This is a nice quaint place with a great view. We saw deer every time we went out on the balcony. Owners were friendly as well.

The owners are pleasant and communicative folks with world experience. The room accessibility is challenging for older people: 15 high steps up with everything over a steep stairway to reach the guest quarters. For younger folks this may be no issue. The bedroom does not have a queen size bed, only a standard double bed. We have not been confronted with such narrow bedding arrangements in many years and found it unsatisfactory. By our own choice for decades, we live and sleep in a queen size bed in our daily home lives--- no problem. The grounds around the house are peaceful and beautiful; watched deer in the morning from the eastern balcony! Easy walking distance and access to "Downtown Ferndale". The Victorian restauration credit given to Ferndale is exaggerated. Lots of fake facades with whatever behind it. We have been in Ferndale 20+ years ago; no need to return again.

Thank you for your kind words...However this is the first complaint we have had over having to use the the stairway to get to the suite....So far (10 years) we have had no problems both with the all of our senior citizen visitors as well as younger families. We are sorry that the stairs caused you some problem, but the Copenhagen suite is located on the second floor. And, yes the bed in the bedroom (in the Copenhagen suite only) is a Danish made queen size bed, the bed located in our Aalborg suite is a standard double bed, just as per the description in our website. However we do appreciate all commentaries from our valued guests. And, again thank you for choosing Ye Olde Danish Inn.
