My husband, myself and our dog recently stayed at this hotel. We were not expecting much, just needed a place to stay in Evanston and this hotel would have been great for the price. I booked and paid for the room on Orbitz since it was $15 cheaper than through the hotel's website. However i was not able to pay the pet fee on orbitz and planned on paying that at the hotel when checking in. Upon our arrival we were eventually met at the front desk by a kid who I gave my credit card to to pay for the pet fee. He charged my card and handed me back a receipt to sign for the full cost of the room. I explained to him, again, that I had already paid for the room and this needed to be for the pet fee only. He said that it was and I pulled up my bank account on my phone while at the front desk and showed him that I had just been charged $69 for the room again. He took my card back to "adjust the charge" and assured me that it had been changed to the pet fee only. It hadn't. Today I checked my statement again and saw that I had been charged $69 and I had essentially paid for the same hotel room twice. After calling the hotel they told me there was nothing they could do for at least a week because the manager was off this week and that it was my fault for not correcting it at the front desk before checking out...even though I tried to resolve it before stepping foot into the hotel room and had been assured that the charge had been removed. Warning to other travelers who book through a 3rd party site, check your account for duplicate charges. If you only have to pay for the room once this hotel would be fine, but it's not worth paying double for. We will not stay here again.
Great friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully spacious room. Good location with easy access to everything. Everything in room is very neat and clean. Coffee facilities, microwave and small fridge. Decor and furnishings look good and warm.
Evanston is not a very big town, so if you are looking for a huge selection in restaurants or bars, stop in Rock Springs. But if you want a reasonably priced hotel for the night, Evanston fits the bill (about $30-40 cheaper per night than Rock Springs). I stayed in room 201, which, apparently is a little bigger and more updated. Everything was clean, updated linens, new shower head (with adjustability), updated bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. It was at the end of a short hallway on the highway/ parking lot side. Surprisingly, you couldn't really hear the highway noise. You could hear parking lot noise, so if you are a light sleeper without earplugs...request the non parking lot side. That also being said, the fridge made lots of noises. I wear ear plugs at night so I didn't hear them until after I got up. Bed was comfy. Not too hard, but not super soft. Variety of pillow thicknesses to choose from, which is nice. Breakfast was tasty. Waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal...and the coffee was actually good! Staff were super nice too. If you are looking for a clean and comfy bed to sleep on at a reasonable price, stay here. I usually stay at a competitor hotel, but they were $35 more for one night. Based on the reviews and the fact we were only staying one night, I gave Quality Inn a try. I'm sure glad I did. Thank you Trip Advisor people for giving honest reviews to help the weary traveler! I would definitely stay here again. I would definitely stay here again.
We were snowed in here this past month, (Nov. 16 & 17). The staff was very helpful, friendly and made the stay as bearable as possible. This is a tired motel, badly in need of renovation. If the rooms were in better shape and amenities and breakfast better, I would give it 5 stars. When snow accumulates on the roof dish, the TV goes out until someone goes up there and cleans away the snow. The rating is based solely on the staff and owner experience. The room rate was fair and they didn't gouge us because of the weather being so bad. There is a restaurant across the road (food was pretty good) and thank goodness it was there, we weren't driving anywhere with road conditions the way they were.
I'm not picking here but was staying here on my trip west. Disappointed that the TV did not have the fox network. Asked front desk about it and she said. Channel 6, I went back my room didn't get channel 6. Wanted to watch World Series game 2. Had to go across street to sports bar. I will say nothing wrong with hotel it's self, clean comfortable but disappointing they cut cost by not having nothing but basic cable.
This is an older motel, in the process of renovating. All the rooms are not completed, and unfortunately we were given one of the lesser than nice ones, even though we made a reservation months in advance, and are long time Choice members. The room had a strong odor, the carpet was stained, wall plaster chipped, and the arm chair arms were absolutely filthy (I've seen better chairs in Goodwill stores). None of the trashcans in the room had liner bags, and when I requested some, I was told that the manager considered them "unsanitary" and preferred that the cleaning staff wipe out the trash cans when they cleaned the rooms. That was a new one, and I feel sorry for the staff having to put out that extra effort for each room. The web site showed a beautiful lobby, which apparently was one of the first things re-furbished, and nice clean rooms. Unfortunately that first impression was not a prelude to a nice room. I'll give them credit for a comfortable bed. They had a good fitness room - weight bench, recumbent bike, treadmill, weight machine - but no sanitation wipes, even though there was a sign posted to wipe the machines after use. The breakfast was very good, the typical Choice style, and attendant very friendly. In fact, all the staff were very cordial and helpful, even though they had to receive comments about room conditions (mine wasn't the only one I heard). It seems to me that when a hotel is renovating in this manner, that those unfit rooms should be closed off until the renovation is complete. I credit the owners/manager with a poor management judgement, and perhaps Choice should review the advertising of their brands and ensure that all rooms are up to the standards expected. To say the least, we were disappointed and expected the typical stay at Quality Inns that we were accustomed to. I have to give them a grade of C+ and I will probably pass on this hotel in the future.
Regular hotel for one night only. Rude General Manager, does not respond to a simple hello from the guest. Good room. But, Security doors in corridor open all night Breakfast was not replenished, and when we asked. The general manager came, but very angry. There are other hotels across the Avenue and the same price. Do a search. I will not be back in this hotel
the staff was very courteous and the rooms were great. A nice quiet place to sleep. it was close to town and plenty of eats near by. as far as adventuring the Unita mountains offer all types of recreation activities such as hiking, biking, motorcycle riding , horseback riding photography opportunities. a great place to make a side adventure only 20 min from Evanston
Pulled in after a long drive and was glad to find a clean comfortable room. Had trouble with the key card not unlocking the door. The desk clerk checked it out and switched us to a nicer room. Not much around the area late we ordered pizza
Clean no frills rooms with a hot breakfast! We were very pleased with our stay here, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent value (1 night cost me $95 inc tax) We felt well rested for our trip to San Francisco the next morning. Breakfast starts at 6AM. Would stay again
