Resort itself is stunning, everything is 5 star and clean. However, need a car to go into Nadi to eat sometimes because the food at the resort is horrendously expensive. Alcohol is a ripoff as well. So, lovely place to stay but if you want a little variety then get some wheels as it’s 40 mins from anywhere else you can eat.
Vinaka!!! Marriott you did not disappoint. We researched a lot of different stays in Fiji before booking and this was exactly what we were looking for, quiet, peaceful, secluded and relaxing. Your staff from reception, restaurants, bar, hospitality, Quan Spa, tour desk, buggy drivers and gardeners were so welcoming, their smiling faces and happy Bulas where ever we walked were infectious, you just had to smile back. We loved the family friendly environment and willingness to assist us where ever needed. We loved your restaurants and greetings, we heard so many happy birthday sing alongs at nearly every meal that you couldn’t help but join in. We were traveling with our 16 year old son who was treated with respectful adulthood, we greatly appreciated this. The adults infinity pool was just beautiful, sunsets from there were heaven sent but your staff again created an atmosphere to make you smile. We stayed in a lagoon front bure which is highly recommended. Swam daily from our room and enjoyed our beach and patio for most of our day. We looked at menus and prices for drinks and food before we even booked, we checked out the distance from Nadi (one of the reasons we ultimately chose momi bay!!) when you do the aus d to fiji it’s nearly on par with what your pay at a Marriott back home in Australia. I recommend joining the Marriott Bonvoy club so you get a discount on your drinks and food. We have been members for some years now and find it very beneficial when traveling for this reason. I would like to acknowledge Silvano the hotel manager for introducing himself to us on our first night at the sunset lounge and taking the time to have a chat with us. Special mention to Marcus, Anna, Laisana and the other beautiful smiling staff we were greeted by every morning. Moses and the other beautiful people for our awesome service at the sunset and fish bar (Highly recommended to try dinner there). This week has been the most relaxing holiday ever. We were blessed with amazing memories. Thank you Marriott Momi Bay
Nothing could be more perfect. Fiji warmth with a light breeze, wonderful smiling faces of staff who can’t wait to help you. The rooms are beautifully designed and presented. The beds are like no other I’ve slept on, supportive and somehow deeply soft. The pillows are huge like the bed and seem to fit any shape you want them too. We bought the breakfast ahead of time which was good. Very expensive but it’s good to have exactly what you want. You can opt for lighter breakfasts which in hindsight would have been far better. Momi Bay is 40 mins from Nandi and so for many of the trips which start on the coast near there it’s FJ$100 return per adult and then its FJ $220 up for your tour. Not suitable at all if you want to take a family. We ended up not doing any tours over the week because it was a very expensive place to stay in the first place. We thought we would immerse ourselves in water sports but the same thing happened. FJ$598 for tandem jet ski tour, $350 for tandem parasailing. The food at this beautiful resort is available from 3 themed restaurants, all are fantastic open air affairs with great food. The Fish Bar at the furthered point dishes up food which is exquisite and has the price tag to match. Our meal came to FJ$172 for 2 mains and a glass of wine. Very clean water so no sickness about. No concerns whatsoever eating salads here. So you may get my drift. It’s paradise with its massive man made lagoon, incredible garden landscapes but nothing is affordable. We enjoyed the lagoon beach with its pristine sand and the 3 beautiful pools but we did a lot of reading and walking, free aquarobics and weaving demonstrations. Still came away with regret that we couldn’t (wouldn’t) enjoy much more.
We are actually still here and wanted to leave after day 3 (9 in total) but cant as the hotel management have zero consideration for how dissappotinted we are and will charge us 100% ($13k aud ex breakfast) of our booked accomodation. (2 bure's, 3 adults 3 kids under 10). Photo is from our bure's decking - lovely! And thats where it stops. We are 1km from the cafes, resturants & pools & kids club so "everytime" we need to go out (and return) we have to book a buggy to pick us up. That means a wait up to 25 minutes. If we want to leave the hotel to explore its 30 mins+ to anywhere 1 way about $80 aud. Everything is rediculously expsensive (2 to 4 times australia) which magically is NOT shown on websites. The food is predominantly western, very under whelming and we eat the same average food every day. Where's the local seafood & produce? Its not at the Marriott! Mum (87 yrs old) wanted to be on the sand and after 5 days hasnt been able to make it past the lounges as she struggles to walk. Hotel has close to zero sympathy. Ideally we'd fly back to melbourne immediately and go to Thailand or Indonesia. Given thats not a reality, maybe the Hilton will take better care of us but we'll never find out about that either. Sorry, but its now highly unlikely we'd ever consider Fiji again given this experience.
We arrived last Friday and are checking out this afternoon. We have solidly enjoyed our stay, the friendly staff and the relaxed atmosphere. It is hard to believe when we walk around so many rooms are occupied yet the pools and restaurants never seem crowded. Thanks to staff like Leilani and Marcus, breakfast with a toddler was always a joy. We loved dining especially at the Fish Bar and in fact dined there twice. The sunsets were amazing and we were warmly greeted by name by the staff there, (special mention to Paul) and the resort manager Silvano took the time to chat to each night. We stayed in a lagoon front bure and it was so spacious and clean with the added bonus of the beach at our door. We would love to come back!
Magnificent resort with the friendliest service imaginable. Excellent food in the restaurants. It does not get better than this. Our lagoon front bure was spacious and had everything we needed. We especially loved the golf cart drivers who shuttled us around when needed. BULA
My husband and I spent a week here, it was the most relaxing beautiful place to stay. I would would highly recommend coming here if you want a quiet place to stay. The only downside, if you could call it that, was the food wasn't the best. I would recommend the bungalow on the beach facing the ocean.
We are two nights into our four night stay and are extremely disappointed in the service we have received so far. We are here for our honeymoon and the only thing we have enjoyed so far are the views and clean rooms. The staff is kind for the most part but there are clearly not enough staff for such a large hotel and so many guests. We have called the front desk numerous times for various things, band aids, ice refills and transport of our luggage only to be left waiting for hours if at all. When we called for the band-aid due to a bleeding cut the band-aid was simply never delivered. We had to walk to the front desk and have one of the ladies at the front find one for us. The front desk lady is not welcoming at all. She acts as if you woke her up from a nap every time she picks up the phone. She cuts you off when you ask for the transportation that you requested an hour ago saying that she will look into it. Yet she doesn't look into it because the transportation never comes. The food is average at best. The breakfast buffet was out of so many items including cups and water and the staff was so slow to refill. It seems like no one has a set job description so you occasionally get people that go above and beyond and do everything but majority of the time things just don't happen until you hassle them. We signed up for a beach front dinner and show which was from 6-9 pm and were asked to make an 8 pm reservation so that we could catch the second show. When we showed up at 8 there was no second show, the first show was over and everyone was leaving. The dinner was cold. Overall, we are highly disappointed in the quality of this Marriott and would not recommend this hotel given the price.
We stayed at Momi Bay for 8 nights with a family of 5 in two Lagoon Front Bures. The rooms are amazing with our own private beach and beautiful lagoon to swim in. We were in rooms right at the end which was well away from the majority of guests and about a 1km walk which I requested when booking and they were very accommodating. The room was made up beautifully every day and the staff doing the rooms were lovely. The lagoon was the only place we swam every day (as the pools are busy) and it was beautiful. Definitely bring your reef shoes for the lagoon. We took up the offer of $85 for your stay to use the non motorised water sports which was great. The canoes and stand up paddle boards were heaps of fun. We would often swim directly across the lagoon to get the boards to use each day which is great if you’re a good swimmer. We got breakfast included which was definitely worth doing as the food is quite expensive. Most basic meals in the standard restaurants are around F$40 for things like pizza or burgers etc. The Fish Bar which is their premium restaurant, served delicious food. It was my sons 15th birthday when we went there and they gave him a beautiful complimentary dessert and got all the staff to sing to him. It was very special. The staff are all run off their feet at all the restaurants so hiring more staff would make the eating experience more enjoyable and also allow the staff to exhibit more of the beautiful Fijian hospitality. We would definitely recommend staying here in the Lagoon front Bures!!
September 28, 2019. Our first night at the Fiji Marriott we were hopeful to eat dinner just to be told reservations were required but their other Lagoon restaurant could serve us. The other restaurant also said reservations were required so we inquired about carryout food. They were "to busy" to serve us any food. The next day at the Fiji Marriott Lagoon restaurant the service and food was extremely bad. We recieved the incorrect drinks and food from what we ordered and the staff was not very receptive to correcting the bill for what we actually recieved. This is by far the worst service I have ever seen from a Marriott hotel. C. Sims Mechanicsville Maryland
