Immediately upon arrival and sitting on the edge of the bed, the bed collapsed. While the staff were able to send over a handyman later in the day to repair it, it was not a great start, and there was no compensation around this. Pricing for the crib was hidden until we arrived, so we were forced to pay whatever they asked so our child had a place to sleep. Finally, the kitchen was missing amenities including paper towels and sponges, and when we asked for some to be sent over, they simply told us they did not supply those things. Overall this was an example of how the commodification of rental apartments has greatly degraded the quality and value of these stays, and why so many people are saying "I just book hotels now".

The property was close to the main station in Florence, surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops, and at a good distance to walk to the main plaza. When you walk into the building looks old and the apartment is not as lit as the pictures. The shower is very small, we are small and still felt the space tight.

If nobody speak up about this unit, I will

Horrible experience; The shower was extremely small, a 5'4" person can barely get in and turn around while taking a shower; hot water can turn into cold water very quickly; you cannot use the sink or flush a toilet when the second person was taking a shower because the water pressure will drop; road/people noise from outside will last until 2 am and restart again at 5 am. You can barely get a good night sleep; the AC unit did not set up correctly so it is basically useless; taking the stairs to the unit was not safe as no light was available; the host won't do your towel replenishment unless you pay, they also don't refill your toilet paper.

This is a small flat within walking distance of historic sites of Florence. There is no check-in on site, but an agent from the rental office met me after arriving and showed me around the flat. Although the flat description says that it sleeps 4, it is better suited for 2. I had trouble turning on the induction cooktop, but when I found the manual online, I discovered that the child safety lock was on, and found how to unlock it.

Hotel was half a floor- common in Rome, but not the USA- but it was a 10 minute walk from the main Rome train station, one block from a supermarket and taxi station. It felt spacious and clean; firm beds but not cotton sheets. The host was fluent in English and eager to help. We would stay there again. I don’t know about the summer as we were there end of April.
