I can’t say enough good things about this place. We stayed for 2 nights and loved it - big, airy lodges that are spotlessly clean. Weather was a little stormy when we visited so the fire, deep bath and onsite laundry were much appreciated. Having breakfast on the deck and listening to sea lions bark was just lovely. The guy checking us in pointed us towards Trinidad and recommended a couple of restaurants too. Great location for Patrick’s Point State Park and Agate Beach too.

We stayed here four nights while we were exploring the Redwood National Park and northern California coast. When you drive to this lodge from the south, take the Trinidad exit that is closest to Patrick's Point State Park. WAZE had us take another exit and the road wasn't as good. View Crest Lodges are located near Patrick's Point State park which has many great hiking trails and views of the ocean. We drove to the State Park and gladly paid the daily use fee because the park is so well maintained. The lodge was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. We enjoyed the breakfast we could get each morning. We fell in love with the little town of Trinidad, but were glad we were staying in a more removed location. It was an easy drive to the lagoons, various beaches, Kuchel Visitor Center and Scenic Drive through the Prairie State Park. We would highly recommend these lodges to others who want to enjoy the peaceful wonderful Pacific Coast of Northern California. We were amazed that we could hear the Sea lIons from one mile away.

After 15 years of marriage this was a honeymoon delight with king bed, fireplace and in room hot tub. Continental breakfast was one of the best ever. Staff was very welcoming and gave great local advice such as Prairie Creek for old growth hiking. Our favorite: going to sleep with elephant seals barking!

We have been wanting to get to the Redwood Natl. Park area for many years-we live in the midwest. Finally, we made it, and View Crest Lodge was absolutely FABulous! We are already planning to come back with our kids and grandkids, and have passed on this little treasure to others. THe location is just great-so close to the very nice, small town of Trinidad, with good places to eat, get groceries-great beach, etc. I just wish we would have had a few more days. The cabin was SO comfortable-great beds-must have memory foam mattresses-very clean, nice complete bathroom, and so quiet! Complete kitchen. My only request would be room-darkening shades in the bedrooms-but that is minor-we slept so well. And, the bonus-my husband accidentally his business calendar in the cabin, and didn’t discover it for 2 days-the management had already tried contacting us, and was even going to bring it to us at the airport we were flying out of. Who does that anymore? Such amazing service. We also appreciated the nice bfast room in the morning, and the Keurig coffee in the room! THanks, ViewCrest-we will be back!

We’re only spending one night on our way north along the coast, but we’re very pleased with this place and highly recommend it. We stayed in 7B, and everything was great. It appears to be recently remodeled, very clean, everything we needed - two TVs, small kitchen with everything needed for a longer stay, very nice bathroom with granite countertop. My only suggestion would be to have at least one folding luggage “rack.” I highly recommend it and great value!

We arrived later in the day and the owner checking us in was helpful in making us a reservation at the only local restaurant that was still open and it was fabulous. The cabin was huge and clean and had all the amenities one could need. We could hear seals barking on our back porch, breakfast was do it yourself but had a wide selection of items to choose from. If I could make a suggestion, an extra charge option of make your own sandwiches to take away would be great as this area is gorgeous for hiking. Make sure to go to Agate Beach if you're in the area.

We spent two very relaxing nights here. It is a good deal for the amount of space that you get. We appreciated the on site laundry. The continental breakfast was very good. The staff that checked us in was super friendly and had good recommendations. It was cool to hear sea lions barking in the distance

Great place and great folks. Our receptionist at check-in was wonderful; even called the best local restaurant to make sure we could get a table. The individual cabins with hot tubs are well equipped and would be perfect for a longer stay. The one exception that makes this a 4 rating is the hot tube was not very clean; seems the water needed to be changed.

We got a very nice room and the host was so friendly and helpful suggesting some hikes and restaurants in the area. We had room 7a with has a large porch to sit on and listen to the sea loins I. The ocean

First off let me say that I chose this location because I thought it had a hot tub in the cottage. Sadly, our cabin did not. I had 3 grown children traveling with my husband and I up the coast of California and I wanted a place that could house us all comfortably and be close to activities. We stayed in cabin 8. The 2 bedroom/2 bath house was phenomenal and I was afraid my family wouldn't want to leave. After one day of relaxation, I went to the front desk to ask the extremely knowledgeable Joanna (I think that was her name) who gave us a VERY detailed map with all the hidden treasures, what to do in the area. We spent the next two days exploring Trinidad, the tide pools, and the redwoods. At night we cracked our windows and listened to the seals barking. The continental breakfast was great. I only wished our cottage would have had a journal where we could have left our experiences for the next group and possibly read what others had done on previous stays. It was a great place to stay and I could see returning there one day and centering our vacation around the View Crest Lodge. Maybe next time one with a hot tub :)
