They charger for wifi usage!

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Lodge. It was very close to Yosemite entrance (maybe 15mins away). Rooms were clean, market had ample supplies. Staff were very friendly. Only gripe is there is no cell service at all so you are reliant on WiFi which is an extra $10/day.

Good location to Yosemite National Park entrance. Clean and spacious room. Doors and windows aren’t sound proofing well. Could hear traffic and people talking. Overall it’s a good place to stay for its proximity to the national park entrance.

Great service and friendly staffs convenience location for Yosemite.

Good location to the NP.

Very close to Yosemite National Park surrounded by mountains.

Near yosemite

The rooms are outdated, like seriously outdated. Terrible bedding and poor service. Asked for a spare blanket which was given on time but it was dirty, there was tree bark and lawn particles sticking all over the blanket. The shower curtain was very dirty so definitely needs replacement and on top of that it was wet as if someone showered in the morning and it was not wiped clean. The overall vibe of the room was depressing. The good part is that property is located close to Yosemite entrance gate and it also has a decent restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Awesome

Very pricey with no basic amenities on the property like microwave, paid wifi (when they are aware of no cellular reception)

The lodge is fairly close to Yosemite Valley, about a 10-15 min drive from the El Portal entrance of Yosemite. The check-in time is convenient, specially for those that are not arriving early in the day. Staff was friendly and the lodge's lobby and store was nice. The beds/mattresses in the suite i stayed in had a bit of a "wiggly/jello like/semi solid" kinda feel when you laid on them, which for me was a bit of an inconvenience when it came to sleeping since i usually sleep in a fairly firm memory foam mattress. Other than that, my stay was good and I would consider staying here again.

Great outdoor pool, wonderful lobby open at all hours with coffee, hot water and microwave - perfect for hanging with our toddler in the early morning hours while rest of family slept.

Great

We liked size of our room, beds, pools, hotel landscaping. Was very quiet. What we did not like: I've tried to use wi-fi and was ready to pay for it but was not able to connect. There is also no cellular service. Very limited cable TV channels. Cable TV was not working, but got fixed quickly after I have called to Front Desk. AC is so loud like a tractor and does not cool the room. The room, especially the bathroom needs refreshing. The hotel's restaurant has only 3 items in the menu, but even with very limited menu I've got the wrong food. I have ordered a simple cheeseburger, but instead got a veggie burger. Overall the hotel is very convenient to people who visit Yosemite NP like us. Because of the location the hotel is overpriced but does not want to spend a little to refresh the rooms or even buy a new bedsheets. Charging extra for not working wi-fi is just insane.

The food wasn't fancy but, it was good and plentiful. Just what you need after a day of hiking. Two pools and a hot tub! Thelocation is excellent!!!!

I was a little worried because the reviews for Cedar Lodge were all over the place... well the negative reviews were not justified during our stay! The property is so beautiful and clean with great amenities and convenient to the location of yosemite. The room was quiet and black out dark. We loved the 2 pools on the premises and the fact that they were open til 10 was great for late arrivers like us, after a 4 hour drive kids got a chance to let all their energy out before bed and no, there was not any extra noise from the late pools. We enjoyed walking around the property, it was so peaceful and the lanterns that were hung all over made the late night walk light and beautiful. There are many benches, gazebos and lawn chairs all over, along with picnic areas and bbqs. We only stayed for one night but seeing all these amenities makes us want to return, and stay longer next time 😄 On a Friday morning, only the little cafe was open so food was limited for us and it was so-so. We saw that the restaurant was up and running the night before but we didn't try it. Cleaning staff was very pleasant and very friendly, I thought that was a great sign for the establishment to have such friendly and curteous staff.

The hotel had no cell service and conveniently had Internet provided by a 3rd party which means you had to pay (per 2 devices) to have any sort of communication. Our room was covered in ants and the front desk didn’t seem bothered by it.

Loved the vintage vibe of the old school lodge. The staff was friendly and helpful. The gift shop/store had a nice selection of offerings. The outdoor pool was refreshing after a long, hot day of hiking. The on-site restaurant was simple and had a very limited menu but the food was good. Great location in proximity to Yosemite and across from a river. Bedding and carpet could use some updating, the bathroom, bath towels and vegan bath amenities were nice.

Hello, sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience here at our hotel. Perhaps I could shed some light and or help you understand why we are lacking in some of the things in which would have made your stay better. At the moment, our Kitchenette rooms and our Three bedroom suites are the only rooms with microwaves. We do have a microwave available in our lobby for guests to use any time they wish. The owner of the hotel has already taken note of guests requesting microwaves in all rooms. This year one of our buildings was badly damaged in a fire. At the moment restoring this building is a priority. As for Wi-Fi, yes it is provided via a 3rd party company called E-terminals. They provide Wi-fi for guests here at Yosemite Cedar Lodge and Yosemite View Lodge. As a local I can confirm that there is no cell reception in our little El Portal, CA and I can confirm that wi-fi is difficult to come by here. I understand your frustration, trust me. It is a conversation the owner of our hotel has had with E-terminals. He has considered added the cost of wi-fi into the room cost but as you stated, our rooms can be pricey, especially when using 3rd party booking sites during holiday seasons and our summer season. Incorporating wi-fi cost into the room cost would take having to negotiate with E-terminals. As for now, I believe E-terminals likes the current contract they have with our hotel and do not wish for it to change. I do not know when the contract is due. I hope this helped you understand why were lacking in these things. We are sorry you didn't have good stay. We will definitely remind Jerry (the owner) about the microwave and wi-fi issue. -Yosemite Cedar Lodge
