Came here for my birthday with my boyfriend in December, managed to check in to the room slightly earlier than we were told which was a nice bonus. The room was nice, I’d say it’s maybe slightly overpriced for what you get, the “double bed” was two single beds pushed together and they were both on wheels, so when the bed moved both beds separated. We were given a voucher for a free glass of prosecco as it was my birthday which was a nice touch from the hotel. The hotel is in an amazing location, we’re very familiar with Edinburgh as my boyfriend used to live there so it was nice being so central. Upon checkout, we were allowed to leave our cases in the hotel so that we could go have a wander around the Christmas markets, again a nice touch from the hotel.

We were treated to a 3 night stay as an anniversary present. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was very good being just off the main street and near to the tram which quickly transfered us from the airport. All the attractions are within easy walking distance. We even managed to walk to Arthur's seat and the Royal Yacht.

We was greeted on arrival by very friendly staff for our 3 night stay. We was directed to our room so had no problems in finding it at all! We stayed in the Gordon Ramsay room, lovely decor and very very clean. we had everything we could need iron, ironing board, hairdryer, mini bar with complimentary mineral water every day and tea cakes very lovely touch. The room was cleaned daily and clean towels. The bathroom was lovely with a perfect hot shower great pressure & very clean and very plush. The bed was also very comfy no faults at all. We had no noise disturbance in the room even though we had the window open during the night and no noise from the corridors at all was very peaceful. We had drinks in the bar after our night out before retiring to bed, great service again perfect!! Lovely atmosphere. The hotel is perfectly situated for walking into the town to all the great bars and restaurants etc perfect position. The only one downside we found the room to be so so hot not sure why as we had no heating on and no heated towel rail on either. We switched the air con on but this made no difference either. It was very mild the weekend so that didn't really help. We found it really hard to sleep as it was so hot but that is our only grumble. Lastly, a plug by the mirror would finish the room off perfect as you can't see to dry your hair. Would definitely stay again that's for sure.

Just got back from the hotel, my girlfriend emailed in advance and asked for the Sean Connery room, we where delighted to be allocated this and I even won an online completion and got a free glass of prosecco and a free breakfast Hotel was lovely, service was great and the food and drinks where great too, would highly recommend

I stayed here in a single was tiny but comfortable and clean After check in I had problems finding my room as there’s very little signage and you have no idea what floor you’re on My biggest concern was heavy laundry bags blocking the door in and out of my floor (Not only unsightly but a fire hazard). I had to move these bags of dirty laundry myself to get to my room. If I’d have been the other side I wouldn’t have been able to get out I was in room 109 and was awoken very early by noisy deliveries outside so you’ll need earplugs if you want a lie in

Great place to stay in Edinburgh. The location is awesome, in walking distance to so many parts of the city, including the Royal Mile, museums, restaurants, etc. The rooms are nicely appointed with cool furnishings - modern and interesting, very clean. Would definitely stay again.

Check in staff were really pleasant and friendly, really lovely girl and all began smoothly. She made up a second room key for my other half who was joining me later and kept it on reception for his arrival. I went upstairs for a quick disco nap and was delighted by the blackout curtains and comfy bed. However, the room (Sharlene Spiterri, 309) was tiny - about 2/3 the size of the bathroom which was rather strange! Bed also small (double not king), but very comfy. The room was also freezing (window had been left open on arrival which would have been fine if the heater had worked). We were offered an additional space heater but we were hardly in the room so no real need. Duvet was warm. The cleaners also left empty boxes and a bottle of glass cleaner on our sink. Our spring water was replaced with an open bottle. There were some VERY noisy pipes which seemed to gurgle and squeak at odd hours of the night. Also no sound proofing to hallway - woken at night or early morning by cleaners or other guests every day. Expensive stay for tiny, "style over substance" room. That said, the breakfast was delicious with lovely strong coffee. The location is also perfect for exploring Edinburgh and the rooms are quirky, despite their tiny-ness. I'd recommend halving the bathroom size to give Sharlene some more living space!

We stayed in the Sean Connery room (aka James Bond room) and it was perfect for us (2 adults and one 8 year old) The staff was awesome, room super clean and the location perfect for us. We will stay here again!!! Loved it!

Just had a superb Sunday Roast, absolutely faultless and excellent value. Alongside friendly, efficient and unobtrusive service, in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. Many thanks to your staff, looking forward to returning already!

Had beautifully served lunch which was delicious and enjoyed by all seven of our party. Staff very attentive and courteous. Definitely go back there as we were served quite quickly and the surroundings very pleasant. You need to book as it seems to be very popular.
