I chose to stop staying at my regular Holiday Inn due to poor management and continuous bad stays and I am glad I did. This hotel is worth the extra 10 minutes I have to drive to get to work. It is quiet, clean and the staff are friendly and caring. Guests are allowed access to the Gold's Gym next door which is nice and there is a Swiss Chalet and a gas station a stone throw away from the hotel. Very handy. I will stay here again.

On tour with 10 band and crew members. This hotel was easy to get to and had plenty of parking in the large lot for vans and trailer. Front desk staff were very welcoming and accommodating with our group arriving in two shifts, especially when my corporate credit card was in a bag with the other half of our group who were 3 hours behind us. Hotel was clean, rooms great size and VERY comfy beds and pillows! Front desk staff put our ice packs in their fridges over night for us. Breakfast was good, gym access was awesome, and plenty of choices for food and shopping in the parking lot. Enjoyed our stay here so much that we booked it for the return trip as well. Even more impressed with that stay as our lead singer forgot his iPad in the room and housekeeping manager, Rose, couriered it to us. Thank you and we will see you again soon I hope!

Major issues with our key card the entire stay. Staff were somewhat apologetic but being that I heard them say "I thought this room door had been fixed" led us to believe that it's an ongoing problem. Air conditioner had wires hanging out from underneath and sounded like an old jalopy car, but unfortunately it was too hot to sleep without it running. Beds were comfortable and room was very clean. Breakfast was very good, unfortunately the seating area is quite small so we ended up eating back in our room. Halls and common areas were also very clean.

My wife and I needed to stay here for a few days do to plumbing issues in our home... The front desk staff was quick to give us a free upgrade to a King Size Bed!!! Extremely friendly staff!!! This place is super clean!!! Mattress in room looked new when inspected!!! Room was cleaned without fail!!! Pool and hot tub were also great!!! Swiss Chalet next door and Tim Hortons across the parking lot!!! I would happily recommend this hotel!!!

As most other reviewers state, this is a clean hotel in a pretty convenient area for access to the LRT. Gas station, Tim Hortons and Swiss Chalet in the parking lot with many more restaurants and shopping venues within walking distance. The staff were very accommodating and always greeted us with a smile. Great wifi. The breakfast is the standard Holiday Inn stuff. As always, the breakfast area was too crowded to sit so we took our plates to our room. The only negative was that the furniture is starting too show its age but that's to be expected. All in all it was a good stay and we would stay here again.

Chose this hotel for its proximity to an event we were attending. Was impressed with the day before courtesy call from the desk staff. Check in was smooth. The desk staff were attentive and helpful with any questions and requests. Room was clean. All the 'equipment' in the room worked well (air conditioner, fridge, Kerrigan coffee maker, clothes iron). Room was quiet and comfortable. Liked the pillows labelled firm and soft, and happy to have two of each on the bed. Mattress was supportive and comfortable. All white, crisp, clean bedding is appreciated. Breakfast had good choice, fresh fruit and juices, Hot and cold choices to satisfy picky eaters. The coffee was good, smooth and dark. Breakfast area was clean, bright, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive.

We stayed in this hotel as a family (2 adults, 2 daughters). The hotel was ok, they were very accommodating with an early check in, we found the rooms were small and needed a better cleaning. We really should have had at least 4 towels and more toiletries as we paid the extra for 4 people. The staff were exceptional, I inadvertently forgot our toiletry bag and they gave us deodorant, shaving supplies, toothbrush and toothpaste at no charge. They averted a major crisis for me! We took advantage of the ammenities...I thought the hot tub could use a good cleaning but the pool was nice. All in all it was a great overnight stay.

very nice hotel. room are very clean. public area as well. parking is free. free wifi. located just by a gaz station , near many major stores. there is a swiss chalet just beside it but i do not recommend it. i will be back on my next trip to edmonton

We arrived very late around 12:30 AM, there were at least 3 people ahead of us. It was quick and seem less and Front Staff was very friendly and acknowledged us being an IHG member. Room was clean, no issues whatsoever. Breakfast was adequate and breakfast area very clean. The lady tending the breakfast area was very attentive. She quickly refilled the items and made sure the area was kept clean. All of the staff we're very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Will definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area. Location is great too, tons of restaurants, Costco and Canadian superstore across the hotel.

Have experienced several HIEX hotels while travelling. All of them have been comfortable and have great staff working in them. The HIEX at 13742 50th St NW is no exception. Clean, quiet and comfortable. We stayed 4 nights on the 6th floor. The only minor annoyance (if you can call it that) was the transit trains travelling behind the hotel along the corridor. Electric and quiet with only the wheels clacking. The hotel provides ear plugs for the room if necessary. The trains did not bother us one bit. In fact our grandkids enjoyed watching them from the window when they visited us at the hotel. The best part of our stay is the staff working there. Without question, they were all polite and friendly to all of us and other guests. Props to the the fellow (forgot his name) working the night shift there. He tried to help me with an internet problem I was having and also opened the breakfast area for me to get a coffee at 5:50 a.m. Wonderful! The staff were the friendliest we have encountered in our hotel stays in Canada. Thank you to management for hiring great team members. The pool and hot tub were a nice respite for our grand girls and us to get in some swimming. Small pool, but just right. Towels are provided. The breakfast bar was well supplied and the lady working there on the mornings we stayed was friendly and helpful. Always ensuring that supplies were kept up. Housekeeping was excellent as well. Beds were comfortable and soft. Keurig coffee maker, small fridge and microwave were also in the room. For those looking for food at other times, there is a Swiss Chalet right next door and also a Tim Hortons at the Esso station a few paces from the front door. Large gym next door to the hotel which seemed busy. I recommend this hotel for those who need to stay in this area of Edmonton. There are about 4 or 5 other HIEX in Edmonton also, so a good choice should you need it.
