room and paid in full at time of booking in January. We were booked for 2 nights in May. On arrival we were informed that the hotel had oversubscribed and didn’t have one of my 3 rooms available. The hotel owner/manager Francesco tried to be helpful by arranging for one of the couples in my party to be moved for one night to an alternative hotel. Suffice it to say this hotel was below the standard we expected from our booking and the Staff were quite rude to us. I appreciate that they tried to correct their mistake by organising an alternate hotel and on the second night they offered to move them into the superior suite which was a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river, however due to our full day excursion (we returned at 9pm) and need to check out early to get to the train station we didn’t really get chance to appreciate the room and the stress of having to move and the previous nights stay overshadowed the “compensation” offered. In addition to this we experienced issues in the Residenza Vespucci also. One of our rooms had a broken shower. The staff tried to help but was unable to fix it and they could not offer to move us into another room. On our second/last night when we returned from a full day excursion I explained the issues again that we had experienced to the woman who was on duty but unfortunately she wasn’t able to help. I asked if I could speak to Francesco the following morning at checkout which she confirmed - but he didn’t bother to show up and so we were told to email our concerns. I sent a polite email in both English and Italian (I asked a friend to do the translation for me) addressing my concerns and requesting their feedback as we did not feel compensated for our poor experience I am still waiting for a reply almost a month later…. I’m fair and honest in my reviews and must add that the 3rd room we had was exactly as expected/hoped with a balcony overlooking the river and was comfortable. Sadly our short experience was tainted through lack of communication and poor management on the hotels part. We feel that had the situation been handled better we might not feel like we needed to leave a low scoring review.
