We enjoyed our one-night stay at Hotel Beatrice thanks in large part to the wonderful proprietor Constantino, who was kind and warm and gave us many great and useful recommendations in Firenze, and thanks to the ideal location -- literally one block walk from the station, but no train noise and totally quiet. From the hotel, it's a brief walk to all of the sights. The hotel is old-fashioned and somewhat unique to my experience (though evidently this is not uncommon in Florence), in that it took up only one floor of a large palazzo-style building (with other 'hotels' taking up other floors). This obviously didn't matter, it was just funny. Wifi worked fine, as did the A/C. As others have described, the feel and decor is distinctly not modern, but it has considerable charm and everything was clean and modern enough to be entirely comfortable. I was very grateful for Constantino's help in recommending food and shopping options, since Florence can feel like one giant tourist trap. Without his help, I would have either gotten ripped off or just not bought or done anything useful. I would certainly stay here again.
This is a small quiet hotel very close to the train station. It is an easy walk to the station, shopping at the street market, and very close to all of the tourist areas. Rooms are small, but the very clean. Owner is very helpful.
We spent 3 nights here in this budget, family owned hotel. When we checked in, the son was nice and helped us for the luggages. The room was surprisingly large and very clean. Next morning, we met the owner Constantino in the breakfast room. He was very friendly, and we had a very good conversation and he also provided a lot of useful information. He helped us call and make the reservation so we didn't have to stay in a long line. Everyone we met there was so nice. I will definitely stay here again.
Great location by the train station 4.50 Euro Taxi Ride Everything about the hotel exceeded expectations Constantino is the consummate host I recommend the Firenze Pass not waiting line is worth the money Safety was not a problem The Italian Army is on patrol
I decided to go budget friendly on my 4 night stay with my dad. I was so pleasantly surprised to met by Constantino: The owner and personal concierge! He recommended off the path restaurants and set us up with a great tour. The room is HUGE! 20 ft ceilings with furniture dating from the early 1900s. Worth every penny. :)
My wife and I spent a few nights at the Beatrice last week during a vacation in Florence. The owner and family were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is not modern, but then neither is Florence! We had a nice, very clean, room, with a lot of space and a large bathroom. It was warm despite the cold weather, and also very quiet. The location is excellent - one street over from the main train station (Santa Maria Novella), but there was no noise from the station. It is literally about a five minute walk from the station. We hope to go back and stay there again some time.
This hotel was a lifesaver for us, great value, excellent location and the management made my stay like a 5 star resort, always taking care of us. The stay includes traditional Italian breakfast, the bed is comfy and the room free of noises; if you are a traveler like me, this Hotel is the way to go.
The manager was exceptionally helpful and friendly making our stay most enjoyable. The room was exceptionally clean and the location great as it was very close to the train station, as well as the main city area. Will stay here again if we visit Florence for a second time.
The "Hotel" is at most a half or one star at the most. Dodgy , scruffy and stale smelling rooms with staff / owners son being highly rude and disrespectful. We initially booked for 4 nights but immediately decided to go elsewhere....We politely paid for a night and checked out after staying in the room for 20mins trying to book a different hotel..staff/owners son shouted and cursed us to shut the door behind us as we were leaving. Will never be there again even if I am paid 100,000 euros to sleep in the room for an hour.
My wife stayed here at the beginning of August, we were originally booked into the neighbouring hotel angelica however it seemed they had overbooked so we ended up in the hotel Beatrice. This hotel is a great location for Florence, two minute walk from the main Florence train station and a ten minute walk from Florence centre. The rooms are clean and quite spacious , breakfast is a typical continental breakfast that you would expect. The lift to the hotel is an old style cage lift the like that you see in old American films which kind of adds to the charm. The owner is most helpful and quite happy to talk about football so much so that I think Fiorentina are now my Italian team. Would happily stay here a few again.
