Stayed at this hotel for a 3 day family reunion. The initial check in went okay...after finding the hotel, way back off the road (they really need a sign at the road)......went down hill after that. We arrived with a bus load of family members and many cars. Needless to say, we had a lot of people staying at this hotel. From my understanding, the coordinator of the reunion had been in contact with the hotel manager for about 9 to 10 months and was informed of different activities that were to take place while we stayed at the hotel. There were activities planned at the hotel the second day that we were there but the staff had no idea what was going on. Since there were plenty of kids, there was a pool party planned with a DJ but we were told that we could not have music in the pool area and that there must be 1 adult present for every child that was in the pool. Not sure where they do that at. The second thing was that we were going to cook hotdogs on the grill during the pool party and the only grill that was available was a small charcoal grill that could probably hold 10 maybe 12 hotdogs at one time (we had more than 400 hotdogs). The staff was asked to contact the hotel manager because she knew what was planned. We were told by a couple of different staff members that they had tried to call the hotel manager but could not reach her (This was a Friday morning). During the next couple of days, the staff was asked if they had heard from the manager and each time they told us that they could not get in touch with her. The other issues that took place was that we were told by one staff member that they did not have enough towels and that we needed to turn in towels for them to wash and bring back to the rooms. We then were told by another staff member that if any towels were missing after our stay that we would get charged for them. Oh, did I mention that when the towels were returned that they were wet....hummmm, washed or not.....that is the question. Many of the rooms had a pull out sofa but you had to get the linens for them at the front desk. Well the first night we were told that they had ran out of pillows so many of the families went to the local Wal-Mart and bought pillows. We let the staff know that pillows were brought, in case they wanted to charge us for taking them after our stay. Upon our departure on Sunday morning, we still had not heard from the hotel manager. Now, rather they really tried calling her or they did and she just did not answer, guest we will never know. We were told that it was common for them not to be able to get in touch with the manager when they need her. Comfort Inn....HOPE YOU FIND YOUR MISSING MANAGER!!
Did not feel safe when getting out of car heading into the hotel. May need more parking lot lighting due to the location of the hotel. Other than that I could not have asked for anything more pleasant.
We reserved many rooms for a family get together. Chose this hotel because of the pool and a way for the kids to burn off energy; but the pool was closed for repairs. Wish we would have been notified. Bed was pretty firm. Pillows were small and wimpy. Water pressure in the shower was weak. Rooms appeared clean. Breakfast was ok and they ran out of biscuits. We were enjoying visiting with extended family members and a staff member came over and turned on the tv really loud so we couldn’t visit at breakfast. Difficulty getting the curtains to block out the intense light from in front of the building at night. Front desk attendant was friendly when we checked in. Rates seemed a bit high for the area.
We were in town for a funeral. Our family had about 7 rooms. There was another family reunion group in the hotel also. All of the staff was very nice and pleasant. They even let us use a meeting room on Saturday night for our family to gather. The hotel has breakfast available, and though it go crowded quickly, they tried to keep it well supplied. Great bonus: fresh baked cookies in the evening. The snicker-doodles were amazing!!!
I’m a Hilton guy to the core and I normally stay at the Hampton Inn in El Dorado. I could not get in to the Hampton this trip so I stayed here. What a wonderful surprise! This is nicer than any Hampton in the area. I will stay here again even though I won’t earn HH points.
The place is average. We notice a lot of signs letting guests know they were making improvements. There was one ice machine on the first level. The one on the second level had been removed. The vending machine a bit expensive and not well stocked. The pool was fantastic. The breakfast was there. It had either been picked through by 8:30 am or it was just sad. The room was okay. It was clean enough, but the smell was overwhelming. It was the smell of them trying to clean the air from a previous smoker. Not a smoker smell or a cleaner smell, but like a air filter that hadn't been changed in a long time. Would I stay again? Yes, because of the pool for the kids. It was a place to sleep and shower and that is all I expected and it met my expectations.
Putting green, basketball court, secluded in the pines, no highway noise, freshly updated and renovated rooms .....any questions? This place would be a great find anywhere, but Camden Arkansas, what a deal!!
I was not expecting a facility this nice in such a small town. The renovations are great. I stayed here once several years ago and don't remember it being so nice. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. Staff was friendly. Better experience than our stay in Little Rock.
This hotel is not visible from the road. I happened to find it while working in the area and thought I would have to drive to Magnolia for a room. It was great !! Clean, great service, excellent breakfast,
When I checked out I received a call from the asst. general manager who informed me that cigarette ashes were found in between the bed and nightstand. I told her I don't smoke and if I did I would insist on a smoking room or step outside. She insisted that I did and that the rooms are thoroughly clean but I never mentioned to her when I got in the shower there was an old bar of soap left there by the cleaning staff. So the rooms are not as thorough as she would like to believe..I hate that we couldn't come to an understanding on this matter. I was also banned from the property which I feel was very unprofessional considering she had no proof I committed this act..
