TownePlace Suites by Marriott Farmington2.5 out of 5.0

We stay at a lot of Marriott facilities in the U.S. and very seldom have we been disappointed. They are very well run and consistent service and quality. Townplace Suites in Farmington met Marriott's usual high standards, and the young lady at the desk gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant--Si Senors--very good.
This Marriott property is a good place to stay when in Farmington, New Mexico. The room was clean and no complaints at all. As far as the parking is concerned most of the parking is behind the property and I wish the parking was a different situation. I will say that the gal at the front desk was very pleasant when checking in and the breakfast was hot and good.
I stayed here 1 night while looking at property and exploring the Durango area. It's a short drive, but definitely worth the savings (in money or in points). I also stayed 3 nights at Fairfield in Farmington and spent a long time debating between the two hotels, so I did some comparison during my stays. Here are my thoughts: - The Fairfield Inn is a new hotel and it's wonderful! I spend a lot of time on the road and I would definitely compare this to a Marriott Renaissance hotel. The pictures don't really do it justice, but the bathrooms are clean and modern (tile), the bedding is crisp, the bed super comfortable, and the fitness center is great. See also the note about breakfast below. The TownePlace Suites is also very comfortable, but it's more of a budget-line hotel with porcelain tub, thin comforter (but down), linoleum, etc. - I picked the TownePlace Suites because I wanted to do laundry. There are multiple washers and dryers, and it's $3.00 total. So it's likely you won't have to wait for a machine, but the machines are dated with just the most basic settings. So either you shrink your clothes on high or have damp clothes on low. Here's the important thing to note though (and different from earlier reviews) the Fairfield also has a washer and dryer on the second floor. Granted there's only 1 washer and dryer, but the machines are higher end with multiple settings. - I also picked TownePlace because of the kitchen. Truth is, though, that the only real benefits are dinner and silver ware, dishwasher and a big fridge. I tried to boil water on the "burners" but they barely heat up and I doubt would ever boil a pan of water. So you can't do much cooking. The Fairfield has a small fridge (no real freezer), microwave and coffee machine, so it's not as convenient for long-term stays. - The breakfast at the Fairfield is one of the best I've ever had, but of course everyone has different standards. It stood out for me because it had two types of fresh fruit, hardboiled eggs, tons of oatmeal toppings (dates and cranberries and two types of nuts among the other standard fixings), tons of bread options including gluten free muffins, bacon and eggs, waffles, chobani and other yogurts - I could go on and on. The TownePlace had canned fruit, good oatmeal, strange breakfast sandwiches (you can read the reviews), boiled eggs, waffle machine, and not a whole lot else. The upkeep of breakfast at Town Place was great, and the same at the Fairfield - except that the woman who handled breakfast the first morning at Fairfield was amazing at making sure everyone was comfortable and keeping an eye on everything. The second morning, the woman wasn't quite as attentive. The bowls were out when I got there (at 7 a.m.), the coffee ran out and we all had to wait about 10 minutes, and things generally just got low. She was still very friendly and helpful if I caught her attention or she was making the rounds, but she tended to spend more time in the kitchen than the breakfast area. - There were some complaints about the upkeep of TownePlace Suites and I saw staff literally wiping down the suitcase scuff marks on the room doors. They were constantly cleaning. Now I did find some mold on my shower curtain which was pretty obvious to me, so that was one disappointment. Everything was spotless at the Fairfield. - Both locations are quite convenient with the TownePlace within walking distance of Albertson's (Target and Walmart almost right across the street) and a Starbucks just a hop from the Fairfield and Safeway just a quick drive up the road. - The fitness center is much nicer at the Fairfield than Town Place but the pool is a little bigger at TownePlace. All in all, I would say the Fairfield exceeds expectations and the Town Place is a fine option too. The price is the same, but the Fairfield feels like a higher category hotel while the TownePlace Suites feels right around it's price range.
The hotel is right across the street from some restaurants (Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, Five Guys) which you can walk to. There's also some shopping opportunities in the direct neighborhood. The room was a 2 bedroom suite, which offers plenty of space, a full kitchen incl. dining table for 4 and a TV in every room. On the TV, there was Netflix, YouTube etc. available. The indoor pool was nice and large, the hot tub not too hot. Breakfast was ok and refilled in time. Only the beds were too soft for my taste, but that's a minor issue and a matter of personal taste.
We were traveling cross-country and stayed three nights in Farmington at TownPlace Suites. What a great location for exploring the Farmington area. We had a two-bedroom suite with a kitchen and it was perfect. The staff was excellent and the hotel had laundry facilities on the premises which was very convenient for month-long travelers. Breakfast was great and, as always, Marriott came through with an excellent experience. I highly recommend this hotel.
This was a great place to stay. The large closets and extra storage was very nice to have. The rooms were very clean. My only dislike was that the sofa sleeper folded right out to the end of our bed. We had to climb over each other to use the bathroom at night. But the stay was nice. And the rooms were very quiet. Breakfast was also a nice bonus.
My husband didn't realize he booked 2 bedroomIt was great price and great hotel we are definitely coming back here and looking same hotel different state. We love traveling road trip and try new hotels.
Hotel is quiet and in good location, cleaning services are good, but they are using a strong chemicals for cleaning (I think to remove pets odour) which are not good for the people having allergy........................
This place is ideal when passing through New Mexico, if you're visiting the Four Corners area, choose here. From the good choice in the breakfast buffet to nice rooms with kitchenette facilities. Best of all, walk to Chili's, Outback, Olive Garden and Albertsons !
We stayed at TownePlace Suites for a week. We were traveling with our adult daughter and grandson and were able to secure a two bedroom suite which met our needs perfectly. The unit had a small kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove, and all the necessary cutlery, pots, dishes, etc. to make simple meals in the room. The bedrooms were tight but each had a television, closet, and separate AC unit. We shared the single bath but it was split with a sink in one area and the tub/toilet in another so two could utilize the space at the same time. The hotel offers a decent breakfast buffet in the morning and coffee most of the day. Our room was clean and in good repair. The grounds were well kept and there is plenty of parking in the rear for large vehicles or those towing a trailer as we were. We didn’t utilize the pool or fitness center but both appeared to be clean and in working order. The staff was very accommodating and even allowed us to change rooms after our first night so we could have an upper floor with a better view. TownePlace isn’t a fancy upscale property but for less than $100 per night for a true 2 bedroom suite you can’t go wrong!
