A group of us stayed at the Novotel for a couple nights before boarding a boat to spend a week scuba diving. Check-in time on our vouchers was 6am; we arrived around 7:30am and finally got rooms around 9am, after gently prodding the desk staff. Our room had a queen bed plus two bunk beds, 2 night stands, a luggage table, desk and chair, AC, and a small flat screen TV with a few channels. The bathroom had a separate shower/commode room and there was plenty of hot water along with a large sink and counter area. Town was a short bus ride away, which most people went to, but my husband and I did not leave the hotel. The breakfast buffet was good at around $16 US and we hung around there for an hour or more. We ate lunch and dinner there also, and the food was decent. A small grocery store was a short walk away. There was a nice pool area, and I spent quality time in the gym, which had an elliptical machine and treadmill, some weight machines, yoga mats, and free weights. We were very satisfied with the Novotel, and would stay there again.
The hotel and staff are consistent when it comes to being well taken care of. The friendliness and service is great, whether you are dealing with Reservations or front line staff. We also had dinner and the quality of food is really good, albeit breakfast still leaves a lot to be desired, a view I have always maintained. The hotel is conveniently located and 5-minutes from the airport with a courtesy shuttle available. A large supermarket is just down the road the restaurants are within a 5 to 10 minute drive.
We booked into Novotel, Nadi (close to Nadi airport) during a recent overnight stopover, and must admit we were extremely disappointed with the hotel, which is in dire need of a major refurbishment. I am an Accor loyalty member (Silver), and believe I am qualified to assess the standard of Accor hotels. This assessment does not, in any way, reflect the good staff that work there, but there were a number of issues with this hotel. Initially, we were allocated room 721, and when we entered, we found:- (a) the room had a very bad dank/musty smell to it, which was very uncomfortable, and would have been difficult to sleep in (I was worried about legionnaires disease); (b) the bed had a broken leg on one corner, which we reported to reception (the bed tipped if you sat on one corner); and (c) after returning from the gym, we found fresh animal excreta (poo) on the bedspread/bedsheets (I took & have retained photos). I reported this to reception, and they advised it was lizard poo (just as well it was on the bedspread/sheet, and not on the floor, because otherwise we may not have noticed it), At this point, we decided we couldn't stay there, so reception moved us to another room (#710), which didn't smell quite as dank/musty, but still not up to Novotel/Accor standard. After checking the room, we observed that the couch framework appeared to be broken (one sided sank right down, while the other side was reasonably firm), which made it uncomfortable. We dined in the main dining room, and while the staff were friendly, the meal was ordinary (my wife ordered mahi mahi fish of the day, and couldn't eat it (we appreciate reception provided a discount for this 1 meal). I observed that there was only 2 other people dining in the restaurant. In summary, this hotel is definitely not up to Novotel/Accor standard, and we wouldn't stay here again.
We planned our trip to Fiji 9 months in advance. Our past experience with Novotel Hotels had been excellent. If something was not right it was taken care of immediately. This Novotel Nadi did not have our 7 rooms ready at 4:00pm leaving us to wait in the lobby for over an hour. Finally getting our rooms we found our group was scattered through out the hotel complex. Because of our long travel getting to Fiji we were all looking for a nice hot shower and to relax only to find the water was not working in all the rooms. Some of our traveling companions wanted to wash clothes, loaded the on site washer only to have the washer half fill with water and stop. Front desk and on site personnel offered NO HELP or other accommodations that had running water and were available. We did not get water till later in the evening and then it was but a trickle. We travel a lot and understand that things can go wrong but water and basic necessities are reasonable expectations. When the hotel personnel can offer no resolution or help we should have been compensated something. At the very least rooms with the running water should have been provided once the problem was discovered. We will reconsider Novotel accommodations in the future. Ted & Debbie Cobb
I had to come back to the mainland due to some health issues. Everyone at Novotel was so kind and generous. I felt very taken care of, as I stayed in my room for most of my visit except to go to and from urgent care for 5 days. They checked in on me, accommodated for my special requests, were so compassionate and empathetic. Their food was delicious and they even did my laundry for me! The property is really nice and it felt like home away from home!
This hotel is ok for short stay, and located close to airport. It's far enough from airport and city, so it's quiet and easy to sleep there. There's a mall in walking distance though. My room had plenty of space, and view to golf course.
The Novotel Nadi is close to the airport and about a FJD10 cab fare to the shopping area. It is not close to Nadi town shops and I would not suggest walking. There are no shuttle services into town offered by the Novotel. However there is a grocery store a short walk away, approximately 500 metres. The actual room size is good but in need of maintenance. Most items are worn and tired and have been 'revived' or repaired with what appears to be unskilled labour. The rooms also severely lack room lighting. The restaurant food servings are adequate but not of the tastiest quality. The chicken pasta with white sauce though is very good and an enormous serving .The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again if it was to transfer to the airport only.
Amazing staff!!! I like the fact that everyone is so helpful, I can’t remember all the names but Suresh at the airport was very very helpful, front desk team is great as well loata, talatoka, Komal, navin, John and at the restaurant Tatiana, runa, amrita lslimeli and how can I forget the Housekeeping team who made my stay very comfortable and lusiana who made perfect omelette!! I would only suggest for few more restaurants and room renovation but Vinaka everyone 😊😊
Rooms need major improvement and upgrade. I stayed here for the second time on my trip to Fiji and nothing seems to be improved. The rooms need pest control and total make over the air conditioning needs repairs gives off hot air not cool air. We where placed near the renovations rooms and had the worst sleep, we got woken up at 5am every morning with construction work in progress. When we requested a room change the staff where happy to help but the next room was no improvement. Food still needs alto of work, nothing to rave about let alone go back for. I would recommend eating out for the price they charge and what you get is just not worth the value. But they staff make the hotel very nice and friendly.
We recently stayed at the Novotel Nadi on our return to Sydney. In hind sight we should have spent more money on a better hotel. The Hotel looked ok on arrival, but as soon as we arrived to our allocated room 804 the smell of mold and dampness just hit us. My allergies flared up as soon as the door was open. The room was dark, carpet damp, air-conditioning wasn’t working and the slide door was not lockable. My husband and I barely slept all night. The bathroom also needed upgrading. The only good thing the Novotel has going for it was the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to Fiji but not to the Novotel Nadi.
