This was a great stop for a night. Staff is friendly. It at first appears clean and new, but then you realize it’s been renovated. Well done, but more attention needed on the cleanliness of the floors and corners. Pillows are very uncomfortable, small and well used. Need to be updated. The shower floor was the slipperiest we’ve ever had in a hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby within walking distance, and not only chains.
The check-in was quick and friendly, our room was big, clean and somewhat updated, but the toilet paper dispenser was broken. The wi-fi speed was good and the breakfast had a good choice of items including biscuits and sausage gravy and was maintained by a very nice lady.
The first stay was lovely. The room was nice , the front desk was professional, the breakfast was good. 2nd and third not as great. Second stay we got the room over the front entrance that had a cement wall for a view. Not a last minute booking, we had a reservation about a week in advance. This stay I requested that we not have that same view only to get to the room and have exactly that. I went right down to change the room. We ended up in a room on a partial smoking floor. I woke up choking on smoke and burying my head under the covers to breathe. The young lady on the desk could not have been more disinterested on check in and changing our room. The first two stays they also double charged us for the pet fee.
Arrived at the Sleep Inn on a Saturday evening, no reservations but we had called ahead and were told there were lots of rooms. We attempted to use the “ Hotel Coupon” for $75 but were told they were not being accepted and the rate would be $129. I asked about AAA and got the rate reduced to $114. We had stayed at this hotel previously and knew the rooms were okay. The wifi was very slow so we used our phone data . It seems they have two levels of wifi and everyone wants to connect at once. This is a very poor service model, do not depend on wifi access here during a normal check in time.
Sleep Inn was not our first choice of hotels in Emporia. We were traveling to Connecticut from Florida and weren’t sure how far we would make it. The hotels I preferred were booked. I could not have been more wrong about Sleep Inn. The room was fabulous. It looked very recently updated with beautiful decor.it had everything we needed (lots of outlets for our electronics),great pillows. We wanted to get on the road early so we just got coffee from the morning breakfast. The breakfast started early (love that) and looked pretty mediocre but did have some hot items and not all carbs. Any staff members we dealt with were courteous and helpful.
We chose Sleep Inn over other near by hotels based on previous stays at other locations. Staff was helpful but the room had a very uneven slanted floor, keeping the bathroom door from staying open and making it impossible to open the room door al the way. There were stains on the carpet. The bathtub stopper was removed and laid on the tub side. Bottom of tub was covered in what I assume were rust stains making it unable to use. Probably won't use this chain again AND it was more expensive than other choices.
Hotel was clean , nice lobby, nice rooms, nice continental breakfast. Only negatives were the tiny pillows and the lack of tables and chairs in the breakfast area. Just not enough room during busy breakfast time.
While driving back from Florida, we stopped her for one night. It was a great hotel to stop at. Check in was quick. The hotel (rooms, lobby, etc) was clean. It was right off I-95. The hotel was quiet. $15 for each dog.
Decent rate, convenient to the Interstate and several good restaurants nearby. The place is undergoing renovations (it needs some updating), but I was overwhelmed by the helpfulness of the staff. For example, when the self-service laundry dryer wouldn't work, the clerk not only refunded my money but took my clothes to the housekeeping staff and had them dry my laundry. What a great step over and above. Good breakfast, adequate work-out facilities, good Internet access. I'd happily stay here again...
Stayed at Sleep Inn on our trip back from Florida to New Hampshire. Was able to book a room on the commute. The hotel was clean, the night staff friendly and efficient( we were tired lol) . The room was clean and modern and the beds.... so comfortable! The shower had a great water pressure for a nice hot shower. Will stay there again on the next trip.
