Great layout. Well-stocked. Even had milk in fridge. On High Street - alley access so you can’t avoid the stairs. Fab view.
We were upgraded to a family suite and wished we had others to share it with because it was so nice. Great location on the Royal Mile but super quiet on a little courtyard off the road. Would definitely stay there again
Great service , comfortable unique rooms, amazing location what more could you ask for! Probably my best hotel experience in Europe. Only concern would be for someone with mobility issues as stairs are impossible to avoid.
Our family of 4 had two - one nights stays this past week at the Old Town Chambers. You can't beat the tucked away location in the middle of old town -- a quick walk to the train station, great restaurants and the Castle. The apartments are clean and well equipped. Yes, there is a huge flight of stairs you need to climb coming up from the train station so if stairs are an issue and you have bags you might find a ride around to the street with fewer stairs. On our first night we were upgraded from a 1br family apartment to a 2br with a fabulous view of the Christmas Market across the street. On our second night we were in the 1br family apartment (which does have a second sleeping area anyway) which was just as nice (yes slightly smaller and no view, but plenty of space for 4 of us). Everyone who worked there was so friendly and extremely helpful with all of our questions - both hotel and general Edinburgh-related. A great find!
This was an ideal choice for my stay in Edinburgh. It's perfectly located on the Royal Mile, with restaurants and things to see/do, only steps away. We'd booked a Family Apartment, which is a 1 bedroom, but with a "Bed Deck" and were assigned Apartment 7. The kitchen was well-furnished, and the living area was a great place to just hang out. As you came in the front door, the bed deck was to your right, up a small step. The queen-sized bed fills the entire nook, with the exception of a space at the foot of bed, some shelves, and an open closet. (There are no drawers, in case you're interested.) But there is a wide shelf at the head of the bed that holds electronics, books, snacks...and there's an electrical outlet in it. The bed was really quite comfy. and I had the feeling of being in a nest. Privacy curtains hang at the doorway and the window to the apartment hallway, so whoever is sleeping in it isn't disturbed by anyone using the kitchen. The bathroom was modern and, again, well equipped with full size toiletries. The only quirk is that the sliding door to the bedroom has a glass panel in it, so if you turn on the bathroom light, it might disturb a light sleeper. All of these things added up to the perfect apartment for the two of us, allowing us to share common space, but live our own schedules without bothering the other person. One detail that I really liked was that each apartment has its own wifi router, so the signal was good and strong.
Looked at hundreds of hotels as I planned our trip. But just kept going back to the Chambers. We chose it and OMG it’s stunning. Located in a tiny close directly opposite St. Giles cathedral in the heart of true Old Town. Our two bedroom, two bath apartment was gorgeous. Everything was so clean and so beautifully decorated. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. The front desk was always helpful and answered all our touristy questions. Emails were very promptly replied to. literally everything you want to do in Edinburgh is steps away , but the noise level is very quiet as the apartments are tucked away inside. You can’t go wrong with this option. Loved loved loved. Do visit the Devils Advocate pub steps away and have the chicken. Just AMAZING. drinks are also delicious here. I will dream about the Chambers for years. A plus !!!!!!!!!!
The entrance to the hotel is down a very old Close, right in the heart of Old Town. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was modern, as was the kitchen (plus laundry). The surprise is the delightful mix of modern refurbishments and old walls and beams Loved staying here
i highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are travelling as a family. It is so close to everything, and the view from our room was spectacular, especially ar night. Every amenity was top notch--we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Hidden beholden high street in alley way. Nice accommodation.
Old Town Chambers is an excellent, clean and modern styled hotel, right in the heart of Edinburgh. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location down the Roxburgh's Close off of High Street is close to everything, and quiet.
Absolutely loved the Old Town Chambers. You are actually renting an apartment rather than just a hotel room, but with all the same amenities. The apartment was very comfortable and quite roomy. It was also spotlessly clean and made up daily. The bed was comfortable with extra pillows for comfort. Bathroom had a nice shower / tub combination and quality products. The kitchen area included everything you would need if you wanted to prepare a meal or just warm up something you bring back to the room. It even included a dishwasher for clean-up. A large flat screen television and a Bose bluetooth music system were included for entertainment, Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby, and convenient to Waverley train station and taxi stand.
Modern, up to date ammentities, friendly and professional staff. Perfect location for restaurants and top tourist attractions
My wife and i were on our honeymoon trip. We were looking for something that was nice, but was not going break the bank. This is a gem of a location! It is right off the royal mile and very close to Edinburgh castle. You could not ask for a better location!! To add to that the rooms are spectacular and have everything you need for a long vacation. Had a nice kitchenette and washer/dryer combination unit. This apartment deserves better than a perfect score as it is literally the best place I have ever stayed!
We were a family of four (my daughter and her husband and their baby and me). The apartment-like arrangement was perfect as was the location for easy access. My only complaint was that the heating did not work for us. It was too cold when we arrived in the evening (they tried changing the settings to little avail); the next day it was too hot because one of the radiators would not shut off (so they disconnected it); the final day it was too cold again (because of the radiator turned off). The staff was very pleasant but that was a pretty big negative for the cost.
This is a experience within one of the greatest places to visit in Europe and stand out as a customer focused hotel. Staff was informative .. helpful and provided for every need. The room we stayed in was wonderful and spacious. Every detail was provided for and if not available a short call away. The gym is perhaps the best I have ever used in a hotel. Overall it made our trip to Edinburgh a greater treat and at a reasonable price I would strongly recommend all give them a shot.
I normally don't take time to write reviews but this place totally deserves it. It exceeded our expectations! Thank you !!
Literally steps to St. Giles you couldn't be any closer to the action, yet as it is down an enchanting Close, you feel a world away. Tjis is the most interesting place we have ever stayed and would stay here again in a heart beat! As others have mentioned, there are many stairs to climb to get to regestration. Very close to train station!
Excellent roomy apartment for family. Location is perfect for exploring Edinburg.
Nice, modern apartment style room with great service and a perfect location.
I went to Scotland for a conference and was so sad to leave by the time my trip was up. The Hotel combines the freedom of an apartment with the comfort and cleanliness of a 5 star hotel! I had my own beautiful studio apartment in their hotel complex where with everything I needed, kitchen, beautiful bathroom, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The hotel staff at the reception desk was there 24/7 ready to help, they even had extra EU to UK converters that I could borrow at no extra cost when I forgot mine. The hotel is right in the historic centre of the city surrounded by amazing shops and restaurants and close to all sorts of public transportation. I will definitely be staying here again when I return!
