Stayed here October 2017 as part of a tour group. Staff treated our tour group as if we were not paying customers due to the fact we were on a tour. Rooms are small and cramped and don't look anything like the advertised pictures! Hotel staff are extremely rude and unpleasant to deal with. Hotel rooms and halls smell like feet. I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone.
This hotel is located in the western part of Florence and is a great location if you want to get out of town quickly in the morning to travel to your next destination. It was a quite location and the hotel had gates that were closed at a certain time so made you feel secure. Rooms were clean and modern and we were lucky to be on the first floor so we enjoyed a Balcony. The meal we had at the hotel was part of a tour we were on and was one of the better meals on our trip that was supplied. I cannot say the same about the breakfast the next day as there was limited choice and the eggs looked powdered.
Nice hotel with friendly staff and great rooms. But breakfast was a big disappointment in that the eggs were cold , the coffee out of the machine was cold. The selection of food was very limited. Plus it is a long way out of the city centre.
A very lovely hotel. Stayed one night only, while on tour. Supermarket and laundry in close vicinity and local eateries handy. 2k from the airport. Its 20 minutes by bus to the city centre. Enjoyed my stay here.
Nilhotel is a fair hotel for working stays. I spend around two months in the Florence at Nil and the overal experience has been positive. Rooms: clean and reasonably modern rooms. the only donwside is the shortage of electric sockets (2 per room, distant both from the bed). Facilities: the hotel has a small gym containing a fair choice of gym equipment. Restaurant: the restaurant quality is a bit below the hotel standard and most of the food is acceptable but almost each "pizzeria" can offer equal if not better meals. To be used only if strictly necessary. All other choices are to be preferred. Breakfast: medium rage of choice and quality. Some rotation among days and weeks would strongly be appreciated by client. Tip: water pressur on the last two floors (6° and 7°) is a bit lacking: ask for a room in one of the first floors.
The hotel is nice, clean and spacious rooms. Service is fine. But here is the bad thing, we visit the bar of the hotel for a light meal, I ask for the salmon sandwich, they run out of salmon, so we order 2 pizzas and 2 burgers. The pizzas were really bad, can tomato sauce and barley cheese on each, but the burgers were disgusting, I can't believe any respectable restaurant will serve this, the meat patty was the frozen type, ugly and without flavor, instead of chips or fries they gave us pop corn. And it was pricy for such a bad meal €54. It's unbelievable that you can't eat such bad things in Italy! The worst burger I have ever ate! I hope tomorrows breakfast improve, or I'll change my 3 points review for a 1 point review
The hotel staff must have trained in a concentration camp or something. During breakfast, our family of 20 pax was told by the waiter in a stern tone: "Your group must come down at the same time at 7:30 am and leave by 8." And the waiter had the nerve to tell us several times! Last time, I checked, we were supposed to be customers, not prisoners. The attitude of the waiters must have been influenced by the iron fence surrounding the hotel and the steel shutters on every window. Makes you wonder if these were to keep people from trespassing or for keeping people from leaving. Must have listened to my gut-feel that there was definitely something off with this hotel. C'mon Nil Hotel! You guys should leave the medieval ages and join us in the present times! There were some positive notes but not enough for the hotel's salvation: 1. Loved the coffee at the vendo machine 2. Your bartender was quite accommodating/entertaining-- learn from this guy!
As a hotelier from a 5-star hotel, staying in this hotel was a big disappointment- and this is coming from realistic expectations from knowing how a hotel operates. The facilities were good enough and the hotel itself had potential but the service was beyond horrible. We are a well travelled group and it was only this time that we have experienced such racist attitudes towards Asians. The 3 star hotel in Rome that we have stayed in prior to this leg of the trip was miles ahead in hospitality, warmth and anticipation. That says a lot about the 4 star rating of this property. My grandfather was shooed away from the breakfast venue; other Asians who were from another group were showed to our dining area by the staff who did not even have the courtesy to ask if he was part of our group and assumed that since we all looked the same- we were all together; An aunt who was feeling sick ordered from the restaurant and the food took more than 30 minutes to arrive (this was just soup) and when she asked the reception where the only staff of that restaurant went, he had the audacity to tell her that he did not know with a tone that he couldnt be bothered at that time in an empty lobby; My brother who was eating breakfast had his dishes removed mid meal because we were apparently only allowed to stay 30 minutes because it was the "rules"- something that was not apparently pressed to the other group (a group of europeans) in the same dining hall; My roomate had her makeup stolen in the room by housekeeping. Florence is a beautiful place but don't come to this property if your are looking for a retreat after you explore.
Staff treated us differently because we were a large group. Despite the fact that we paid exactly the same as everyone else in this hotel we were only allowed to have our breakfast until 8am while everyone else could have breakfast until 10am.
The rooms are clean and new, big with a veranda. I hope though, that the people they get for the reception will have a better attitude, more approachable and pleasant disposition. They don't serve lunch, and the cafeteria that is supposed to serve snacks was not manned. We waited for 30 minutes, and all that the reception can say is: "I don't know where he went!" No apologies whatsoever. No intention to offer us anything more. It was 2:30 and we haven't eaten lunch yet. Another lady from the reception kept on repeating that our group only has 30 minutes to eat breakfast! We are a big group of 20, and we got stressed calling everybody for the 30-minute time slot! I do not recommend this hotel. They do not make you feel welcome at all. Only the cleaners are easy to talk to.
