I have been here before but it has been a couple of years. The staff is great and it's close to everything. The lobby was in the middle of being remodeled but everything was still nice and clean and the breakfast was perfect.
Stayed for one night on October15-16 of 2017. Room was just fine. Plenty of hot water, just don't let the kids adjust it alone as the shower will scald you. Remodeling in the breakfast area but the food selection was good. We used the pool and the water temp was nice. Paid $139 for the night.
This was our second stay at this property. Our first experience wasn’t great but we thought we’d give it another try and were glad we did. We had a very nice spacious suite that was quite comfortable. It had a vague smell of stale smoke but not as bad as when we visited last. They offer quite a nice selection for breakfast and we got a great discount from mentioning that my daughter attended Tiffin University which saved us about $40! I’m still very disappointed in the fitness room however- if that’s what you’d call it. It only had a stationary bike and some weights. I’ve been to smaller hotels with better fitness centers! Overall it was a comfortable stay. I prefer Hampton Inns but I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with a stay at this property.
Although this hotel was undergoing a complete remodel, it still was a favorable experience. We paid $129.11 (including all taxes) for a room with a king bed. I want to praise the woman in charge of the breakfast bar. She worked quite hard to keep everything stocked, in the midst of a chaotic situation.
King bed is so so comfortable with the king size pillows. Water pressure is awesome. Helen at the front desk is fabulous. WiFi eh? Depends on where you are in hotel. I'm told they are working to improve this. Jon, Lori, Wendy and Taylor always take care of you as best they can!
It was a great stay at the hotel. The people were very friendly at check in and the rooms were very clean. The pool was nice. Since it was valentines weekend never made it to breakfast but it smelled good each morning. The king jacuzzi sweet was well worth the 10 extra dollars a night. You didn't hear much from the other rooms besides the doors slam from other rooms but what hotel can't you hear that in.
I came to the Holiday Inn Express for my son's first ever College Track Meet at Tiffin University. This is my 5th trip to this hotel and it never fails to impress. This trip, I came with a terrible cold. I was in the lobby after going to the local drug store to get meds for my cold and Brenda approached me asking if I was in a hurry....? She continued to suggest a bag with handles so I could take stuff up to my room, or a service tray to help me out. I told her I wasn't in a hurry, but I needed to get back to my room to take these cold meds I just bought. She then asked if I was an IHG member. I told her i was. Then she asked if I'd tried tea with lemon yet. I hadn't, so she gave me a few packets of Earl Grey Tea and a few lemon packets to take to my room. I was there for 2 nights, and by the 2nd night, I was feeling better. Thank you Brenda for the kind, personal and caring service!!
Comfortable room with good selection of pillows. Bathroom size isn't usually a high priority for me, but It was nice to have a large, spacious bathroom, . The location is convenient to shopping and other dining options for supper, such as Bob Evans. Nice breakfast area with a friendly attendant and variety of options.
We stayed for a wedding. The Tiffin Carnival cross country race was the same weekend so the hotel prices were high. Accommodations were average. The breakfast was extraordinary. As someone who has a challenging diet, there were lots of options for breakfast. Won me over! The pool was kind of cold and looked like it needed some minor repair. They had a pool but no hot tub. Overall, a good experience.
At the time of our visit, the hotel was being re-roofed. Not a problem, as we were only spending the night. From the moment we walked into the lobby, there was an unpleasant odor. We checked in and went to inspect the room. The hall floors were covered with dog hair, and the room had been smoked in, we had requested a non-smoking room. We decided not to stay there, as the odor and dog hair was unacceptable. The receptionist refused to cancel our room and refund our money, as it was five minutes after six pm. (company policy). We left and drove to Columbus to a very nice Holiday Inn Express near Easton shopping center. As with many small town hotels and motels, I think we wandered into one of those that have escaped the corporate monitoring that helps maintain the standards that we have come to expect. I would not recommend the Tiffin Holiday Inn Express to anyone, except those pet owners that like to sleep with their pets.
