This is a clean, safe and quiet place to stay. Accommodations aren't much better than a standard motel room but get the job done. We stayed in an upgraded room with a fireplace and jacuzzi which was nice. But the room smelled a little musty and we needed new pillows b/c of the odor. The towels and toilet paper were pretty rough. No luxuries here. All in all, if you are looking for a standard place to stay this is it.
We have stayed at the White Gull in Fish Creek every year for over 30 years, but this time we wanted to be bring our dog. As the White Gull has a no pooch policy, I poured over Trip Advisor for a recommended dog friendly place to stay, and Somerset had all the best reviews. And trust me, they are well deserved. The room was good-sized and spotless. The white duvets were soft and fluffy. There was a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, flat screen tv, and balcony. And all the hotel staff was super nice. When we checked out, we were asked if everything in the room was working correctly and to our liking. There is a little "family room" where we watched the Emmy Awards with our dog. Felt like home. There are also pools and hot tubs, which we did not use, but we walked across the street to Red Putter mini golf (in its 45th year) and I almost beat my husband. We'll still go to the White Gull every summer, but now we'll add the Somerset to our fall plans every year.
Somerset Inn has it all - great location, friendly staff, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, plenty of parking and clean, comfy rooms! We stayed over the weekend and it was delightful. The staff was attentive and helpful, check in was quick and efficient. The Inn was full, but we never heard any noise or other guests. There is a area to purchase snacks and get a cup of coffee, as well as soda and ice machines near the rooms. The pool and hot tubs are clean and well maintained. The beds and linens were super comfy. Our room was large and had a fridge and microwave. Ephraim is right in the middle of Door County, giving you easy access to Fish Creek and Sister Bay. The couple who run the hotel were professional and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back!
Anyone coming here expecting big city type hotel rooms will obviously be disappointed. But this is Door County, where the hotels are homey and quiet and yes, sometimes outdated but that's part of the charm. It's not slick and shiny, it's like home. Our suite fit our family just fine, the bed was comfortable as was the pull out bed. The balcony was nice and overlooked the outdoor pool area. The hallways were a little bit stuffy but we were still comfortable hanging out in the foyer area and playing games while watching the kids swim in the pool. The pool was typical of a smaller hotel, and the outdoor pool was a nice touch. Would have liked to have an outdoor fire pit, maybe something for consideration as we noticed the hotel next door had one. Overall it was a good stay, good price, and friendly people.
Great location. Inn has both an outdoor and indoor pool as well as a jacuzzi. The room has a small refrigerator as well as a microwave oven. A coffee machine is also included. Our room had a small porch overlooking the outdoor pool. There is also a grill by the pool. The onky negative is the size of the bathroom which was very small.
We just returned from two nights at Somerset Inn and Suites. Like other reviewers have stated the location is perfect pretty much in between Sister Bay and Ephraim. Accommodations were spotless, plenty of amenities and the staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our visit special. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this property. Hopefully see you again in 2020.
I had a great 4 days at Somerset. It’s a very comfortable, clean, affordable motel, ideally located close enough to the heart of Ephraim, but away from the crowds, so it’s nice and quiet. I was there with my dog and unlike other lodging choices, Somerset did not gouge with a ridiculous pet fee. The $30 charge covered the entire stay. The owners and their staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Enjoyed a two night stay recently in a clean and comfortable suite. Staff was efficient, even sending an email prior to our stay regarding road contruction. The pool and hot tub were clean. Perfect weather for the gas fireplace in our suite. We would stay there again.
My husband and I just returned from a three night stay here. I loved it! A very comforting, and warm suite. We enjoyed the hot tub, and everything about this place. We would make a return visit there, no doubt.
My husband and I recently stayed here. The price was under $100 since it was before Memorial Day. Our king suite was spacious and clean. They do not offer breakfast but there are plenty of restaurants in the area. The person at the front desk was very welcoming.
